He took them off his website because of the massive kitten storm it caused. There have been several conflicting reports that say that this is all a work. Everyone take a deep breath and wait until the manga releases.

I guess since everyone is posting their thoughts on the ending I'd do so too, maybe they will change slightly when the actual chapters hit but I don't think so.

 

Warning this gets a little long and rambly.

 

I was never really that active on the site honestly I got into shipping and out of shipping within a year, not sure why maybe it was the fact that my time zones never aligned with when the site was most active limiting my enjoyment but more probably I think I just grew numb to shipping in general, not the people, not the site and especially not the community but just the concept of it.

 

Not to say I didn't want Naruto and Sakura to end up together, I believed they were the best pairing in the series and I still do and I wish they were canon but sadly they aren't. I'm usually pretty perceptive when it comes to character interactions and details which will become important later so for that reason I don't feel I was wrong to think they would end up together no one on this site should feel that way, they had development, they had parallels that though lazy as a storytelling technique were effective but in the end that's not what Kishimoto felt and all I want to know is why?

 

I've seen many bashing Kishi and not without reason but maybe I'm alone in this thought but even though his writing has dropped considerably in quality from Part 1 to Part 2 and again around the Pain Arc  I do believe the man knew what he was doing and where he wanted the series to end up which makes it all the more jarring at how it didn't happen which in turn makes me question it, this does not feel like a natural storytelling decision, this does not feel like what's right for the story, in all honesty this reeks of some kind of outside interference.

 

Maybe it was editorial, it makes sense plenty of authors have had their wishes changed at the whim of the editor as much as we all like NaruSaku I don't think we can deny we weren't the most popular of the main ships.

 

Maybe Kishi sold out, he began to doubt his own intentions or wanted to appeal to as many people as possible, as I said we weren't the most popular, better to go with what will please 2/3 of people as opposed to 1/3.

 

Whatever the reason was I believe it had to have been recent, within this year at least even up to the end we had Minato compare Sakura to Kushina immediately after we had Naruto and Hinata hold hands, why have that if it wasn't your intention to have them end up together?

Maybe I'm being a Kishi apologist but I do want to give the man the benefit of the doubt at least for now.

I would love to hear his uncut thoughts on the ending and what he wished he had done or regretted doing or not doing over the course of the series once all this is over I think it'd would be very interesting.

 

I'm not angry I don't feel I ever can be I'm just disappointed, I didn't get into Naruto nearly 10 years ago because of wanting 2 characters to end up together, romance was the furthest thing in my mind for the series and in all honesty when I did have to think about it back then I was fine with NaruHina and SasuSaku as outcomes just as I was fine with NaruSaku so maybe I will be able to revert back to that more simple time but  I don't think anyone can deny that Kishi planted the seeds for NaruSaku to be a possibility (I won't say an inevitability because there always was the threat of another ship being chosen) but it just leaves me asking why? Why plant the seeds if nothing is going to grow from it?

 

How I feel about the final pairings? I never hated them I just preferred NaruSaku and as I said back 10 years ago I could easily enjoy all 3, I'm just annoyed that whatever development they get happens off screen, by the looks of it The Last will deal with Naruto and Hinata's romance but that should not have been relegated to a movie it should of happened in the manga if it was planned and given time I could easily like a SasuSaku development that deals with Sasuke trying to regain Sakura's trust after his change of heart but that's not going to happen, it all happens off screen and makes Sakura's character terrible in the process.

 

Everyone else just annoys me with the exception of ShikaTema, I was predicting an ending like Digimon we would get 1 to 3 canon ships and everyone else would have children with unnamed spouses, I find the whole pairing up everyone for the sake of convenience to be lazy, I find it lazy in most fanfics and I especially find it lazy here. I mean Chouji and Karui? Really? Though one thing I do quite like is how the Ino-Shika-Cho combination is steadily being taken over by women, you went from an all male team to 2 men and 1 female and now 2 females and 1 man (at least I think Ino's child is a girl, I think, I hope).

 

But speaking of women it does annoy me to see Sakura relegated to housewife and by the looks of it she might be a single mom but one thing that does give me some consolation is you can see her ninja uniform under her apron, so she still looks active unlike Kushina's housewife attire.

 

As I've said I'm not angry just disappointed, disappointed that my ship didn't become canon but more disappointed for all those that cared more about shipping Naruto and Sakura then I ever did. I really enjoyed reading all your theories or your fanfics or looking at your art so thanks for all that guys I really do mean it. I hope you come out of this smelling like roses.

 

To NaruHina and SasuSaku fans if for whatever reason you're reading this. Congratulations. Maybe you saw something that I never did and I'm happy to see you guys got what you wanted and I really do mean that, as much as this ending stings and as hated as its going to be around these parts in all honesty more people will like this ending than hate it and maybe that's what forced Kishimoto's hand and maybe at the end of the day that's all that really matters?

 

So that's most things off my chest sorry it got so long and sorry if I come off as depressing or an apologist but it is truly how I feel, I made my peace with NaruHina and SasuSaku happening a long time ago and I hope I can eventually return to shipping all 3 like I did once upon a time so in saying that I'm going to go hunt out some great NH and SS fanfics to see if they can help me. NS will always remain my OTP and I will never not enjoy but I'm going to keep myself open to other possibilities from now on.

And the conspiracy theories continue   I know this week was going to be a sh*tstorm but woow I am so lost and empty as a NS fan right now right now i feel like we have gun pointed at us and the trigger isnt being pulled.

What the hell is Kishi doing?! Dear god man! Does he have no respect for the series left at all?! Honestly, the way he's doing this, I'm seriously glad NS didn't happen. I'd hate to see how he'd have ruined their kids. I'm glad NS has nothing to do with this horrible, ridiculous, debacle. I'd rather just consider 698 the last chapter and make my own end then have anything at all to do with this. This is disgusting.

OK somebody wants hope, It's not that hard to fake the Manga pics, just put some whisker marks on Hinata's kid, and change the text on the page with Sakura.

 

Do I beleive what I wrote? Nope , the artwork for the kids came before the manga spoilers came so that pretty much confirms that the manga ended how we feared.
