    Revolution on NarutoForums

Posted 18 July 2015 - 08:26 PM

I'm working on a personal fanfiction project for myself (and many others who were disappointed with Kishimoto's apparent lack of interest and rushing the ending after ironically prolonging a boring war).

What are your fanfictions, headcanons, or speculations about the general world of Naruto?  We only know of five main villages but are there any other smaller villages like Uzumagakure or Amegakure?

What do you think the religions, politics, or economics behind the world?

Are there rifles like there was in part 1?  Is the economy still based on the A, B, C, and D missions like part 1?  Is the Chunin exam still seen as olympics or war as it was suggested in part 1?  Is Amegakure destroyed after part 2 from Konon's death, or does Naruto go and take care of it (instead of neglecting his promises and his friends like chapter 699-700)?

Does your own preferred ending change the outcome of the world?  For example, would you rather have Naruto go with Sasuke and the rest of Team 7 to Otogakure to make sure there is peace in the region to avoid another war instead of having Sasuke just leave and Naruto let him (after his promise to never leave him alone)?

This thread is for you to add your own world-building ideas

Was once Sasuke's biggest fan.

And then chapter 699 happened.

He should have called Kakashi out on his hypocrisy,

instead he was left alone by Naruto...

Kishimoto couldn't have thought it that far if we're going to be honest about it.

The Naruto world build concept wise is very rich, however Kishimoto couldn't use this on his favour and couldn't make his story shine with it

During part 1 we could see very clearly how different each village was thanks to it's ninjas, we got insight on the sand and a few of it's customs and we saw how different they were from the leaf...in part 2 however the sand basically became a new leaf village and we didn't get a very good exploration on the other big villages customs and etc. This could've very easily be resolved by Kishi chosing to focus a little on long term missions to other countries and tournament arcs in other villages and places, it wouldn't be contrived and the world building would be richer

From the small villages, Amegakure got quite the spotlight due to Jiraya x Pein and Konan x  Tobi, the problem is that it was never truly resolved what happened with the village, Konan was the ruler and after her death, there was no one to rule, without a leader, it's not a very happy future for it's denizens since it was a land with lots of civil wars and the such

The other small villages didn't got that much of detail but I suppose that's fine too, since they don't have the necessity of being big players in the story like the big villages have in one way or another

In the religion angle I always felt that Kishi lost the opportunity to  introduce another Jashin priest and go beyond on exploring their powers and beliefs

Currently... there is a lot of problems in the story since the past economy doesn't make sense due to the alliance ( since missions would end up putting two villages against one another eventually which doesn't make sense since the major players are in peace) and from the political side we still don't know how Naruto managed to destroy the so called cycle of hatred and what happened to Amegakure and other small villages ( we don't know if they are part of the alliance or not)

Honestly, I would rather make Naruto travel with Sasuke ( and maybe the rest of team ) or even better make Naruto travel alone so he could understand the world and the people in there better, so then he could be a better leader once he comes back, it would be the kind of maturity and leadership I expected to see in endgame Naruto

This is a great post. I really was drawn into Naruto during Part I largely because of how rich the world was. Not just the different villages and their attitudes, but the neat way he developed jutsu and different types of attacks and whatnot. And it all just disappeared. Reminds me a lot of JK Rowling. The world building started out really rich but as the series progressed it got out of control and fell apart.

World building was dettered from part two's path as the constant struggle within Naruto to both save Sasuke and defeat Akatsuki at the same time took over one of the main reasons why we became so attracted to this manga.

Such a shame, the world itself is a gold mine that could be explored in countless, different ways.

JK Rowling world building wasn't really that much explored in Harry Potter but I was glad with the new things she introduced in each book to keep things fresh and interesting

:headscratch: ?

It used jrpg like dragon quest for world building. Like town center(konoha), mission and reward, and item usage.
It used three or four man team. A common party number in jrpg.

Ninja replace soldier. They are practically the wizard and warrior in the same time. Why need ten thousand army when 100 jounin could smash them.

Basically SAO and some other rip-off's over MMO's and RPG's. Ah, the genres transcend so it's alright. The take on the subject's itself is what matters.
