IMO, she didn't do it because of Sasuke himself, she punched Sai because she knew how much Sai's words were harming Naruto.

Yeah, if it wasn't for the later chapter, I would have thought elsewhere. That one where Naruto stopped himself proved that Sakura was doing for his sake since he was boiling hot whenever Sasuke is brought up in a negative to Naruto. Remember how Sakura was like "Oh no, he is really at the boiling point." Plus, why you think Sai caught on that Sakura is being too nice for Naruto.

She knew how much Naruto was enraged, but stopped him since she didn't want him to get in trouble. So instead she punched Sai herself in Naruto's stead so that he could be satisfied without having to take action.

 

That's not to say that she wasn't angry herself at Sai's words, but if she were only thinking about her own feelings she wouldn't have bothered to first stop Naruto, she would've just skipped that and gone straight to punch Sai.

That's it. It's no wonder that arc beginning was all Naruto and Sasuke's relationship only. Ok not only, but the only focus outside group focus. It's no wonder people didn't know she likes Sasuke still until Kage Summit Arc. Now, it's almost champagne time.

For those NH fans who believe that Neji will save Naruto by meeting him in the afterlife, it should'nt be ridiculous?
That is, we know that, thanks to Sakumo Hatake, there are only souls who have some regrets in the limbo. That's why Kakashi was able to meet his father in that particular place, both had remorse. Only when Sakumo received the forgiveness from his son, he said him "Thanks to you... I can finally reach your mother...". Sakumo wasn't able to forgive himself for having left his little son alone, by giving up with the suicide. That's why he had Remorse. Kakashi too, for the team 7, for Obito and Rin.
I think to have realized in that limbo can be only those ninja who had regrets in the earthly life. So I don't think Neji had regrets at the point of death. He said everything that he wanted to say to Hinata and Naruto. If Naruto will really go in that place, the limbo where all regreting souls are gathering, he won't meet Neji but an another remorseful soul. And you know who is the one who had a lot of regrets at the point of death? That one who has failed to save his dearest friend, the who who has failed to save his master and his favorite student, the one who has never had a chance with Tsunade. Yeah, I'm talking about Jiraiya.

If Naruto will really meet someone in the afterlife (temporarily of course), I bet on him!

I hope that they meet cause both have regrets atm. I am sure that if Naruto regrets something, it would be not confessing to Sakura and not being able so save Sasuke.

Imagine if they meet in the afterlife and they talk about all these stuff. OMG THIS IS... T_T

I wonder if Naruto will pull a Gaara moment. I mean if you remember, Gaara was talking to himself, saying that his life was all meaningless and then, he dies. Not that Naruto would say that, but he may address that he finally got to work with Sasuke, yet he is going to die and not able to fight him to decide their fate, not able to see Sakura's smile because he's going to die, echoing all of his loved ones one lines, then he dies. It reminds me of Crysis 3 near ending where the protagonist remembers his life but it's all over, so he dies. It was a moment but he came back. That said yeah, that would be emotional train ride.

And that would be the time when Sakura getting to a great extent of being emotional in the manga if that happens.

No, lol, not like that exactly, but the dialogues were all about how "it" story went down from the moment he lost the actual identity. Anyway, for Naruto, he probably reflect back his heart words about regrets, yet now this is truly the end. He may think he wants to wake up but he can't. All he can hear barely is crying from Sakura. He will walk down the path, seeing his friends disappearing, leaving Iruka and Team 7 themselves. Then Jiraiya will appear to readdress peace talk, then Kushina, then Minato, and maybe insert other ones, up to you. Team 7 and Iruka disappear and Naruto would say, "Thank you...everyone." Dies and Sakura will cry to end the chapter. God, I will so wish anime will skip all others and go here if that were to happen.

On the subject of where Gara is headed, I only see two options. Both could be related to what Kurama told Gara.

 

A. Finding Minato - this would be the most obvious option and whatever possible plotholes that might arise could be explained away by Minato himself, or if Minato can't do anything, maybe Naruto actually does die and Obito uses the remainder of his lifeforce to revive him. Then we get the Obito/Rin parallel with Sakura present and a Naruto's death scene with Sakura

 

B. Tomb of the Sage of the Six Paths - instead of just to a remote location to recuperate, which would negate the conversation between Gara and Kurama, maybe there is some connection that could be made to the 6 paths and revive Naruto, maybe we finally get to meet the sage himself in one form or another - this option would be less obvious but cool

 

I like the previous posts saying that Naruto might meet Jiraya. That too would be very cool.

 

My only problem with the current situation in the manga is that Bee's state has not been addressed. He is not an Uzamaki, so is he already gone?!

 

And finally, seeing as how I am a long time NaruSaku supporter, the coolest part of all is that when the next chapter is released, I will be in Japan for the first time.
