You can tell that Oda loves nami and luffy and wants them to be reunited asap.
I hope he is gonna give them more development and screentime after watching that godawful naruto ending.
I would not be surprised if Oda shipped Narusaku. I would not be surprised if Oda understood Sakura's character and knew where this was originally going and maybe that's why Kishi truly thinks goda as a friend because he really understood his struggles.

if that is the case, i think it's more of oda unintentionally making his techniques work like kaku or bellamy, rather than having luffy inspired by them. but i think his attacks and his form are based off the animals on the island. his body is almost similar to that huge gorilla on the island with him, bloated stomach with big arms. and it wouldn't be a stretch to say that there was probably a giraffe there too. i think luffy dedicating a special move to someone was a one time thing, since ace is really precious to him. but more than anything, oda probably used nightmare luffy as inspiration for gear 4.
oohhhhhhh, now i get it. do you think if luffy didn't move his body further away to halve the damage, would he still be able to eat doffy's punch? does he not have full confidence in his coa doing all the work?
That's probably true. Those animals must have been kittening monsters lol
Honestly, I'm not sure. They weren't going all out in the previous chapter, and it looked like Luffy was handling the haki well. But Doffy never really hit him his hardest before then. In comparison, if you remember Hody, Luffy outright stated that his haki wasn't strong enough to take those levels of attacks with no repercussions. I'd like to think Doffy is a lot stronger than Hody, so I'm not entirely positive that Luffy would be able to eat a full powered coa attack from Doflamingo.

Yes I know, that cover was icing on the beautiful cake that was this chapter. I can't wait for them to be reunited either, they were always a breath of fresh air for me.

All weekly manga will not be published as it is Golden Week. It is a big time for holidays in Japan.
I see the LuNatics are out in full force today. Don't see it not even in that picture Luffy is only in love with Meat.

All in all, i must say that I'm extremely satisfied with the way things turned out in this chapter. 4th went beyond my expectations.

4th gear is definitely an interesting take on the power and it does work out. I really like it. The question remains, what's the drawback?
Not being able to move like Chopper after monster point. Gear fourth definitely puts a lot of strain to the muscles. So Gear fourth would be a last resort move only.
