So people are trying to tell me Hinata wasn't a minor character up to this movie... If they can give me 5 important moments involving her, then I'll agree to it. Right now the claim is she's not minor because she's part of the Konaha 12 hurdur
She had literally 7 moment talking to Naruto. but are they important ( I just revisit her chapter where she talk to Naruto for a chapter in my fanfic.)
From part 1
1- She tried to get Naruto to cheat through the Chunin exam. Naruto refuse and made his pledge to be Hokage, even if he'll stay a genin his entire life. (Notice that Sakura was in comparaison ready to give up the test for NAruto, eliminate her entire team, including Sasuke. )
2- She give Naruto ointment after his fight with Kiba (Kurenai explain to Naruto what it does). Naruto thanks her but than forget about her and offer some to Sakura.
3- Naruto pledge to beat Neji and the Neji fight( basically Neji was an arrogant a**hole to Hinata, Naruto was being a good guy here, he didn't hate Neji personally for that
From part 2
1- Their 1st reunion. Hinata blushing, Naruto didn't notice. Talk more to Kiba than any member of team Kurenai in this chapter.
2- Sasuke rescue mission. She was there more for her Byakugan to see through Kabuto. They didn't really talk here.
3- Pain Invasion : Sacrifice, confess didn't die though, brake Naruto will to not come, unleash Naruto in 6 tails state that grew to 8 tails states and almost ended up killing Naruto. He turn back, was happy that she didn't die( she's in the rookie 9 circle after all so she was closest than other people, he didn't knew about Kakashi). He never comeback about her confession, and he said still having feeling for Sakura to Sai in the next arc
N.B Plus when we think about it, Deva path was the only one remaining and was weaken. They understand the 5 sec window by this point and Deva can't kill Naruto since they needed to extract the Kyubbi. She let emotion cloud her judgement instead of strategy (go with other people, attack in different range and you could OP Deva )
4- Neji's death to protect Hinata who protect Naruto. Naruto was furious about himself because he couldn't protect a close comrade. Hinata recomfort him a little than Kurama help him afterward. Chapter end with the INFAMOUS hand holding, that end up having no signification thanks to the next chapter.
N.B.2: ONE OF THE WORST DEATH IN THE MANGA. I MEAN DAMN NEJI LIKE THAT. Remember part 1, against Kidomaru, that guy was untouchable. It was wood spike. Again, it was Tobi. He needed Naruto alive for the plan, so the attack wasn't meant to be deadly. Plus we already see Naruto healing power. Hinata could have done the rotation. Neji could have done rotation or a 64 palm defensive or a 128 palm defensive. Alliance could have put the stone wall in front of Naruto instead of trying to contain the 10 tailed beast, you know that this kind of jutsu won't contain a reuglar tailed beast, even less the 10 tails. Neji's death is use in 699 just to put Hinata close to Naruto. A shame.
In other word, no, they didn't have any material to make the pairing canon. they end up rewriting the story, forget what happen in the pass, make the main character OOC and irrelevant, kill a cool character all to made a side character relevant. YEP THAT'S SUCK.
An NH movie need you to kill every character you know to happen. Their is no romance material in what I wrote up here. I'm sad because an NS movie write itself easily. I mean the main difference is that NS has development, foreshadow and parallel during the whole manga, not 7 moment that doesn't mean anything (check my latest post in 699-700 the end, I tried to wrote every NS moment from Naruto and Sakura POV) There is more than 7 lol. And it's more significant. It's a waste
