And once again, this proved that neji died for absolutely NOTHING ! He was way more developed than a lot of other characters...Hinata being one of them..I really liked Neji...
It's good to see some rational NH fans...at least they care about naruto and hinata's character development ...

The storyline portrayed in the film wasn't the original conception from the writers in Pierrot's studio. Remember that tidbit about Kishi analysing the script and revising it again and again to the point that the studio was becoming irritated with him? Just imagine how debauched it would have been had the companion of that novelised rendition been allowed to stay. We might be seeing some quasi-erotica for older teenagers and adults with Naruto and Hinata bathing together in the same hot spring.  It would be yet another jibe at the NaruSaku relationship since it's always been one of Naruto's perverted fantasies to see Sakura's bare figure. Anything is acceptable in demolishing Sakura's character while propping Hinata up on a pedestal.

I have to say ramenanmitsu's comments on why Sasuke's reputation did not get tarnished among Japanese fans makes a lot of sense to me.

 

Many here-- myself included -- hate the personality that Sasuke has , hate the bad things he's done and hate the way he treated Naruto and Sakura. But the thing is Sasuke is the antagonist . He is supposed to have a dark nature, he is supposed to create conflicts, he is supposed to be the complete opposite of Naruto. 

 

This is what people expect from him--An arrogant, calculating guy who gives more importance to seeking power and answers rather than friendship and family. Its how he was characterized and he pretty much maintains that persona in 699 and the Last. And that's the thing... Sakura was destroyed in 699 and Naruto was annihilated in the Last. Their words and actions in 699 and the Last conflicted with everything they did/said before. 

 

Sakura regressed, she ignored Naruto and went back to her selfish best. It was as if her entire journey meant nothing, all of the things she learnt along the way were rendered pointless. Naruto...stopped being Naruto. He became immature and selfish, he disrespected his parents, teachers and friends and he forgot everything he stood for as a child.

 

Sasuke though comes to an understanding with Naruto, typically rejects Sakura's advances and then goes off on his own. Basically, out of the three of them, he is the one that remained the same the most. People had little to complain about him. It was also a bonus that he was fortunate enough to not get wrecked by the abomination that is 'The Last'. Heck, he actually managed to get sympathy from people because he was ignored in the movie.

 

SP's hatred of Sasuke turned out to be a blessing in disguise for his character in the end.

I sometimes feel like I read a different manga. I just don't understand what makes Sasuke so popular. But to each their own. And I have co planned about this enoug so I should probably just shut up, but I hate how Naruto has been totally destroyed by the Last and the NH pairing. From what Ramen seeme to be saying, he rest of Team 7 seems to get passes, but Naruto will always be the worst scumbag. Now, I a, not defending stuff like calling Obito the coolest guy. But has there ever been a story where the titular character was so thoroughly destroyed? And as someone who started Naruto all those years ago as a teenage boy and was drawn to Naruto's character, this ending leaves me pretty bitter. Particularly since it seems like everything is peachy for Sasuke and Hinata.

Edit: I should add that I guess I do understand why Sasuke could be popular as a villain. But I feel like he was never used to his potential thanks to Kishi's love affair with the Uchiha.

True but for all we know  Kikitten made it even worse then it was we don't really know  either way he could have stopped all this but he didn't  to me it only speaks that he's ok with the result he had overall  . The SOB even gloated and laughed at us for the NS parting away scene with the "rivalry" thing he was mocking us what an kitten kittening kitten  .  But Thank god that they removed that NH porn fest   .

Yeah. Which in a way tells you who SP truly are after and it's a shame because it's like all they can think of is romance. This series isn't romance but that's not to say it can't end with one. NaruSaku was a pairing that can happen at any genre, while others need redefined logic to their likings. Take The Last. The movie is pure shoujo and no one can say otherwise. The actions are much less than any other movies, yet it's supposed to be Shounen. What? I read it for story but action is like the very second. That's like One Piece doing that. Could you imagine how insane that would be?
Let me say this: SS and NH type of relationship could work when done from the top and alteration has to be made. Sakura has to drop her real personality and Sasuke has to be sympathetic to her to make SS work. Naruto has to drop his personality and be way too calmed and serious as Hinata remain the same to make it work. Think about it. A lot of series with shy or no confidence girl usually pair up with a guy who is bored at life or not really know what to expect. A energetic girl usually ends up with a guy who is goofy in any ways and/or energetic that they have to calm him down. The funny thing is Fairy Tail once parallel Naruto pairings because it had similar traits, even for SK. Sadly, money spoke and the rest is history.
So they too wrote reviews? Wow, the plot thickens.
I pretty much went the same route as you did on anti. I'm planning to write my last LAPs concerning on Naruto and tomorrow is part 1. I got my materials ready.

Hope to see your LAP soon. One good thing about this ending was that it made neutral fans who didn't care about pairings see that NH couldn't have happened without butchering Naruto's character. It would have never worked. So kudos to SP for that.

It's funny, looking back we said that we're fans of the series and the characters before the pairing, but in hindsight, it's easy to see how much Naruto and Sakura were interconnected through the pairing. NS didn't happen, which on its own might have been fine, but the result of NS not happening was the complete destruction of both characters equally, so much so that it's impossible to recognize either one of them. Naruto was forced to be a piece of scum, and Sakura turned into a superficial shallow woman. Looking back, it's clear just how much their NS depended on their relationship, and how much their characters depended on NS.
Just goes to show how terrible they both became.

I will see what I can find. Also, I absolutely disagree to your opinion of Sakura being "equally" as worse Naruto in THE LAST, because Naruto was a man who didn't try to help Hinata in danger because she dumped him and Sakura would NEVER abandon a friend whose life is in danger just because he/she doesn't like her back. Saying that her having shallow feelings are just as worse as Naruto abandoning his friend in danger, having equally shallow feelings and being a hypocrite only looks to me like you are justifying Naruto and his actions in the movie.

Sorry, but we have to agree to disagree here because I cringe when I read this kind of statement. Feel free to express it when not quoting me though.

Keep in mind that it was originally Pierrot's idea for a movie dedicated to nH's culmination. Kishi had no idea how these relationships came together. There was no intention of trying to justify them with writing because he's a self-admitted dimwit when it comes to romance. The "rivalry" comment, assuming it was derived from Kishi's thought process and not Pierrot's, was a means to an end for trying to to undervalue the importance of Naruto's bond with Sakura while reinforcing the virtually nonexistent relationship that existed between Naruto and Hinata in the manga. It was despicable, yes, but ultimately it would have never existed had it not been for Pierrot's insistence for creating a shoujo based in the Naruto universe.

very good, seems like the man has lost any credibility he had left, good luck with your spin-off and your next manga Kishimoto.

About Naruto he's now officially one of the worst main character ever, they really did a number on him beyond any kind of redemption possible but beyond any particular character the manga itself has been destroyed. Maybe there's still hope and the Naruto franchise will disappear once and for all.
