My guess is Pierot has come to a point that they just don't care anymore. They don't give a crap about the story, about the characters, anything at all. Their fantasy pairing is finally canon but at what cost? The story itself and the fact that they aren't earning as much money as they did when Naruto was around.

I'd actually compare what Naruto has become with the Star Wars sequels to be honest.

 

The prequels were supplementary to the original trilogy much like Rogue One, further fleshing out the universe and the backstory detailing Anakin's fall from grace. But at the end of the day all paths lead to Return of the Jedi and the success of the original heroes.

 

But with the sequel trilogy, it almost feels like Disney wants to turn back the clock on the franchise. We're not seeing remnants of the Empire fighting against the fledgling New Republic, instead they're up against the rebels, I mean, resistance piloting recognizable vesicles like X-Wings and using the familiar rebel logo. There is no new Jedi order to help maintain the peace, instead Luke ended up as a hybrid between Yoda and Obi-wan. It feels like the story is regressing while passing the torch to Disney's new cast of characters they can market the ever-loving crap out of. It's not Star Wars, it's Disney's Star Wars.

 

I can't help but feel this was the same sentiments behind Boruto. They want to make it the same as the old rather than really advancing the plot. And in a way, this diminishes the victories won by those we have come to love while hyping the new cast as their super talented successors.

 

Let's just say I'm a little nervous to see Last Jedi tomorrow night.

Not only did the message he supposedly intended went over people's heads....AGAIN....., but he also attacked the problem from the wrong angle. "I am not sexist, I made Salad the main character of this short manga," but Sakura is still an obsessive housewife who everyone thinks is useless. Man, Kishimoto is worse than Marvel when it comes to listening to what fans actually want.
 

Does the fandom see Sakura in a better light? Do they say she is still useless and obsessive? (rhetorical.)

To be honest I don't think I ever consider till I read the interview that Kishimoto's goal was to show he wasn't sexist by having 10 chapters gaiden with a girl as the main character. I though the goal of the gaiden was to spite SS fans because he hated the pairing. Granted I still think it was part of it. But after reading that it does make sense, since the same stuff Kishimoto normally does. Shot himself in the foot trying to fix a problem.

 

They like her slightly better now because she had a cool fight with Shin, and she isn't in Hinata's way anymore.

But it defeats the arguments that pro-enders use.

How when even the other characters in the story question it? There is such a thing as "lampshading" meaning when a character is aware of something obvious the audience knows.
 

Skip the idea it was for the sake drama.

Why would Salad question the marriage of Sasuke and Sakura if it supposed to be obvious to us? Salad talks about not seeing pictures, her "mother" ignoring even the most basic of questions, and several obvious tale tell signs.

It not Salad that concerning because she was questioning them being married because she has literally never seen her father for 12 years. 

 

It the fact that the DNA test gave Naruto doubt should. He suppose to be their best friend in theory. He should have at least been at their wedding, among other thing. Yet he's doubting it now, and switch to a speech that is, "it doesn't matter who your mother is it the bonds you made with Sakura that raised you that matter."

Kishi and Seishi  ARE identical twins, could just be some weird twinsense going on...along with the fact that they drew manga together as kids. I'm not surprised they write things similarly. Its still pretty freaky tho. 

To be honest I doubt either were stealing ideas from each other as much as both said at the time they grew up together and were inspired by the same things so of course their work is going to look similar.

Well, yeah, but almost every love story now is better written than SasuSaku and NaruHina at this point. Even Twilight. The big issue with the "bad boy and the main girl character" trope vs SasuSaku is that in every other story where this trope occurs...the bad boy doesn't attempt to murder the girl three times, leave her to die on several occasions, and for most of the story until the last possible chapter treat the girl like kitten and subhuman.

Can you even call either SS or nH a love story? Kishimoto consider SS a clique so he never even wrote anything about them and they only time Sasuke showed any interest in her was the last chapter. The Last wasn't even Hinata winning Naruto's heart as much as it was his friend guilt tripping him into marrying her.

 

And then you remember Karin exists and everything that is horrible about it seems even more unnecessary. It literally could not be MORE OBVIOUS that he did not need to do SS or plan to do SS and yet he did because he has no spine. Karin has no purpose. And no attempt to mitigate the toxicity of it was made. Absolutely pathetic.

She was suppose to be Sasuke's wife that probably is similar personality to Kishi's brother wife. But after nH happened SS was more popular, and pair the spares.

 

Yahagi was the editor that stayed the longest he stayed until he wanted to leave and do other things. Yahagi seemed like the man who was more in-tuned with the story at its base and just wanted to improve of the story to better convey the message rather than change the message outright.

Yahagi was the one who told him to add a rival. Cealrly Kishimoto also add a love interest either based on his type or his future wife that he was interested in. Yahagi didn't reject Sakura as the love interest so the two worked together for years to make Naruto a sucesss. Then Yahagi was promoted, and the new guy was a Hinata fan who only cared about making her the new Heroine therefor the love interest.

He was brought back to revived the Four Hokage. After that he just stuck around till the end. Since Kishimoto just wanted to end it -and I guess executing him would either be too dark for the children or contradicts the whole forgiveness thing at the end- he got to live.

Naruto 699 and 700 by far the starwars prequel are watchable and good in their own right and have better fights in them like anakin vs obi-wan in 3. Anakin going vader was bad but naruto was worse thanks to that rivaliry line. At least we saw how much anakin and padme loved each other even if it was bad but in clone wars it was shown better. So ya point anakin.

Ohoho definetly, Vader was  aware of what he became, and he never asked for forgiveness over his actions(Not that I remember at least) ,Boruto's Dad became the embodiment of what he fought against all his life too, but since the studio producing the sequel anime doesn't even care about that, we are to assume he doesn't either.

Since I grew up with the prequels, I don't consider them that bad (besides the horrible dialogue of some scenes, obvs) but I can say I'd take Vader's arc anytime over any Naruto's character arc.

You know I've kinda been having the same feelings about how Star Wars is being handled right now. Like I don't mind that we're getting the sequel trilogy cause I do find it interesting, but i feel the spin off movies are what's making it loose it's magic. 

 

 

I mean as far as the shows go I love Rebels like out of everything we've gotten so far from the curren Star Wars era Rebels is definitely one of the best things to come out from it specially since you got Dave Faloni on board the same guy that did the Clone Wars show I mean damn like we're talking about someone who made Anakin a much more likeable and dynamic character and his relationship with Padme and being a mentor to Ahsoka the deep bonds with Obiwan like wow and make no mistake I've always liked Anakin as a character even with the execution of the prequels. 

 

I mean this trailer always gets me and I mean Season 2 and 3 are amazing, haven't seen 4 yet going to soon.

Anakin just kind of gave up after Padme died. The whole idea of him joining the dark side was he wanted to save his true love's life. After she died, he fell and gave up on existence. He just did whatever. Does this excuse his actions? No, but when he found out his son was alive he found hope again. His children lived and it brought him back from the dark side.

This is sort of similar to Obito if you think about with Madara being Palpatine. A guy is food by a rotting old man that he can be with his love forever. At first he rejects the man because he keeps it real, but as soon as she dies and he falls from grace...he becomes a pawn of Madara just so he can be with his love again.

I don't see it. People still see Sakura as a useless obsessed fangirl and not a strong ninja or mother. They can't even acknowledge that Hinata spends more time in the hospital than a doctor and still claim that Hinata is better than Sakura in everyway. If people do see her "slight better now" then I am not seeing it. All I see is NaruSaku fans who everyone loves both which is obvious, the pro-enders bash her to no end, and the non-narusaku anti-enders still don't see Sakura in a better light. In fact they see her in a worse light because she still goes weak in the knees because Sasuke is in the room.

Yeah, Yahagi knows what makes a good shonen. If the shonen story is about a boy who never gives up or about motivation to overcome hardship then having a rival and a love interest makes perfect sense. You're promoting goals for him to achieve so he can have purpose. The new guy was more about "okay...so here is how Hinata is going to make a comeback in the story."
 

Like I said, Yahagi only reinforced the message while the new guy wanted to change it entirely.

Well, Sasuke being present in the scene cuts Sakura's legs out. With Hinata, she has no agency or any ability regardless of Naruto. She took everything good about the series away just to do nothing. It would be one thing if Hinata actually got the spotlight. Everything seems so pointless in retrospect. New generation idea would work better if they didn't have to tiptoe around pairings that should never have happened. It would also work better if Naruto was not a corrupt dictator.

For someone everyone claims is the "heroine," she doesn't do anythign heroic. I mean, she sends Bolt to go save her husband and not go herself. At least Sakura went after Salad and fought Shin. Hinata can't even go outside of her house without Naruto saying so.
