In a lot of ways, this episode was very much what I expected. It was a NejiHina centric episode, with Naruto and Sakura in a supporting role.
I liked the idea of Neji being a silent guardian for Hinata. I also think this fits somewhat with his personality at the time. He's trying to open up to others, but he still hasn't completely gotten rid of his hardened personality.
We also got some nice banter between Naruto and Sakura, especially Naruto's talk about the "red string of fate". We even got a Team 7 at the end. I think that describes their prt 1 dynamic very well.
The only thing I'm a bit ambivalent about is Naruto and Sakura's characterization. Naruto isn't usually that lovey dovey with Sakura and Sakura isn't usually that petty, at least not at this point in the story. Then again, it's jus comedy and it also just a filler, so it's not a big problem really.
Next week looks interesting as well. Looks like it will have Sarkua in it. Hopefully she will also get some (filler) screentime.
