Thanks for including me and thanks for sharing,
Frankly, no matter what amount of information floating around will not change the fact that has already happened. And to me personally, it will not change my judgement for this series and the people involved in it.
Sometimes, I even think these sort of info and rumors are deliberately spread around to keep the fandom warms, otherwise the series will keep fading away and will become irrelevant sooner. Something that the content creator will be worried about, since they are preparing for part 3.
Of course I have no intention to discredit the source whatsoever. My point is, at this stage, whatever additional supplement outside of the official source or even in the official source will not amend what has transpired: that the whole NS fans were disregarded, 'deliberately misled', ridiculed, and never thanked for.
Look around and count, how many popular series ended in good notes to the readers. They made fans missed them, instead of cursing them. And whenever they made come back, people are anticipating and waiting.
The recent DBZ movie made about USD 50 mil. The latest remake of Evangelion made about USD 60 mil. Heck, even the recent Doraemon remake made over than USD 80 mil. These are just numbers from theaters. And above all, these are franchises from over a decade ago.
The recent Naruto movie barely made USD 16-17 mil in their homeland. If the rumor is true that the production cost was around USD 12 mil. I'm not sure if it is considered a success, for something that was promoted heavily and for the last movie for the series.

"I'm sorry I didn't believe. But I'd given up believing in so much, until I met you. From the first day I saw you, you were everything I ever wanted to believe in. You can do this, Diana. I know you can...But I have to go."
"What? What are you saying?"
"It's okay, this is what I came here to do. I can save today, but you... you can save the world."
