Just trying to make sense of the ending is probably whats making how he delivered this ending an even worse pill to swallow.

 

I mean lol, just looking at it from a non pairing perspective this is just wow.

 

The Naruto in that chapter isn't the Naruto I came to cherish as a protagonist. It was like a completely different person the way he was treating his son.

 

Our last images of Sakura in a home after the progress she made since part 2 was like looking at part 1 Sakura, no progression, no change. We should have seen her acting as the head of the medical division or by Naruto's side helping him run the village.

 

None of the characters were done any proper justice in the ending. The previous kages illustrated in terrible states after being revered for their positions, older character either looking like kitten or just plain miserable while being relegated to "pair the spares" fodder for the sake of this dumb New Era Project. No real insight into the state of the world, the villages and where everyone is now, just panels of hideous kids and a whole lot of nothing happening.

 

NS not happening is just part of a bigger problem I have with this chapter.

 

I genuinely loved Naruto / Sakura interactions and to see absolutely nothing happen between them during these past 2 chapters is just unacceptable. What happened to the promise? confession? Not even a thanks from Sakura after he played the part of delivery boy. Once Sasuke is back time to ditch the orange baboon lmfao.

 

In the end we got miserable characters, ugly kids and lack of real conclusion.

 

Naruto is hokage but is neglectful and tells his son to suck it up. Was not even given the chance to confess about how he felt about Sakura, couldn't succeed where his godfather who he loved failed and couldn't even fulfill his dead mother's wish and find a girl like her. His dead left with the memory of him finding the girl but having issues and doesn't know in the end he failed.

 

Sakura is depicted as a housewife detached from her friends and family. Progress wiped away in one panel.

 

Sasuke is as I suspected a deadbeat that got everything for nothing.

 

The characters were betrayed. And the acceptance of this terrible execution just cause the OTP happened pisses me off royally pairing preference aside.

 

It just further drives my point that they never gave a kitten about the characters and because this war happened for a decade became a matter of who was right.

 

I was 16 when I got into Naruto. Believed NaruHina / SasuSaku was the way to go till I got to part 2 and realised Sasuke was a kittenhead. I am in my mid twenties now and wasted years for a half-baked conclusion.

 

Man this hurts. Conclusive ending be damned.

Pairings are like a miniscule part of the entire fandom. Anybody that wanted a good story just basically hated this ending.

From what I've seen everyone is pretty disappointed. Another parallel with the Harry Potter ending. Both were hated.

 

You can't compare this with HP7 ending.

At least Ginny was useful and a good person and a Weasley, and had her part to play, and plus her and Harry's relationship was given some mention.

Seriously, the first time Naruto put Hinata and "love" together was in the kittening last chapter. Complete ass pull, the first time he ever expressed any kind of romantic interest in her was in the last chapter. How can you compare that with HP?

Also, the main girl character didn't end up with an kitten that tried to kill her repeated, only to kittening get his ass kicked and then decided to stop and become "good".

At least HP had a progression instead of a complete asspull that is this. Seriously, like 7 chapters ago, Sasuke kittening put Sakura in a genjutsu where he stabbed her in the stomach and then said he NEVER had any interest in her.

WTFFF.... HP is light years above this kitten.

i really  didnt think that it would hurt this much  i felt like i lost some one close to me   . maybe kishi thinks he surprised the readers with his genius deception skills .  .  well kishi u  failed big time . 

 

what a shame  the most beautiful love story . got ruined in 1 chapter .   i wont say anything about sakura  cause its kishi  (the teenager writer cause he prefers the shallow love  and  a character like sasuke .  maybe he sees himself in sasuke  ? it will tell us why everything was about sasuke  ) .

 

 

 and naruto  ooh naruto my man (its only u in this manga am glad my name here  is (only naruto) . am sure u guys noticed that he was hiding  because he knew sakura still loves sasuke  and he cant do anything about it . but hurting and trying to let sakura go after that .  . .  and  if i was him i would do the same thing exactly . 

 

am still at the beginning of this thread . i want to read all of your comments guys . to let it go . so go easy on kishi guys .

Which, as I said above, pretty much confirms he was forced to make NH/SS, and that's why he went out of his way to repeatedly show SS was dead on both sides and them make the epilogue as stupid and ridiculous as possible as a way to say "This isn't what I wanted, so I'll make this extra stupid so people realize this.".

THIS. We NaruSaku fans cared about the whole story. All the other fans outside, NaruHina or SasuSaku. they are happy and they don't give a kitten about the remaining of the manga. They don't give a kitten about Naruto and Sasuke neglecting their kids, they don't give a kitten about Naruto working on a desk when he said he would be a different Hokage, they don't give a kitten about the fact Naruto loves Sakura all along, they don't give a kitten about the fact that the bijuus are nowhere to be seen in the end, we only see Kuram for one second. It's just all so rushed it's painful really.

This series last for so long, it deserved a longer ending, more conclusive, better done. Something better written, not rushed.

now that I'm reading comments like this... I wonder if Kishismoto did it on purpose. to make the ending kitten?

 

maybe he did it... not because he's a sell out.. but because they forced him to change the pairings.

You'll still be continuing "Wilderness" in light of this right? It's such a good story, I'd hate not see it finished, although Id understand if you couldn't lol...

 

At this point I don't see how I can finish Wilderness.  My heart would be unable to do it convincingly.  But I'm not going to make any definite decisions right now.

 

If anything, I will be more inclined to finish Just Wear That Dress.  The plot of that story is still more or less intact -- unless there was something conclusive about Gaara's shipping future that Nate didn't tell me.  And I personally love that story best of my Naruto fics.

 

We'll see.  Right now I'm not thrilled with the idea of honoring Kishimoto through anything I write.  I've had enough of him for a while.

Well, that pretty much confirms what I was thinking. He was forced to end it with NH/SS (whether by his editors or SP) and that's why he went out of his way to make it seem ridiculous. That's why he:
-Constantly showed Sasuke insulting Sakura, saying he couldn't care less if she died, specifically saying he had no reason to like her, saying (even to himself in his own head) that Naruto's his only friend and the only person he has a bond with ect.
-Having Kakashi say "Sakura's not trying or wanting to make you hers! She only wants to save you!".
-Going out of his way to make the last two chapters stupid and ridiculous (Garaa's hair, fat Anko, Sai an Choji's kids, Naruto's kids, Naruto of all people making his son feel lonely and neglected, then telling him to suck it up ect.)
-And even then leaving hints to show it's not what he wanted. Naruto (and most other people) not seeming very happy in life, Sakura looking even more like Kushina (Made her the same height in and gave her the same bangs in "The Last", and even gave her the hair clip in the epilogue), SS's kid lookin more like Karin ect.
It's like it was his way of saying "This isn't what I wanted, so I'll make it extra stupid and pathetic so people will realize it.".
So basically I just adds to my argument that 699/700 aren't canon and the NS was meant as end game right until the end.

... Aside from the Bat Bogey Hex and being a good Chaser what the heck did Ginny do in the series? She was useless, Luna was more relevant and useful then her.

 

I'm sorry but Harry showed absolute ZERO interest in Ginny until she magically became relevant in book 6 after being a 3rd string character with a line here or there every book before. The only time she had a role was in book 2. Other than that she did nothing. Not even in the final book did she do much of anything. She is just as badly developed as Hinata is.

 

Ginny's role in the HP series was to be Harry's fanboy that got with him in the end, just like another annoying stalker in Hinata.

 

They're only role in the series was to lay on their backs and have the heroes children with ZERO development.

 

Also Ron was a massive douche to Hermione throughout the series, I don't care if it was the whole you argue because you like each other he did a lot of things to her that was pretty stupid and rude.

 

Also when I was comparing this to HP I meant the ending, OR how I like to call it the crapilogue. The Harry Potter epilogue with names such as Hugo and Albus Severus is hated by pretty much everybody in the fandom and I would agree that I would take Hugu and Albus over the likes of Baruto and Salad.

to be fair i totally agree, she was useless but atleast it was hinted harry had feelings for her, and somewhat they did make sense. His Jealousy when she was kissing Dean etc unlike NH. Though he did have a weird sensation when he heard Ginny was dating Micheal
