Doesn't the general fandom agree that the quality of the Manga went down after the Pain Arc? I personally loved it (leaving out the confession of course which SP twisted and changed in every way) and thought that Pain/ Nagato was the last good villain the manga had.

I didn't think the confession was a big deal if anything I thought it was gonna play a huge part at Hinata's future development, but alas it was never addressed again.

After pein arc we had
Kage Summit arc, which was bad mainly because cringe-worth team seven drama, Naruto acting like a stupid, Sakura acting with even bigger stupidness, Sasuke crazy rampage going nowhere

Then we had confining the jinchuriki arc: which was pretty so-so thanks to Kushina appereance, unfortunately it was a setup to the worst of all arcs


War arc: convoluted plot, ressurected enemies, lack of focus, lack of impact, lack of mortality, asspulls at any given time. The worst arc, Kishi could have done a real ninja war, Akatsuki could have swayed some small countries for its side for example and used rogue ninja, instead of fodderising white zetsu

in my honest opinion, Obito should have been the final villain.

Obito had some very real reasons for becoming a villain. In my opinion, though, his awesomeness was ruined by Kishi's stupid "Spartacus" moment. 

 

Obito: I am the villain!

 

Madara: No! I am the villain!

 

Zetsu: You aren't! I am the villain!

 

Kaguya: I am the real villain!

 

The whole "who is the real mastermind" thing felt very cheap to me.

The whole Tobi;  am I Obito!? No wait, I'm Madara---no wait I really am Obito! kitten was cool...and then the whole "Here's the real Madara that I was working with/for the whole time..." Set in. ( don't get me wrong I LIKE Madara...but then the villain in charge ping-pong match got annoying.)

I didn't really think that it was that big of a deal, I got the impression that Naruto was separating the different versions of Obito. When he made the statement, he was talking about the young Obito that wanted to be Hokage, and the current Obito that mirrored that sentiment while also admitting that he made a ton of mistakes, and that he was willing to work to overcome (and eventually die) to atone for those mistakes. It wasn't the best thing to say, but what else are you supposed to say when someone dies in front of you protecting you lol

Yeah, I think so. I think that the quality went downhill a bit, but I still think Obito was a great villain. All that followed were garbage.

Even though Obito reveal as tobi was pretty... dumb and uncreative, I liked his character, I mean he was the coolest after all

I think he could have been handled better though, Kishi did a poor job out of him

I liked the idea of a "God" as the final villain, but the execution of Kaguya was terrible

I hated him for killing Naruto's parents and his mentor; I hated him for robbing Naruto of his childhood; I hated him for setting up Kurama on Konoha; I hated him for starting a new war all for the sake of a girl who has died so many yrs ago. But then we got the flashbacks and his representation in the anime: Both factors added more substance into his character in my eyes. While I can't forgive Obito for all the past crimes he has commited, I started at least to tolerate him. The worst villain in my eyes is without doubt Kaguya Ootsuki. Stupid fight and stupid villain.

Back then, I thought the same thing about her confession, but instead of using it as a chance to develop her character,KIshi chose to ignore Naruto respoinding to it. And when I saw SP's handling of this moment, I've had it up till here. The confession was ruined in my eyes and tainted with SP's and Kishi's lies.

Omg! I totally forgot the Kushina Arc (that's what I usually prefer to call it)! Of course, that is one of my favorite arcs in the Manga at all. The anime episodes to this arc are one of the best ones in the entire anime. Little Correction: Quality of the manga went down after Kushina Arc in my eyes.

To me it all started going downhill with the war arc. Pretty cool concept. Let the current generation prove their worth in an actual war against the resurrected corpses of both old enemies and allies. Too bad it only ever really focused on Naruto and Sasuke. Too many missed opportunities. *cough* Sakura vs. Chiyo *cough*

 

Then the Kaguya arc happened. Stupid villain. Stupid attempt at a "creation myth". Stupid fight. Stupid ending.

That war arc. It was so bad. So so bad. I mean, some handpicked chapters and moments are not included in my hatred, but the rest of the war arc was just horrible. Everything was just so bad. That war had such a huge potential to be something great, but it ended up being so boring and bland that I honestly only vaguely remember what happened. So many background stories, some of them for characters we've never even seen before. Ugh, horrible.

Joking, joking. I would probably be like "If things had been different...you would have been a man I could have looked up too." Or something. But you could be right about him separating the past and present Obito...but I still didn't think it was appropriate.
Obito reminds me of what a Dark Naruto who lost his Sakura-chan would be like...and I like the idea of it

I'm different, I generally wait until I know more about a character before making a judgement on them, and once I do, it's either I like you, or I really don't care about you. I don't really ever hate characters, Sasuke pushed the envelope though, and I hate Hinata lol
