Huh not expecting it but I'm prepared though there WILL BE a revolt if it does happen
It'll be crazy for sure. Though I'm definitely not counting Hisoka out yet, I'm fully prepared for Togashi pull out some surprise twist.
But if he does die I'll just be sitting in the neutral party with snacks to watch the explosion in the fandom.
& ishida Sui did it no less! OMG
Apparently the 'Hisoka spinoff' was originally an April Fool's joke by Ishida, but then he got the green light to go ahead with it from Togashi. So basically, he gets to write a fanfiction and have it be considered at least semi-canon.

if he dies, i'll be in denial mode for several days. But it really looks like he might die... And he isn't even phased, lol

“The country? The skies? You can have them! I'm busy enough protecting what's in front of me. I don't know how many times I failed to protect what I wanted. I have nothing left, so at least if something has fallen at my feet, I'll pick it up."
Newest volume of HxH sells ~650,000 volumes in Japan. Quite impressive, considering how long the series has been on hiatus (and will be again very soon). It will easily achieve 1 million sales by the end of this year.

Chrollo wins the fight, but Hisoka survives by making a contract with his nen. Somehow, I'm not surprised, lol. And the Phantom Troupe is going along to the Dark Continent, which I thought might happen if Chrollo survived. Apparently Hisoka is a very sore loser since now he wants to kill the entire Troupe. There's so many subplots set up for this arc I don't know how to keep track of them all.
It looks like the next chapter should be getting back to the main storyline, so I'm happy about that.

Chapter 357
Oh wow, you don't toy around with Hisoka. He's made the members his prey now... I have to say that I am very conflicted about this chapter. As much as I love Hisoka, his revival rubbed me wrong. We've already been told that a person's nen can be very strong after the user's death b/c, well, of Togashi. Togashi creates the rules. However, it has come to a point where there seems to be no limitation for the practicality of nen, safe for those conditions. It's almost ridiculous how he also completely healed (including remodeling missing limbs... something he couldn't do before I think?). I had a similar gripe with Gon's arm back then in the Greed Island. If the concept of nen is soooooooo powerful, the stakes are lower as it can override death for certain characters.
But hey, it's Hisoka. So I'm gonna shut up cause I don't want him to die
Poor Kurapika, lol. Not only is someone else finishing off his opponents, his main enemy decides to join him on the same trip. It's like everyone is coming together for this big arc- safe for Gon, who is stuck at home writing essays, and Killua, who is going on a world trip with his sister.
Everyone. Get. On. The. Damn. Boat. Already.
Oh and about the subplots: I also get heavily confused. When I get some time, I gotta reread chapters 340-349. But from I understand these are the subplots
Current King of Kakin announces voyage to Dark Continent: under Beyond Netero's guidance; citizens are chosen per lottery to travel on the Black Whale ship, but in reality most are just gonna be tricked into thinking they'll reach the Dark Continent when they actually will be let off on islands before the Dark Continent/ V5 forms V6 with Kakin as new member to stop voyage in vain
14 princes in Hunger Games (via Sacred Beasts) - several subplots created (and many more coming in the future): 4th prince Tserriedenich vs Kurapika/ 9th prince Halkenburg who wants to change the government/ Oito trying to protect her baby girl Wobble and bodyguarded by Kurapika
Zodiacs traveling with an imprisoned Beyond Netero: on Isaac Netero's behalf and approval of V5; will release Beyond once Dark Continent is reached/ 12 Zodiacs divided into several divisions with specific tasks (Intelligence, Defense, Biology, Science, Medical, etc.)/ Beyond's spy in the Zodiac group is Saiyu (the dude with the monkey appearance)
Expedition team (members are followers of Beyond): Ging joins to stop Pariston who threatens V5 to release 5000 Chimera Ants if it prohibits voyage/ Ging becomes leader of Expedition team/ all members have Specialists types, very useful for the voyage
Kurapika's team of bodyguards: calls Melody, Biscuit & co to help him achieve his objective of retrieving the eyes of his brethren/ each of them is bodyguarding one prince
Phantom Troupe vs Hisoka: Hisoka going ham on every member/ Chrollo plans to hold "reunion" on DC ship to steal the money
Dark Continent legends: Don Freeccs wrote Journey to the New World (East and West Edition)/ East Edition in V6's possession/ West Edition possibly still being written by Don Freeccs/ in the past, Issac Netero came back safely from a Dark Continent voyage alongside Zzigg Zoldyck and Linne Hors- d'oeuvre/ Zzigg might have been infected with the "Ai" calamity that manifested itself in Alluka/ Linne is still alive... and we even saw her as a candidate for the election of the 13 chairman (she'll prob become an important character later on)
I'm not sure if the Expedition team will be on the same boat as the others, but this still looks like a deadly meetup... If any of the Zoldyck assassins were gonna show up, it'd be the cherry on the top, lol. All those innocent passengers... Anyways, all these subplots just make everything more exciting.

Thank goodness Hisoka's alive. Just for those people who wanted him dead.

Spoiler
I have some issues with it too. Although, I suppose it's only because of the unique properties of Hisoka's nen (expanding and contracting) that allowed him to revive? Probably not just anyone could do it, I hope, because that just seems too easy. As for his new ability to replace lost limbs, maybe it's something he gained by the whole "nen becoming stronger after death"?
I'm not sure what Kurapika is going to think of Hisoka killing off the Phantom Troupe. He seems very focused on the Scarlet eyes now, so I wonder if he's even still wanting to hunt them himself. If he isn't that might very well change when he realizes Chrollo and the rest are on the ship. But I think getting the eyes from the Fourth Prince will still be priority.

People are kind of going crazy over it in general. There's also a lot of sympathy popping up for the Phantom Troupe all of a sudden, some people actually trying to make them out to be 'not such bad people'.

Chapter 357
The HxH community is also split when it comes to Hisoka's revival and the consequences it will have on the writing in the future. Reviving Meruem was one thing, but Hisoka... I have no idea how exactly he can regrow his limbs with gummy, but for that Togashi would have to go into the biomolucular territorium. And since no one wants to read blocks of scientific terms, we will just have to accept it (as we have always done so in the past with any weird healing ability in mangas). Still seems a bit silly to me though. I agree that his nen became stronger after he was revived. Sort of like a powerup. And yaay, after all this time, Hisoka is becoming relevant in an arc again >_< I'm not even sad that Gon and Killua are gonna be missing, lol.
Getting the eyes SHOULD be his prority, but I mean, we are talking about criminals that have entered a ship and might possibly harm the baby Wobble and Oito. Either way, it will come to a confrontation b/w Kurapika and the Spiders, whether he wants to or not. I feel like Hisoka and Kurapika might form a partnership during the trip. Hisoka can be of help to Kurapika tbh.
Compassion for the Spiders is the last thing a reader should do.
