yep. that's why he drew direct parallels that cannot be argued between sakura and kushina and had naruto and sakura have the most development. The story goes that the girl falls for the guy she thought was a loser when he shows himself to be strong and love the parts of herself she hates (kushina's hair, her forehead). Kushina referred to that part of herself as the thread of fate that brought her to the man destined for her. Kishi drew that parallel halfway through the story on purpose. We know naruto is the only one that loves her forehead (chp 3). It was Kishi's way of saying that it will bring Sakura to the man destined for her, Naruto.

Platonic, no way. Multiple characters have brought up the fact that sakura has hidden and unrealized feelings for Naruto and we know naruto loves her. thats no secret. to not even have a good explanation for why all that development and all these parallels if NH is going to be canon makes no sense, and he wouldnt have time to give one. which makes me think he won't have to. He just has to show that moment Kushina realized who Minato was to her in the character of Sakura.

Me either but he wouldve wasted all his own time. Characters have to know one another. a love story has to be played out on screen over a length of time. Especially in a story this big. To shove in development in a movie, which cant be long enough anyway, makes for a crap romance. The only real love story is Naruto and Sakura. Sakura and Naruto can't know anyone better than they do each other, and seeing as they both have showed feelings for each other, it makes it a love story, not just a strong friendship.

I am kinda of afraid that NH. Kishi has pulled kitten out of his ass so many times that I lost count.

 

The biggest one is retconing Itachi as a good guy. Its a total rip off from MGS3 ending.

it is absolute bs. Sakura NEVER got a movie dedicated to her. Sure she's been a main but she's never been SEEMINGLY relevant to this extent. They're shoving Hinata down our throats and it's distasteful but for now I'm just gonna believe that it's just "great" marketing. Hopefully the movie is nothing as it seems because if it is I may not watch it all...

 

Of course! Kishi's sketches of the women was adamant about thrusting their newly developed physical appeal in our faces. What is there to expect of them besides some obligatory eye candy for the male viewers? Maybe that's the reason why Sakura's outfit and figure was made less provocative - why nearly every other female from the K11 is outfitted with a sleeveless top like Sakura's qipao dress, a sash, and some low cut revealing shorts/fishnet. The artists and publicists liked the outgoing, healthy, and attractive look that Sakura's outfit provides, but they didn't care for the attractive pink haired woman already inside of it, so they elected to fit it on some other characters while downgrading Sakura's looks in the process.  

 

I dislike this movie's conceptual ideas even more now.
