Hey guys, sorry it's been a while.
So it seems as if I've missed a lot in my absence. I'm currently in HK on holiday and using my spare time to write so I haven't had a whole lot of time to visit the site and keep up to date on the latest developments that have spawned from the Naruto fiasco but I have heard of the leak. Still can't bring myself to watch the movie. I guess I liken what I'm feeling to a wound that you thought time would heal but didn't and now you're left with a scar and the constant pain brought about when you touch it. Don't know if I have enough tolerance to go through that.
Am I any closer to my goal of fixing this mess? Yeah... I guess I am. Every single word that I write down is one step closer to that goal (to reiterate it is my goal to buy out control of SP and make quite a few changes -- not easy but certainly not impossible).
I guess my real question is, to those that have watched the film, was it painful to watch? I know that The Last in itself is so ridiculous that it's easy to laugh at and such but is it painful in the fact that it constantly reminds you how great a pairing NS was. I don't know if the answer will make me consider watching the movie for the hell of it but I am curious.
Also, I saw on Chatte's facebook a while back that there was an interview posted of another mangaka who "may've" said something about hoping the ending was a genjutsu/IT or something. Was that translated? (Link to said article is here)
Thanks again!

Naruto The Last: ThoughtsHopefully this is good enoughNaruto The Last: Thoughts
-Case in point, Kishimoto was right. He was completely right that you do not have to read the manga to understand this movie at all, since it basically retcons everything that ever happened in the manga.
-The opening that showed Kaguya, Hamura and the others were nice, I'll give them that much.
-Naruto's suddenly this popular guy who all the fan girls want to get with now. Sasuke, much?
-Why is Hinata still trying to tell Naruto her feelings for him? Did she not do that during the Pein arc?
-The fact that Sakura is the person giving Hinata love advice, when she's the one chasing around a guy that has literally tried to skewer her more than once is hilarious.
-Why did the Third Hokage keep Kushina's scarf away from Naruto? Pretty sure he would have loved to have that during the time when he was the most hated person in the village.
-Hinata getting bullied is pretty stupid, since I'm pretty sure she would have had a guard or somebody with her in the actual canon material.
-Naruto performing the Shadow clone jutsu before he even read the forbidden scroll is retarded.
-Hinata having this much trouble on whether she should give Naruto a scarf or not is incredibly pathetic.
-Hinata being jealous of fangirls is so OOC, like when has she ever been portrayed as somebody who gets jealous like that? The fact that she's jealous over a scarf made by Naruto's own mother is incredibly sad.
-Sakura telling Hinata that they need to support each other is laughable too, since it's obvious that Sasuke still causes her much pain and suffering.
-Toneri has got to be the worst filler villain ever, since he only exists to further Naruto and Hinata's forced love.
-Is Hinata even a ninja? Why is she hanging on for dear life with a scarf when she can run on walls.
-The whole mission squad is dumb, since Team 8(Hinata, Kiba, and Shino) are a team actually based on tracking.
-Hinata having to be protected by Naruto from literally everything shows just how much she isn't meant for the role of heroine.
-The genjutsu scene between Naruto and Hinata is stupid, since it only guilt trips Naruto into love Hinata. Even more ironic that they have to use Sakura in it.
-Why is Iruka asking the academy students who they would want to spend the end of the world with? Their kittening ninjas!
-Toneri just asking Hinata to marry him so that she could save her sister is creepy as kitten.
-I had to cringe at Hinata drinking water from Naruto's hand, since I was completely disgusted with that moment.
-I like how Hinata lampshades the fact that she's a horrible sister since she's knitting a scarf while Hanabi is somewhere with her eyes gouged out.
-Naruto became the classic tsundere with his confession, which was extremely dumb and unoriginal.
-The whole NaruHina parting moment was so pathetic on Naruto's part.
-Hinata basically being worshipped by everyone and being called Byakugan goddess makes this movie seem like Studio Pierrot's wet dream.
-Hinata getting the Hamura powers and making her stronger than both Naruto and Sasuke really makes me question the validity of this film.
-Shikamaru telling Naruto that he should give up on Hokage if he's going to give up on a girl is ironic, since Naruto did the same thing with Sakura.
-Sakura having to give Naruto romantic advice is completely ironic, given who she loves.
-Kishimoto basically retconning Naruto's feelings for Sakura, and making it seem like it was only for rivalry purposes turns Naruto into a douchebag.
-Sakura's lines about a woman's heart never being able to change is freaking sexist as kitten.
-The whole Naruto saving Sakura from falling off the bird was nice, but heartbreaking for me since they won't ever be able to interact that naturally with each other ever again.
-The small fight scenes were lame.
-ToneHina cookie scene was very suggestive. Yuck.
-It's sad that NH had to copy NaruSasu's combo attack twice in one movie.
-Naruto and the gang just popping up on the moon, and it not being explained once whatsoever how they can actually breathe in space cracked me up so much.
-Kurama drawing on the moon was cute, even though it doesn't fit in with Chapter 700, since he's still sleeping in that chapter.
-Sasuke and Kakashi's role in the movie were so small that can literally be counted on one finger. I feel sorry for the people that wasted their money because they though those two would have larger roles.
-Hate how Tony basically became Sasuke at the end of the movie, and how he's atoning for his sins by living in the moon.
-The NH running through the little moons and showing their past selves was so bland as kitten.
-The NH kiss was even more cliche. Was this ET, or was it Sailor Moon?
-The credits had me dying from all the people there who actually supported NaruSaku now supporting NaruHina.
-Sakura's fake smile had me dying.
-The end scene with Bolt and Himawari I was honestly indifferent too. Liked how they tried to portray Naruto as a good father, when that's obviously not the case in Chapter 700.
-Hinata's still knitting a scarf. No idea why...
-How are Bolt and Himawari even twins? Wasn't Bolt in the academy while sunflower was hanging out with her mother.
-Hinata has short hair because???
-Sasuke not showing up to his best friend/brothers wedding make the whole duration of Shippuden seem pointless, since him and Naruto never talk to each other at all during this movie.
-Why is technology even more advanced than what we have as of right now?
-Why is Naruto so emotionally retarded that he can't tell the difference between love for ramen and love for an actual person?
-This movie explains nothing, and makes the whole Naruto franchise even more ridiculous.
All in all, I think this movie majorly sucks. Nice animation, cliche romance, OOC behavior from pretty much every character. This movie tells me that Hinata is the most important person in Naruto's life, while people like Iruka, Sasuke, Sakura, Jiraiya and the others are put on the back burner. Hinata's suddenly the main character now. Kishimoto lied when he said the ending would be conclusive. The fact that Kishimoto doesn't even know how Sasuke and Sakura got together tells how much he actually gives a kitten about that pairing. I give all my condolences to Junko, who had to sit through the catastrophe.
Ugh...See.... this movie is only enjoyable to fangirls who love shojo (thus loving the romance, no matter how cheesy. (Romance is juicy stuff, especially when it comes to a shonen where it's not a main focus.) You can hear the fangirls throughout the whole movie, especially when the kids show up at the end), beta-males/fanboys of Hinata's VA (or Hinata's character). The rest of the people who watched it were either the ones tricked with the advertising or casual fans who went just to see the last movie (which isn't the last, so guess they were tricked as well). It is incredibly hard to call anyone a Naruto fan if they don't fit any of the groups above, because Hinata is the star of this film. The movie does nothing for Naruto's story, nor does it give any closure whatsoever to this 15 year old story. In fact, it degrades it!
The whole movie revolves around Hinata, literally. A side character with little importance to the overall plot, and frankly, to Naruto. The plot of this movie cannot stand without Hinata at all. She's always at the center of attention, almost every single plot-line introduced throughout this movie involves her. Kushina's scarf? It was introduced for the sake of it creating conflict between Hinata, her scarf troubles and her feelings for Naruto. Toneri? Introduced as a villain wanting to marry Hinata specifically for no apparent reason. Though they disguised this main fact by creating the sage conflict. Hanabi being kidnapped? For the sake of Hinata tagging along the mission, developing Naruto and Hinata's relationship, and causing conflict between the villain and Hinata. Genjutsu trap? For the sake of Naruto (how he came to dream about Hinata's memories when Sai dreamed about his brother is beyond me) witnessing memories of Hinata's feelings for him and him falling in love with her. Hinata and Naruto separated from the rest all the time? For the sake of Naruto falling in love with Hinata. Hinata's scarf? To further deepen the bond between Naruto and Hinata, and also to serve as a major plot point. I could go on and on, but you get the jist of it.
Almost every scene that happens serves as a catalyst to further develop the plot-lines involving her. Someone mentioned to me that the way this movie is set up is the same as the third shippuden movie. Well, they're completely wrong. The third shippuden movie had many different focuses. We have a plot-line that's based on Kakashi, but Kakashi isn't the only main focus. Naruto is, along with Team 7, the rookies, the village, the kages etc. We get background on everybody and their pasts that correlate with the plot. This movie gave everyone their deserved screentime. Shikamaru, Sakura, Sai, Tsunade, Ino, Gaara, Shino, Hinata, Kiba... you name it. Everyone was involved with the crisis between Kakashi and Hiruko and the movie displayed to us the messages shown throughout the manga. The Last DID NOT. What messages did this movie show us? A movie that's supposed to give closure to this story? This movie is completely different from the third shippuden movie.
Not only that, but we have characters who're being used for sake of helping Hinata's plot-lines. We get absolutely nothing about the pasts of the characters at all, nothing about bonds (which should be EMPHASIZED in a movie giving closure to this story!!), just them being used for the sake of the plot. Every other Naruto movie is like that, but this one isn't! It's clear that the animation studio picked traits from the characters that they could use but then discard parts of the character that conflicted with Hinata's plot-lines. Example: Naruto's feelings for Sakura were only a rivalry. Sakura stating how a girls feelings can NEVER change. Funny how they used the MC's love interest as cupid for Hinata's love story. Also funny how all these characters focused so much on Hinata too. Basically the supporting characters helping out the main character, Hinata lol. See? :
Shikamaru - "Hinata! Can you see anything?" (x 5 or 6 during the mission. A tracking mission with only 1 tracker that wasn't supposed to go in the first place. Logic? What's that?)
Sakura - "If you leave Hinata again, you'll get a taste of my fists"
Naruto - "Hinata!!" x100
Toneri - "Hinata, will you knit me a scarf?"
Toneri - "Damn it. So you were knitting this for him and not me?" (Toneri destroys the scarf, which she reacts to in shock. Sakura notices the ripped scarf when she arrives in the room (she and sai rescue Hanabi). Naruto asks for the ripped scarf later on and is holding onto it when he fights Toneri.)
Hinata - "Naruto-kun, please accept my feelings."
Sai - "You kept groaning her name. Hinata, Hinata."
Sakura - "A girls feelings can never change. Never."
Hamura - "Only you can destroy the Tenseigan, Byakugan Princess"
Hamura - "Do not let the world my elder brother created come to an end" (To Hinata) (This scene is serves as the base of the conflict between Toneri and Hinata, leading to him getting angry at her and controlling her so she will obey him)
Naruto - "Hinata!! What did you do? Give Hinata back!"
ahh, and my favourite one...
Naruto (DURING THE TONERI FIGHT. THIS IS DURING THE FINAL PUNCH) - (This is after Toneri tells him to give up during the battle): "Like I'd give up. It takes time to knit a scarf, the deeper the feelings you want to convey, the longer io takes to knit. To convey one's feelings, it takes much much more time. That's why, I can't let it end so easily!"
Even the kittening villain was a mess, he was just a plot device for Naruhina.
Just... stop. This movie just proves how much of a shojo this series has become and how the animation studio were trying to bank in on Nana's fanbase etc. This movie is for shojo fangirls, NH fans, Nana Mizuki/Hinata fanboys, beta-males and casual fans who want to see "the last" movie. Honestly, this movie is a Hinata-wank fest disguised as a Naruto movie, that's it...just call it Hinata-hime: The Movie, because that's all it is. No doubt about it. I could go on as to why the kitten Sasuke was missing and the rest of the BS this movie contains, but I have university papers to write so I can't be screwing up my hands. Sorry, I've been ranting non-stop all over this forum, so I come off as annoying, but I just needed to get this bit off my chest. Ignore me
