yeah Rindo versus Tosuke is going to be the closest match by far

I'm not so sure, while on paper it should be the closest match-up, the number two seat who reached the spot to take advantage of the power if allowed you to wield and the number three who got there without even trying.

However I think the copycat and the fifth seat (or is it fourth now?) will be close match-up with the one specialty giving the copycat the slight edge, or (part of me is hoping this is the case) the pure skill of Saito giving him the edge.

As for the battle between Eishi and Kuga, I expect with it being such a obvious one sided match on paper, Kuga will very likely pull of a feat that will have him praised for his skill and being so close to the number one seat, though ultimately it will be a close match.

This is not going to be like the first round where two of the matches were clearly one sided, I am expecting that even if it's a whitewash, it will be very much be shown as a close match-up to show that the underdogs are not going to be as easy to defeat as they originally thought. I don't think the first round really phased the Elites, the exception of Nene the other two were throwaway members that they included just to make up the numbers.

The rebels can't afford to lose Subaru and Megishima. The former is perhaps the most important key among the rebels, while the latter has the experience and skill needed to take down Eishi. Most importantly, Megishima is the one I see being able to balance out the top two freshmen of the group.

I don't think the first round really phased the Elites, the exception of Nene the other two were throwaway members that they included just to make up the numbers.

Like I keep saying I just don't want this to be a clean sweep. The first round really was just to show off Souma's "growth," the power the rebels have, and to get rid of the unimportant members that were added by Central. If its a clean sweep this round then it's just to get rid of the sacrificable members of the rebel to try to show off the power of the ten seats. The problem with that is that these two rounds then cancel each other out; which may make them feel either pointless or a waste of time.

The rebels can't afford to lose Subaru and Megishima. The former is perhaps the most important key among the rebels, while the latter has the experience and skill needed to take down Eishi. Most importantly, Megishima is the one I see being able to balance out the top two freshmen of the group.

They are going to lose them eventually since the rebels are going to be reduced down to the main four for the final match.

I LOVE how they made Erina sound like a valley girl :lmao: XD I think I read that her English VA is Texan

Her VA is from Texas, but what does that have to do with being a valley girl?

As for the valley girl bit she is suppose to come off as a haughty elite girl with a temper. For an accent that makes some sound like they are an elite girl in English; you only really have British accents, valley girls, and the southern belle.

hmm not sure what that's got to do with it  actually, Maybe it MIGHT explain the accent. I know that some voice actors can't  fully rid themselves of their accent when they speak, even when they are meant to portray a different accent, not that there is anything wrong with that  So maybe that is a case here?

That's why I think they may lose them, this is the typical battle manga set-up, the heroes start off well, then the opponents deal a massive blow to them, taking out their strongest members, they we see the leader of team hero faulting, second guessing themselves, worried they made the wrong decision, feeling despair, then their nakama knock some sense into them, and they continue to fight stronger than ever.

So far it's been a very predictable setup this arc, more so than others, I can see them changing the results if they don't want to drag this any furthr (which if the response is not good I could see happening.) Otherwise I can't see anything less than at the very least two of the three rebels losing.

Btw: No update this week, it's a Japanese holiday this week.

In case anyone hasn't heard, Risa Taneda won't return for season 3 to voice Erina. I'm a bit sad, but her health comes first.

I haven't watched the OVA yet, but from what I've heard, the new voice actress does a good job with voicing Erina. I could barely tell the difference tbh.

Yeah I knew from last year about Risa Taneda's hiatus. I'm sad but I'd rather she be healthy than run herself ragged continuing work if she is ill. Does the new seiyuu really replicate her voice well? :woot:

Oh did tyou watch the english dub yet for Erina? :chuckle:

New chapter is out: http://manga.fascans...i-no-soma/227/3

Imao, all three rebels got slaughtered off screen. Poor Kuga. Can't say I'm surprised about this outcome; though I wished at least one of them had won.

Honestly not surprised by the result, but feel kinda insulted the way the battle was concluded, they didn't go into detail what made the dishes superior, specially the dishes from Rindou and the Samurai, what made their dishes far superior?

Why was the third seats dish that much inferior to the second seats? What was the clones dish missing to not compete with the originals dish? They didn't go mention anything, it was a farce of a ending of a match that lasted multiple weeks.

Next matchup will be interesting, because we should be seeing Aldini, Megumi and Nakiri take the center stage, and after Souma these three are the main characters in many ways (Well not so much Aldini.).

Erina cannot be shown to be defeated, it would not look good for the series to have her lose after a arc that this meant to show her growing, her losing would be seen as a step backwards.

I can't see both Takumi and Megumi losing, maybe one or the other, this arc is meant to show personal growth and teamwork and the underdog rising. So far we've seen the obvious wins here , and nothing really out of the norm, Souma is expected to overcome odds, Isshiki is a genius who could probably rank higher if he cared to do so, and Erina is the shoe-in for the number one seat in the future.

On paper these two are the weakest members, but they are the ones that can show the most growth, so showing one of them winning should be a given, otherwise the whole training arc will look pointless.

When i read the first page and when i see the judges said "We are going to taste the rebel dish first" ... instantly in my mind "Oh the rebel will lose" it's typical formula the dish that going to be taste/judge first will lose , and there's no way first seat gonna lose to some random fodder. And as usual i don't like how the author over dramatic the after taste effect making the clothes break (don't get me wrong i love seeing naked woman xD) , but for a F-ing green tea to be able to make a people orgasm ?? come on , maybe he put some kind of aphrodisiac drug in it :hehehe:

Was the mangaka trying to rush the fight between the Elites and former Elites? Or was this some sort of move to create an unexpected turn of events? Either way, this was just bad and disappointing. At least show us what the rections to the other two Elites were like.

I think my comment last week rings completely true: "It feels that since that since these are the disposable characters on Souma's team and they may all be taken out. Why draw it out? No one really cares about these matches so speed them up. So they can get back to the important matches so we can end this arc sooner." The problem is that if they are trying to speed this up to move onto the next fight and eventual onto the next arc; that it makes the current fight incredibly predictable. That why I wanted at least one of the rebels to win this round since it would make this arc less predictable. Here let me guess the next few round:

Next chapter they will be shocked by their overwhelming defeat. Eventually they will send out Erina, Takumi, and Megumi -since they are the only ones that haven't fought yet-. So they just don't rely on Isshiki like they were Megishima they keep him back, or they will send Isshiki in Erina place. Central will probably send out Momo, Eizan, and one of the people that fought this round. Momo will fight Megumi, a win for the rebels most likely, and a bond formed between these two shy adorable girls. Takumi or Erina would probably fight Eizan, they will lecture him about his hatred of Souma, causing him to finally cool his head. Erina or Isshiki will fight someone who fought this round if its Erina she will win, if it's isshiki he will probably lose.  The rounds will keep on going until the only ones left are Rindo & Eishi for central and Erina & Souma for the rebels. Granted if Isshiki loses the next round then it will be Erina/Souma, Takumi, and Megumi verse Rindo, Eishi, and whoever left. Making this a 5 round tournament. Then for a surprise twist in the final match will be both side will only cook one dish together. Central will lose due to Eishi problem with working with other people along with Rindo out-there ingredients. While Souma and Erina make food of shipping.
