But Anyway I hereby dub this disgusting phenomenon the "Weekly Shonen Jump Heartbreak haircut" because the two Shonen protagonists that cut their hair in their respective finales disappointed and enraged fans

I really wish he didn't have to do his. He looks weird. I demand Gintoki to make fun of the time skip by cutting his hair. It's a meme itself at this point.

Why would SJ even care though? They wanted the series gone so I can't imagine why they would give a crap who Ichigo paired up with at the end

YES that is what I mean. And no I'd rather a bad hair cut than staying single, I'm not a bigger pairing fan than a fan of the series but I'm still pretty big on pairings admittedly

Makes sense when you think about it. Rukia was the deuteragonist of the series so she deserves to be on the cover alongside Ichigo
