I don’t even know where to begin with this. First of all I want you guys and girls to read what I’m about to write here and pay very close attention. And the most important thing, think about what I’m saying.
Secondly as you know or don’t know I am a NaruSaku fan. However I’m a Naruto fan first. If I wasn’t I wouldn’t have bothered to read/follow this story in the first place for so many years. I care about the story, the characters, the messages it tries to send more than I care about Narusaku.
Before I start I recommend all of you to go right now on Google and search for “how not to write and ending” or “the do's and don'ts of endings” so you can understand what a writer should do in an ending and he/she shouldn’t do.
Ever since I read this ending, I’ve been desperately trying to understand what the hell I just read. Every single time I think about it I get headaches. And I can’t believe this catastrophe. The first time I saw the spoilers and I said to myself that those are fake, but then the chapters got released and I actually saw that those spoilers weren’t fake. I sort of went in a sort of depression, not really a depression but you get what I mean, I was confused and I felt really strange for about a week and wasn’t able to think properly. This is what happens when you allow yourself to get attached emotionally to a fictional story. I’m never going to do that ever again. But after I let go of my emotions and let myself think properly and objectively look at this ending. I came to a simple conclusion. This ending makes no sense whatsoever.
Now you might say well you’re just a Narusakutard that can’t accept that Naruto and Sakura didn’t end up together and now you’re just kittening about it. But like I said above I’m a Naruto fan first and a NaruSaku fan second. Throughout this rant I’m constantly going to remind you of that in order for you to understand that I care about the story and everything else more than I care about NaruSaku.
So let’s begin. Naruto’s ending is the worst ending in the history of storytelling. You see everything an ending should be like provide resolution, resound the themes, and provide closure on the sub-plots and the characters. Give some of these characters their moment to shine. All these things it should do it fails at, doesn’t care to or does something completely ridiculous. The characters are completely out of character (in case you have no idea what that means, it means when a character behaves outside their established personality), the lore is just destroyed, things happen without any explanation or exposition. It’s unbelievably poorly put together. Or it’s just one giant lie, more on that later.
Remember this isn’t me kittening that my favorite pairing didn’t happen therefore the story sucks. It’s something so much bigger than the pairings.
You see an ending should answer previous questions that were raised during the story. This ending not only that it didn’t bother to answer the questions that were raised but it completely ignores them like these things never even existed. Plus it actually gave us more questions. Nothing got answered in this ending and nothing makes any sense in this so called ending.
First let’s look at this ending and see these brand new questions. But before that I’m going to talk about lore. Lore is established information and knowledge we learned about the universe in which the story takes place. When a question of lore is raised in an existing scene either contradicts pre-established info or creates new lore with no explanation. Expecting the reader to believe it somehow. The first problem is called a retcon, the second is poor exposition. In the former this is what happens when the writer is unable to remember the details he/she wrote. In the latter the writer is to lazy to establish new ideas properly through basic techniques by using details and exposition.
Space Reasons
OK so why is Shino wearing an Oculus Rift? What the hell is going on here? Why do we have laptops in the Naruto universe? Why are there skyscrapers in the village? Was Kishi staring out the window and saw some beautiful buildings in front of him and said to him that he has the talent to draw those and he did, but didn’t realize that he was drawing on the page that was supposed to go in the chapter. And only realized the mistake he made when it was too late and just had to give the page away in order to for the chapter to get released or what?
Why don’t Naruto and Hinata’s kids have the Byakugan? Why do they have whiskers? Remember it was specifically said that the reason Naruto has those whiskers marks on his face is because of Kurama’s influence on Kushina when Naruto was in her womb. Another way a person can have whiskers is if the Kyuubi eats them and they feed on its flesh/chakra. Like Ginkaku and Kinkaku did. That’s the only way to have whiskers. So did Hinata somehow get the other side of Kurama, and she became the Kyuubi’s Jinchuuriki or were those kids at one point eaten by the Kyuubi and they eat his flesh/chakra? What the hell is going on here? Why doesn’t the boy any traits/features from Hinata? Why does the girl look like Lee? Seriously look at her she actually looks like a combination of Hinata and Lee, but more Lee. And the boy looks like a different version of Naruto and Sakura but with whiskers. Which again I point out makes no sense.
Why is Kiba flirting with a cat girl? Now I know we're in Lala Land. Why does Sasuke and Sakura’s kid look like Karin? Seriously look at her that’s a replica of Karin. And I’m not saying this because of the glasses. It’s her gestures and her facial expressions. Go back and check Karin and you will instantly see the resemblance. The only thing Sakura-ish about her is the “Shannaro”. Everything else screams Karin. Oh and she’s a stalker like Hinata. That's Karin's child there's no way around this.
Why is everyone completely out of character, including the main character? Expect for Lee. What happened to Orochimaru, Karin, Suigetsu and Juugo?
Why did Killer Bee become a monk? Remember Killer Bee the rapper, anyone? What the hell happened to him? Why is Sai and Ino’s kid look like a walking corpse? Why is everyone sad and miserable in this ending?
What happened to finding peace in the world? Why did everyone gave up on their dreams and settled for a life of mediocrity? What the hell did the writer do to Naruto’s character? And Sakura’s character, Ino’s character, Hinata’s character and Chouji character and everyone else? What the hell is going on here? Where the hell did these kids come that all are exactly the same age come from? What did everyone decide to have a meeting and have an orgy? What the hell is going on here?
Why are the themes abandoned? What happened to the rest of the tailed beasts? What happened to the Uchiha curse? You know the one that Tobirama mentioned that all Uchiha that feel love and lose it also lose themselves and go insane. What happened to that? And so many more questions.
This ending instead of answering the questions that were raised during the last 698 chapters, it created so many more questions. And it didn’t bother to answer anything.
Space Reasons 2
An ending is supposed to be the culmination of all ideas and the finality of the quest the protagonist was on. The outcome of their choices and conflicts. We can finally close that door. Or we leave a door open in case the story has so strong idea. Like how to bring true peace in the world.
That’s what an ending is supposed to be. This ending doesn’t even try to address the conflicts and issues that we’ve seen. How to bring true peace in the world is just forgotten.
It did manage to do something. We finally saw that Naruto is the Hokage. But there’s a problem with that. Remember Naruto wanted to become Hokage because he wanted acknowledgment. Later on Itachi told him that it’s not those that end up Hokage that get acknowledgment, it’s those that get acknowledgment that end up Hokage. Did we see that in this ending? No. Naruto ended up Hokage because Kakashi quit.
Another question that was raised in this ending and it didn’t even try to answer it is: What is a Shinobi now? Because as far as we saw Shinobis are no longer necessary because those that were shinobi gave up on that. Also why has everyone given up on their dreams and duties as a shinobi?
For example Chouji ended up a fat bastard that forgotten the lessons we learned from his father and Asuma. When it was clear that he’ll eventually take the mantle of the clan leader.
Second example Ino. Instead of taking her father role in the clan she ended up having a kid with Sai and forgetting all she learned in her life. Not to mention that the previous sexy girl of Konoha ended up looking like a tramp. Also why the hell that she look like part 2 Ino but much older? When it in movie called “The Last” she looks completely different.
Third example Shino. He ended up a teacher when it was foreshadowed that like all his friends, he will eventually be like his dad.
Fourth example Naruto. This character is portrayed the worst of all. He completely changed and forgot everything he learned throughout his entire life and everything he promised to do. He literally went 180 on himself.
And so many other characters just completely go 180 on everything they wanted to do or said that they’re going to do.
Now like I said before I’m going to explain why this ending is an absolute catastrophe to the story. Why this ending destroys the entire story, why it doesn’t make any sense. And again I say it’s not really about the pairings, it does have a connection to them but there’s something so much bigger. But before I talk about the real reason this ending destroys the story, I need to let the NaruSaku fan in me out, don’t worry I won’t ramble.
So here’s the truth. I can shallow NaruHina, I can. I don’t like it but I can shallow it. Some of you think that I hate Hinata, that’s not true. I never actually liked her for two simple reasons. I don’t like how the writer portrayed her and wrote her and I don’t like her fans that exaggerate her moments beyond belief. That being said that doesn’t mean I don’t want Hinata to get development. Actually the contrary, I’m one of the very few people that actually want her to get proper development. I wanted her to open her eyes to the truth that her love for Naruto blinds her to the people around her. People that actually care about her, people like Neji, Hanabi, her teammates and her father.
Space Reasons 3
That being said if the writer wanted the readers to see that Naruhina was the end pairing then he should’ve development that relationship. If Kishi was planning to make Naruhina from day one then he should’ve made that implication clear. What he did instead was develop the relationship between Naruto and Sakura. This is not my own personal interpretation of what happened, this is exactly what happened. From the very beginning and until the end, the main character has always been in love with Sakura. His love for her didn’t vanish or started to fade away.
Even after Hinata’s confession and even after he held hands with Hinata. That love didn’t disappear; actually we got moments that tell us that Naruto’s feelings for Sakura are still alive and always will remain there no matter what. Not only that, but the writer gave hints and parallels to indicate where the future was heading. For example Konohamaru says that Sakura is Naruto’s girlfriend, through that sign with his pinky. In case you don’t know that sign with the pinky means the one you’re destined to be with in some cultures. Another example is Kushina’s last words to Naruto. She told him to not fall for a weird one and find someone like her that is the correct translation.
The readers already saw that Sakura was like Kushina. But that wasn’t enough so Minato came in and confirmed that Sakura is indeed like Kushina. Another example is Naruto saying that Sakura is his girlfriend, after his moment with Hinata. And so many more moments that if I mention them all it would take a long time.
The main task of a writer is believability. The reader needs to feel that this fictional story is real. You know why there’re good actors/actresses? It’s because their job is to make that scene believable, to make the scene feel real. Well that’s also the job of the writer to make the story and the characters in it feel real. That’s why we’re so attached to some of these characters. The key to any good story is authenticity. It's making it feel real for the reader that's why writers work so hard making the details right.
Now you can’t possible tell the readers that the main character loved a girl for the entire storyline and then all of a sudden, a new girl which by the way is a side character that barely appears in the story comes in confesses her love for him. The main character completely ignores her for two years and then magically falls in love with her because of a contrived villain and a contrived and retconed flashback. That’s not realistic or believable. The reason I said two years is because if you don’t know the upcoming movie – The Last. Takes place 2 years after the events of 699. For two years Naruto and Hinata didn’t interact. Their relationship didn’t change at all. Neji’s death didn’t do anything to bring these two characters together. Nothing changed. Hinata still remained Naruto’s fangirl while Naruto kept ignoring her. The two of them never formed a bond. And it’s not like Naruto also showed feelings for Hinata but couldn’t face them just yet. No, he just didn’t see Hinata in that way. He always loved Sakura. He never showed any attraction towards Hinata, ever. Also it shouldn't come as a surprise to you. But if NaruHina was the end game then it should've been development in the manga and made official in the manga. Not have the main character be in love with Sakura for 699 chapters then create a movie to try to justify how Naruto the character that never changes ended up changing. That's catastrophically bad writing. He literally shoot himself in the head.
And I know you’re going to say that NaruHina has plenty of development. But step back and look at the big picture. In reality Naruto and Hinata have three big moments. One of them is chapter 88 if I remember correctly. Then we have a huge gap of nothing until chapter 437 aka Hinata’s confession. Then we have another big gap of nothing until 615. And if you look closely you’re going to realize that they really have two moments, because one of those moments is Hinata’s confession which is a monologue coming from Hinata. Not to mention that between those moments we had constant reminders that Naruto loves Sakura. And constant NaruSaku moments. Yes we also have other moments between Naruto and Hinata but yet again I have to say take an honest look. It’s always the same Naruto the teacher and Hinata the apprentice. Hinata feels like she’s worthless and Naruto as the teacher makes her feel better by telling her that she’s not worthless. By encouraging her. Remember Hinata has never really being in love with Naruto, she has also being in love with his nindo. That’s what inspired her to stop being the loser that she was.
Space Reasons 4
So putting Naruto and Hinata together after showing that for the entire story, Naruto aka the main character loved Sakura, is stupid. However it can be done, it’s bad writing but it can be done. However that raises the question. Why in God’s name did this writer dedicate so many parallels and hints and panels to the relationship between Naruto and Sakura? When the end game was NH all along, it makes no sense. 15 years of developing one relationship only to throw it in the garbage can. That is the definition of bad writing. However like I said I can shallow it. Something that I can’t say about Sasuke and Sakura.
SasuSaku is the worst pairing of them all. And this one I refuse to believe it even happened. Why is that?
Well simple because of the incredibly horribly bad message it sends to all women, but not just women, to men as well.
It shows that it’s perfectly fine to be abused, to be beaten by the person you think you love. Remember this story is aimed at kids and teenagers. So is this really the lesson the writer wants to tell his readers, that’s it perfectly fine to beat, abuse, and treat someone like utter kitten?
Now this is a fact men and women will never truly understand each other. Actually the entire human race will never truly understand each other. Now I’m a guy and I have to ask the female readers of “Naruto” a question. How to you honestly feel when you see how this writer portrayed women? Also this is question for men as well. Remember men are being abused as well in real life, not just women. It’s rare but it does happen. That is a fact.
Can you honestly look yourself in the mirror and say that it’s perfectly ok to beat the people that “love” you? To treat them like kitten, to try to kill them. Be honest.
SasuSaku is an atrocity. It shows that women that are treated badly by their boyfriends/husbands should never grow up, that they should endure all the beating, the insults and all the crap. That they should remain stupid for the rest of their lives even when another guy that is right next to them is showing them true happiness.
This is one of the reasons I liked NaruSaku. Because Sasuke never cared about Sakura, he treated her like crap his entire life, even when all that Sakura wanted was to help him. He even tried to kill her multiple times. And here comes Naruto the guy that mostly kept his feeling for Sakura to himself. The guy that showed Sakura what love is, the guy that makes her happy makes her smile, the one that comforts her whenever she’s down, the one that brings her true self out, she can be herself around Naruto. The so called love triangle between Naruto, Sakura and Sasuke could have been well implemented.
By showing the readers that if you “love” someone that treats you like kitten and only makes you feel miserable, and in your life there’s another person that makes you feel happy, truly loves you, shows you how you treat the people you love. That you should pick the option that makes you happy, not remain stupid for the rest of your life and accept all the beating.
I refuse to accept SS. Like I said I can shallow Naruto and Hinata. Because even though that relationship is bad, remember Hinata could have saved Naruto from the loneliness but chose not to. It’s nowhere near SS. Naruto and Hinata never tried to kill each other or treated each other like kitten. So it’s easier to shallow. That being said Naruhina sends a bad message to the readers, more on that later.
Ok enough with the pairings. Now some people said that Kishi sold out, that he sold out and that’s why we got a NH/SS ending. Ok that would explain those two pairings; however it doesn’t explain all the other crap that is present in this ending.
For example: Why did Naruto gave up, why he treats his own son like that. Some of you might find it funny that Naruto’s son is acting exactly like Naruto was when he was a kid. You’ll say it’s a parallel, it’s entertaining. However that’s exactly the problem. Naruto changed. Look at the child’s behavior. It’s very clear that he’s being neglected. You can’t possibly tell me that Naruto the character that understands pain, suffering and loneliness better than anyone else. The character that we’ve seen so many times that craved for a family.
Finally has one and completely ignores his son and wife. Remember we also saw how much Naruto wanted a family in Road To Ninja, we saw how happy that made him. And now he would rather drink, eat ramen from a can and go on Facebook than spend time with his own son. There’s no way in hell that this is Naruto. This isn’t the kid that we’ve followed for so many years; this isn’t the same character that was filled with love, that showed caring and love even to his worst enemies. Remember back in the day when Naruto acted badly. Iruka would’ve talked to him and treat him to Ichiraku. The third Hokage would’ve just laughed. None of them would’ve treated Naruto like he treats his own child.
But the way Naruto treats his own son is exactly the same he was treated by the villagers. Naruto didn’t become the solution to the problem, he became the problem. He’s own kid is treated like trash. He tells his kid to deal with it because he would rather spend time in his office doing nothing; I mean really what was he doing? Drinking, eating ramen and going on Facebook. His own son even wrote on the Hokage monument “sh*tty dad”. That’s catastrophically bad. And this shouldn’t even exist.
I mean ok he ended up with a girl he never loved. But why should the kid be punished because he never had the guts to tell Sakura how he really feels. He just gave up.
To be continued.

Which I've told you - time and time again - is dangerous! There will never be consensus, son, among those you have helped to ascend. They will all differ in their views of what it means to be free. The peace you so desperately seek does not exist.
These men are united now by a common cause. But when this battle is finished they will fall to fighting amongst themselves about how best to ensure control. In time it will lead to war. You will see.

To be continued.
... To be continued? Can't wait! This was awesome!
G . I . N . T . A . M.A
“The country? The skies? You can have them! I'm busy enough protecting what's in front of me. I don't know how many times I failed to protect what I wanted. I have nothing left, so at least if something has fallen at my feet, I'll pick it up."
This isn’t the Naruto that was portrayed for the last 698 chapters. Now you understand how out of character Naruto really is? The Naruto that we knew would laugh and remember the old times and go and talk with his son and hang out with him. You know like he did with Konohamaru. He treated Konohamaru better than his own son. There’s no way in hell that this ending is real.
Another example: Where the hell did Naruto’s smile disappear? You know his iconic smile that even Jiraiya noticed and said that his smile will save the world. Hell even Hinata said that Naruto’s smile saved her. So where is that smile? What we got is a forced smile, a smile that shows regret. He’s regretting his life, the decisions he made.
Yet another example: What the hell happened to Anko? You remember her? The bad ass chick that was Orochimaru’s student and even fought with him. Is now a fat chick that it appears that she ate Ichiraku.
What happened to Ten-Ten’s dream? Remember she wanted to become a legendary Kunoichi like Tsunade. Yes she ended up selling weapons, because that was her dream right?
What happened to Kushina’s last words to Naruto? Ok fine Naruto didn’t end up with a girl like Kushina told him, but why the hell did Naruto decide to completely ignore the rest of her dying wishes?
For example she told Naruto to make lots of friends. What we got in this ending is a lonely Naruto that not only doesn’t spend time with his own family but doesn’t even spend time with his friends.
She even told him to eat more vegetables. What did we get? He eats only ramen and bought ramen, not even a home cooked meal. Great job Naruto you shat all over your mother’s dying wises. You know the one that give you your life and even sacrificed herself to save you. Is this really the same Naruto? Hell no.
What the hell happened to this current generation? Remember the theme? The next generation always surpasses the previous one. Well this one didn’t surpass the previous one at all. They completely forgot everything they’ve learned and gave up on life and now they’re waiting for death to come knocking on their door so they can go to the other world. There isn’t a single character in this entire ending that’s happy. Not even one. They’re sad, miserable and old. Hell even the kids are miserable.
This generation not only that gave up but ended up worse than all the previous generations combined.
Naruto didn’t surpass Minato, Jiraiya, Hashirama or hell even Obito. He surpassed none of them and ended up way worse than any of them.
Is this really why so many characters sacrificed their lives and believed in them, so everyone can just give up and everything.
Characters like Itachi, Shikaku, Obito, Jiraiya, Inoichi, Lady Chiyo, Minato, Kushina, Nagato and others. Granted some of these characters were killed. But still the point still remains. Why does this generation completely and utterly ignore everything these people believed in and gave up on their lives?
Ino ended up a housewife, instead of leading her clan, continuing to improve her father’s technique.
Hinata instead of leading her clan, honoring Neji the guy that gave his life to protect her. Ends up a housewife that her own husband ignores. Also she said that she also wants to stay by Naruto’s side. Well why don’t we see that? If NaruHina is canon then why the hell don’t we see her with Naruto?
Space Reasons
Sakura instead of becoming the next Tsunade. And saving people, she ended up a housewife/maid.
Naruto ended up giving up on everything and forgetting everything he was supposed to do. He ended up a dead beat father and a husband that would rather spend his time at work instead of with his wife and kids. He doesn’t even care about all the promises he made to Nagato, to Jiraiya, to Neji and his father, to his mother and all the rest. He ends up not caring about anyone or anything. He got his dream of being the Hokage and the rest be damned. This is not the same Naruto that was portrayed for the last 15 years. Nothing in this entire ending makes any sense, except one panel. More on that later.
Here’s the truth most people in their heart of hearts always hope for a happy ending. But a morose conclusion is just as valid as any other. What’s invalid is an ending lacking in depth, substance and any form of closure. That’s not an ending. That’s an insult the story and to the people that followed this it for all these years.
Now there’s a theory out there. It tells us that what we got isn’t the true ending. That’s it’s a genjutsu or an alternate universe. Why does this theory exist? Simple because people are trying to understand this so called ending that makes no sense. If it’s a genjutsu it’s probably Hinata that is under. Because Hinata never understood Naruto or the people around her. That would explain all the bizarre things that are present in this ending. It would explain why we don’t see what happened to team taka, why Naruto and everyone else went 180, why the female characters are portrayed like nothing more than housewives. Why her kids have whisker marks when that’s impossible. And everything else that doesn’t make any sense. This ending makes no sense.
Not only that it contradicts every single bit of information we got but it even contradicts the character designs from The Last. Remember the last is canon and it takes place two years after 699. Take a look at how the characters look in movie and take a look at how they look in 700. Ino in the last chapter looks like part 2 but much older when in the last which takes place 2 years after 699. Chouji looks different; Temari looks different, hell even Hinata looks different. You look at the last chapter and you’re going to realize immediately that not one panel makes sense. Each of them either has a contradiction, something that makes no sense or a mistake or sometimes all three of them in the same panel. Expect for one single panel. And that panel is Lee’s panel. The one with him training is the only thing that makes sense and he’s also the only character that remained in character. Road To Ninja much?
That’s why such a theory exists. It’s because people are trying to explain what we saw. Things that contradict every single chapter before this ending. Not only that it contradicts them but it goes in the exact opposite way. This ending doesn’t even have any retcons, it completely ignores everything and it’s re-writing everything. It’s like up became down.
And I believe this theory. Why? Because it explains why everything is broken. That would be only logical explanation to this illogical ending. Why these characters went 180, why we abandon the themes, why none of the subplots are resolved, why all the foreshadowing is abandoned and on and on.
Space Reasons 2
If this theory is wrong and this is truly how this story ends. Then the writer goes down as one of the worst writers in the history of mankind. But not only that but also one of the worst people in history. Remember how I said before that this isn’t really about my pairing not being canon, it’s something so much bigger than that. It’s about everything else, it’s about how these characters went 180, it’s about how they abandoned their dreams, sub-plots weren’t resolved and it’s about everyone giving up. Speaking of giving up. This is the most important thing. If you read my previous rants I explained what to never give up means. If you didn’t well here’s a short explanation. It means you try something and if it doesn’t work then you try again and again. You don’t just give up; you try again and again until you succeed. However the true meaning behind to never give up is to never give up on hope. That is what this ending truly destroys. It destroys hope. A writer should never destroy hope, what he/she should do is inspire and give people hope.
For example if you’re bullied in school and you feel like you just want to give up and throw yourself in front of the bus, you don’t do that. You don’t give up on hope. You stand up to your bully. You hope that tomorrow will be a better day. You keep pushing forward no matter what.
Or if something bad happened in your life and you think that the only way to get over it is to just end it. Well you don’t do that, you pick yourself up and move forward. That’s what it means to never give up on hope. No matter how hard life is you keep pushing forward.
That’s what this character Naruto was really about. He was an inspiration to millions of people. He gave hope. And if this is truly the end then Kishi killed that hope. Worse if this is truly how he ends his story, it shows that he never cared about his readers. He knew exactly how to attract people into reading his story so he can make money. Yes at the end of the day this is a business but to destroy hope for millions of people. It would show what kind of monster he truly is. We never cared about helping people; he only cared about his own pocket.
This is one of the reasons people read these fictional stories. Because people can relate to these characters, they can relate to a situation. And by watching these characters overcome all the odds against them. They become inspired in real life to improve their own existence, to go forward matter how badly their lives are. They hold on to that hope that tomorrow will be a better day.
That is what this character Naruto inspired. This fictional character gave hope to millions of people. And now the writer just destroys all of that.
And for the last time I’m not saying this just because Naruto gave up on Sakura. It’s because he along with everyone else gave up on everything. In the end is this truly the message Kishi sends his audience? After years of telling us to never give up and follow our dreams no matter what, he tells us to give up. To take the shortcut in life. Because giving up is the best option. Who thinks this is a good message?
Previously I said that Naruhina sends a bad message to the audience. Well that’s the bad message. Naruto gave up on Sakura and went for Hinata. NaruSaku is connected to the idea of never giving up. What’s bad about this is that he never had to do anything in order to get Hinata. He could’ve sat on his ass and Hinata would’ve still given herself to him. He never had to do anything to earn her love. What’s worse is that we actually saw moments of Sakura slowly falling in love with Naruto and Naruto showing time and time again that he only loves Sakura. That’s why ending the story with this pairing is bad. Because it destroys the message of never giving up.However while it’s true that Naruhina goes against to never give up theme and it sends a monumentally bad message, it’s nowhere near as bad as SS. SS is just a catastrophe.
Space Reasons 3
That’s one of the reasons I liked Naruto and Sakura. Because it send a positive message from both sides.
Because it gave 2 positive messages. From someone who is in a similar position as Sakura, if you’re in a relationship or in “love” with someone that treats you like kitten, that abuses you, that just doesn’t care about you and doesn’t show you any bit of love. And you have another person in your life that actually cares about you, shows you love, shows you how you should be treated and makes you happy. Then you should pick the better option, the person that makes you happy and actually cares about you.
And from someone who is in similar position as Naruto. If you love someone instead of forcing yourself on them, show them much you love them; try to make them happy even if you’re sacrificing your own happiness. And by you not giving up and trying over and over again. Eventually that person will notice that and perhaps will love you back just as much as you love them.
That’s what NaruSaku was. It was a positive message from both sides. It showed the audience that if you have a kind heart and you try to make people happy and you’re selfless. In the end you’ll be rewarded.
Speaking of reward. Who actually benefits from this ending? I mean yeah the writer got a huge check to make part 3. But good luck trying to sell part 3 with new characters that no one cares about, with a broken storyline, with horrible messages and many other things. I don’t know how many of you saw “The Dark Knight” but in that movie there’s a line. And that line is: ”Because sometimes truth isn’t good enough. Sometimes people deserve more. Sometimes people deserve to have their faith rewarded.” So I ask who is rewarded with this ending? No one really wins, everyone loses.
Well expect the writer because he made a lot of money from writing this story for all these years. But did the average reader win anything? No. Did the hardcore reader win anything? Did the Naruto fan win anything? No. Even the pairing fans, did you win anything? Yeah sure for you NH fans “won” your pairing became canon. But take a look at the outcome. Naruto is a dead beat father that would rather spend time at work instead of spending time with his kid and you know his wife. I ask you NH fans are you truly satisfied with how your pairing was portrayed? We don’t even see the two of them together. Come on let’s be honest with ourselves and admit that this ending is an insult towards everyone who followed this story.
Space Reasons 4
Now let’s talk about fixing this ending. Because it’s not really that difficult. I’m going to explain how the ending should’ve been without the pairings.
First of all we don’t skip 10-12 years into the future because that’s just stupid. And we don’t introduce brand new characters that no one cares about.
We see Naruto walking the streets of Konoha along with his friends and the people in Konoha praise him as the hero that saved the world. And say that he should be the Hokage. We see Naruto becoming the Hokage and once he’s the Hokage, he declares that now it’s time for him to fulfill his promises. The promises he made to Nagato, Jiraiya, Neji and everyone else. And boom the writer can make part 3 in which we see how exactly Naruto is going to accomplish these things. And if Naruto ends up a girl then we should see who that girl is either Sakura or Hinata or someone else. Also we see that all the Kages agree that the Tailed Beasts should be left alone forever. And they should never be used as weapons ever again.
We see Sakura in the hospital taking Tsunade’s place as the healer. We see that she saves lives. We see that she still supports Naruto’s dream of becoming the Hokage.
We Shikamaru spending time Asuma’s “king”. We see Ten-Ten training and declaring that now she has a new goal to surpass Sakura since Sakura became more powerful than Tsunade. We see Lee training.
We see Hinata training as well. Remember she was just like Naruto, an outcast, a loser. We see that she’s training to catch to Naruto’s new level. We see Hanabi going to her and it’s time for her (Hinata) to take the role of clan leader because her father thinks that she’s ready do to her performances in the war. Boom instant development for her. And on and on.
Now you understand what the ending of “Naruto” should have been? Now you understand why the ending that we got is crap? Remember an ending is supposed to give characters closure, to resolve the sub-plots. And an epilogue is showing how life is after the end. It’s not supposed to introduce a bunch of new characters and forget every single thing that has been pre-established in the story and completely destroy the lore by introducing new things without proper exposition.
So here we are at the end of my rant. Before I finish this, I need to say something. If this is truly how the writer ended his story and if that theory is wrong. And this is truly it.
Then I refuse to acknowledge it. For me the story ended at chapter 698. And from there I can make my own ending. And I suggest that you do the same. Regardless of what type of Naruto fan you are. It doesn’t matter if you’re a Naruto fan, an average reader, and hardcore reader, a NaruSaku fan or a NaruHina fan. Yes even you NaruHina fans. Because you can’t possibly tell me you’re satisfied with this ending. I’ve created my previous rants based on your arguments. So I know how you think, probably better than you do. And you seriously can’t tell me that you’re truly satisfied with how your pairing has portrayed. And if you do you’re lying to yourself. Even if you get your NaruHina fix in the upcoming movie take an honest look where that pairing is headed. Naruto is a dead beat father and horrible husband that doesn’t even spend time with his own wife. Yeah NaruHina has beautifully portrayed in this ending don’t you think? Seriously the relationship between those two didn’t change at all. The only thing is that they slept together, produced two kids that Hinata has to take care of because Naruto would rather stay at work eating ramen and going on Facebook.
So make your own ending. But stay true to these characters, give them resolution, resolve the sub-plots, resound the themes don't abandon them. And the most important thing do not destroy hope. But inspire it.
However you choose to end the story is up to you. Make it a sad ending or make a happy ending. You decide but whatever you do stay true to these characters, stay true to everything we’ve seen so far, and don’t make characters go 180 on themselves and honor the character that gave their lives believing in this generation. And no matter how you choose to end the story. Never destroy hope. But inspire it because that's the most important thing.

I was thinking of the SS relationship, and how if it was properly explored I could have accepted it. A parallel example is Gajeel and Levy in Fairy Tail. He frickin crucifies her (literally) in their first encounter. She's wary of him even after he "reforms" and gets a second chance. But then he saves her from an attack, taking the hits instead, probably to even the score a bit and punish himself for what he did to her. Their development begins during the Laxus insurrection arc, when he discovers that a non-battle mage can be strong in other ways and calls her "amazing" as she deciphers runes on the fly. It really takes off during the S-rank exams arc when he offers to be her partner (mostly because he himself wasn't selected as a candidate) and they discover they make a good team. After that, they start getting covers together, and in the most recent arc they get an unexpected air-exchange kiss (which we assumed was a parallel to the NarSaku CPR moment), making them the first 100% confirmed couple in the whole series,.
Now that is a tale of redemption. That is character and relationship development. It's masterful, and that's why they're probably the most popular ship in the whole manga at this point.
As for SS, he's still being a total kitten to her in the very last few chapters of the manga. Sasuke has done nothing to earn a genuine relationship with Sakura. He is not worthy of her.

I haven't read Fairy Tail but from what you described that sounds a lot better than SS.
Sasuke is not really worthy of anyone, personally I still say he should've died. But Kishi really loves Sasuke and he also made every single character in the story fall in love with him. No matter how he behaves. As long as he say sorry all is forgiven and forgotten.
Which I've told you - time and time again - is dangerous! There will never be consensus, son, among those you have helped to ascend. They will all differ in their views of what it means to be free. The peace you so desperately seek does not exist.

You are so so right. I always thought that the good ending will come to us as long as we follow Kishi's message and never give up. But then after reading Kishi's interview I was so pissed off, I just stopped thinking anymore and making IT theories that gives any kind of credit to Kishi. Currently I'm too blinded in my disgust for Kishi that I can't think of any new theories like I used to, and my hate for him is telling me he'll succeed in disappointing me more. But my rational mind is saying that you are more correct in this and that there MUST be an explanation why all of this is so wrong in the movie. After all, Kishi did say to read chapter 700 AFTER the movie. Also there are different timelines in the same chapter, like Shikamaru having a beard and one that he doesn't, Boruto and Himawari being of different age when they're same in the movie, Tsunade's clothes and hairstyle different from one panel to the next and most of all, Kurama sleeping.
I hope you are right. And I applaud you for making a five star rant.
I mean ok he ended up with a girl he never loved. But why should the kid be punished because he never had the guts to tell Sakura how he really feels. He just gave up.
To be continued.
Well the space reason about the children getting whiskers is kind of useless. You do realise that the kids are made from Naruto's sperms right? His genes do contain kurama's chakra now, so them having whiskers is completely legit.
And now about the thing I underlined. I feel that you can definitely blame Naruto for being a sh*tty dad(we all do), but you simply can't blame him for not confessing to Sakura. Why should a sensible guy under any conditions confess to a girl who just ignored him and was so ready to leave him behind for the man who tried to kill her and did nothing for her all these years? I think that was a good thing that Naruto didn't confess, but I would have liked to see some interaction between them where Naruto was shown with the sad smile or something like that when Sakura said she was ready to leave with Sasuke.
In the end Naruto didn't give up, he just moved on, yes he might have made Hinata a silver medal, but that is how it is. Naruto couldn't have done anything else to show Sakura his love for her. Sai had already told Sakura about his feelings and Sakura just didn't came to feel that way for Naruto in the end. Sakura chose to be a fangirl whereas Naruto decided to start a family and not wait/hope for Sakura to get a divorce.
So I myself don't like anyone except Jiraiya, Kushina and Minato anymore, but still whenever I see someone saying Naruto didn't had the guts to confess, it is just wrong.
NO SENSIBLE MAN WILL CONFESS TO A GIRL HE KNOWS IS NOT IN LOVE WITH HIM BUT INSTEAD LOVES SOMEONE ELSE, UNLESS AND UNTIL HE OR THAT GIRL MIGHT BE IN A DYING SITUATION IS DESPERATE TO GET REJECTED, LOSE SELF RESPECT.
You are so so right. I always thought that the good ending will come to us as long as we follow Kishi's message and never give up. Once again thank you. But correct me if I'm wrong but I thought you said that Kishi said to read chapter 700 before the movie not after.
Like I said if this is truly the end then I refuse to acknowledge it. I will make my own ending. Because nothing in 700 makes any sense. The more I think about it the more stuff I find that's broken.
Agreed with a lot of your points. The ending really did just create more questions than answers, almost like it was all for the sake of shock value rather than making sense. Not gonna lie, the ending wasn't the only thing retconned in Naruto - a lot of part 2 seemed to have opposite messages than were introduced in part 1. Naruto as the Chosen One, for example. Um, why??
Pretty much everything after the Pain Arc...is where things start turning backwards. Pain Arc is were Naruto got his acknowledgement anyways, so it would've been a better point to wrap things up. The ninja war was pointless. All the ninja holding hands and fighting together doesn't help Naruto's character. Naruto becoming a god doesn't help his character. His peak for acceptance was defeating Pain. Everything after that just seemed to transform him into an unrelatable person.
As far as the timeskip ending in 700...yeah, it's all wrong. Pretty ironic Naruto is teaching his child to endure in a world where ninja aren't needed anymore. No wonder he drinks.
Once again thank you. But correct me if I'm wrong but I thought you said that Kishi said to read chapter 700 before the movie not after.

Oh did I write after? Sorry, my careless mistake caused from sleepiness. Yes, Kishi strongly requested to read chapter 700 BEFORE the movie.

First of all I hope you do realize you're trying to justify something that makes no sense and it goes against pre-established information. Those kids having whiskers marks makes no sense.
I can blame Naruto for giving up on Sakura, because that's what he did. You can't possible tell me that the character that has been portrayed and said that will surpass everyone before him in the end gave up. Take a look at Jiraiya he loved Tsunade all his life even when Tsunade was with Dan. Another great example Obito, this guy started a war because of 12 year old girl and he never gave up on that love for her. Even when it was childish and stupid. Remember Naruto is the one that no matter what never changes and never gives up.
Even though it annoys me to say this but Naruto moving on but could've been integrated and it could've made some sense if it was done right. Have Naruto confess and then Sakura tells him sorry I just don't have those feelings for you. And then Naruto moves on. That's the problem all that love that Naruto had/has for Sakura was just forgotten and not mentioned again. Like it didn't even exist.
Which I've told you - time and time again - is dangerous! There will never be consensus, son, among those you have helped to ascend. They will all differ in their views of what it means to be free. The peace you so desperately seek does not exist.

So people should read the chapter before watching the movie, bizarre really. I mean what's the point of reading the ending and then going to see how it got there. Well when the movie comes out we'll finally get our answers. Though I doubt we're going to get all the answers.
any excuse to justify his ending in order to give a sense to this movie.
Kishi: Good, now that you have read the final chapter, you must to see the movie for have some sense in this ending.

Well who is to blam for that then Oh RIGHT KISHI HE SAID IT HIM SELF AFTER ALL HE DIDN'T CARE TO HAVE SAKURA MOVE ON AND ALL YOU DO MAN IS kitten ON HER AGAIN AND AGAIN AND AGAIN. I MEAN ITS NOT HER FAULT AGAIN ITS KISHI'S FAULT AS HE SUCKS AT DOING WOMAN.
So I agree with Nostradamus it is Naruto fault after all he was the one that made Sakura fail more in love with him remember chapter 3 Naruto looking like Sasuke oh yeah that was never brought up by Naruto again Kishi not Sakura who you seem to keep blaming when any any writer would have had her move on but not Kisdhi again his fault not Sakura's SO STOP DIGGING AT HER!

Damn that was long.
But I agree. The thing that makes this ending so hard to swallow, is the fact that it literally abandons everything the previous 698 chapters established. It's characters were reverted back to their part one selves, or worse, some characters completely disappeared, and nothing was resolved on screen, besides Naruto being Hokage and even then, we don't know the process.
Kishi seems to have shat on his entire story and that's why I can't believe this. That's why I can't just move on, because I need an explanation on how something so atrocious could occur at the end of this 15 year long series. Sadly, there's a chance I may never get any real closure, but hopefully with time I can move on completely.
