Its part of the hype about being the "last movie", a lot of casuals and old naruto fans must be watching

Also we have to be aware of their "no refunds " policy and their marketing fraud.

And for a movie that began with more than 500.000 yen on its opening days the last is actually below expectations.

 

You guys, it was obvious that this movie would be the most grossing naruto movie one to all the hype put on it....however we have to take into account that it is actually not living up to all  of its hype

 

Dare I say, the Last had potential to be much better thanks to Naruto's popularity status but they f**cked up turning the movie into a damn shoujo.

As someone from 2ch said this movie is for "Hinata fanboys and insecure girls"

"Supposedly" is a key word, we can't actually say exactly how many people wanted refunds. I'd guess a lot more then you'd think, most of  the naruto fandom didn't like the movie for reasons already stated.

 

I  had no doubts the last was going to be the highest grossing naruto movie, all the hype put onto it, brought back old fans looking for closure, young kids who are watching and a lot of curious casuals wanting to see "the end" of a 15 year franchise, though as I already stated here, I doubt the last will live up to its hype, for the quantity of the marketing, the quantity of cinemas in which the movie appeared...it should be doing a lot more due to being the "end film" of a 15 year old famous and renowed franchise.

personnaly, I don't really care about how much money they earned or whatever...just the fact that a lot of people dislike it is enough for me!

What bothers me, is that less people had a problem accepting the last chapters, which are more important than that kitten movie, imo !

Just because a movie is a box-office hit doesn't mean it ain't kitten.

 

If a movie is a hit, its either a) amazingly good or b) amazingly kitten. Average to good movies seem to remain just that...average. Its the new trend I suppose- 'Average is boring but kitten is entertaining'.

I doubt the number of people who requested refunds would run into the hundreds of thousands. Such a large amount of disinclined fans contradicts how well its premiere did at the box office.

 

There is a good chance that it will continue to do well until it's removed from theatres. If not with the home fans then by appealing to the international fanbase. I'll repost my estimates from yesterday.

 

For now, the revenue estimates and projections of what The Last will earn. Seven countries with an overall population amounting to roughly 850,000,000 is a far cry from the 126,000,000 in Japan - even if the anime/manga industries is a major component to their economy compared to the aforementioned foreign countries.

Turnout for the film and its merchandise could only be 0.1% of that potential foreign market, but the cumulative amount will equal 850,000 people. Now what do you think is the sales price for a standard ticket? Let's go with a conservative estimate of $5.00. Now multiply that rate by the 0.1 estimate, and it comes out to about 4.25 million USD. Converted into Yen, that's ¥507 million, or 29% of the overall box office - more than enough to put The Last above the expected mark at ¥2.25 billion.

That's almost an entire billion increase in profit over RtN, a film that ended with ¥1.48 billion.

 

The 1.75 billion figure is a bit outdated, however.

My guess on the concensus is that certain Naruto movies that came before this one are better. At best this movie is OK and in no way deserves a higher rating than that.

They keep saying this because deep down, they know NH had no development (even though, I wouldn't be surprised if some of them really think NH was intended to be endgame from the beginning of the manga :sigh:) 

Anyway, they can say whatever they want, that won't change a thing. They just keep trying to put NS down (and say it was just a mislead or whatever ) so NH can "shine" or be more "logic" which doesn't make any sense!

They funny thing is that why nh fans have not used the rivalry thing to attack us.
