Shueisha is a publishing company in Japan? So you would think they would do their homework and understand the product they are marketing. Obviously not, I am guessing it wont sell well as Japanese fans aren't biased towards Sakura and will notice the total mistake of the calendar.

I didn't see any Hinata picture in the Naruto one. And where do you see the 2 other Sakura picture in the Sasuke one, I just saw the one where she was about to kiss the fake Sasuke who was Naruto.

 

But I agree that in pairing aspect and bond aspect in general, it's really saddening. I'm glad, my country doesn't receive this sort of calendar, I remember the one with this, luckily, it was not sold in France:

Thank you, it's true that it's unprofesionnal, to have not put Sakura anywhere in the Naruto picture, because it seems like they put every important bond to him: Jiraya, Tsunade, Sasuke, Kushina.... If they wanted to show Hinata, they should have put all the rookies, she's a side character who has the exact same stature as the others such as Shikamaru.

 

But really, it's so biased to have not included Sakura.

At least, I prefer that they included her in the Sasuke picture than not have put her in the Naruto one. Because I understand the fact that she has a bond with Sasuke so of course she has her place in his section. But she has more importance to Naruto, so she deserves more a place in the Naruto one. She's one of his strongest bond, she's sharing his journey since the beginnig as the main female character. She's even in the Kakashi picture, so they know which bonds Sakura is sharing and with who she's sharing it, it proves that it's a deliberate omission. 

 

But let's wait, who knows what will be in the March picture. She's always on the march picture.

To be fair, if you judge the timeline of events from the most recent years and attempt to estimate how much importance certain characters have had, would this decision to not create a calendar focused exclusively around Sakura be all that deplorable? As a heroine, she was noticeably absent for much of the war up until the arrival of the Hokages and even then the spotlight was only on her for a handful of chapters. Otherwise she was relegated to the background with the Alliance, healing anyone that she could as her teammates and sensei progress the story line. 

 

For a character who is supposed to be perceived as the heroine, Sakura hasn't really done much to distinguish herself from the Rookies throughout this entire war. She was grouped together with them in #515's colour cover and then later she was amongst the nameless reinforcements who were dispatched to assist Naruto against Tobi. The overarching motivations for the villains who orchestrated this war, she isn't connected to them in any way. Sakura's story has always revolved around her teammates, regardless if it's looked at as a good or bad decision for Kishi to make for her character. 

 

You could argue that a calendar should have been created for her simply for the purpose of advertising the franchise. But if you consider the popularity of the characters, who would be the more profitable decision? Gaara having a calendar of his own makes sense. Not only because of his consistent rankings in popularity polls but also for his contributions to the story and the longevity of his appearances that have been ongoing since the middle of the original series. It could be said that he might even be more integral to the plot than Sakura is in some ways.

 

 Why isn't there a calendar for Orochimaru? He's been one of the most enduring and iconic of characters since the series began. The actions he committed have had long lasting impact on both protagonists and many others. Moreover, he remains to this day as one of the most sinister, but beloved villains in the story for much of the fanbase. If anyone deserves their own calendar, it's Orochimaru.

You know, I really think Sakura will be in March, because if you llok at it, these are the same characters represented in every calendar so far: Gaara is always, Kakashi too (I think), and Sasuke and Naruto also.

Ans as long as she has her own month, supposed pairing biased is not a real problem.

I find it very disrespectful that the Naruto part has no Sakura in there, though he recently kittening called her his girlfriend and they have Hinata. Like WTF?! And not a poster with their heroine? What's wrong with these people? Gah!

Well, since it seems to be focused on the war arc, it would make sense that Nagato would not be featured. But in that case, Shikamaru certainly should and Minato too. What's with that?

Guys, it's a calendar, why fuss about character placement or what they actually show, I mean this is the stuff some nh fans went ballistic over the road to ninja poster with hinata being slighty to the side behind naruto. People have thought Panel placement in the series had meaning too. Remember how dumb that sounds? Besides this is just merchandise. I mean didn't we just praise how a chess set came out with naruto as king and sakura as queen even though it makes no difference.

Besides there are more important things to focus on that matter, like the manga obviously.

Again we are just giving our thoughts on the product, it really has nothing to so with NS, if your going to market a product; do your homework and make sure you include all main characters. If you make a Justice league poster with all the main members yet leave out The flash of Wonder Woman that is just a dumb product.

At first when I saw Hinata above Narutos shoulder I was all like :

Then I just read NaruSaku fanfics and forgot all about the calander with Hinata on it  so I don't really care about it anymore sure im a bit pissed they didn't put Sakura but hey they didn't put  Sasuke in that month either and hes one of the main characters so im fine with it now

In the end, yes, it is just a calendar, but that does not mean I'm not a little bit peeved with the arrangement they chose. Hinata's placement feels random, just the one picture of her over Naruto's shoulder and nothing else that I can see. Not only that, but there is a few of Kushina but I can't find any of Minato. It's not just about Sakura, though I feel she deserves a place there too, if not because she is his love interest, than because she is his teammate and friend.

 

@narusakuforlife1667: Are you taking about Sasuke not being in the background behind Naruto? Because there are several of him there.

SS is surely going to have a field trip with this one. If I didn't read Naruto, I would have thought that Sakura was Sasuke's girlfriend looking at the calender. It has the typical anti-hero's 'the girl I left back home' atmosphere.

What I'm surprised is their lack of Hinata.I would have thought with their Hinata bias, they would romantically emphasize her. Instead she is barely noticeable and looks only like a comrade. Weird.

So what? There are alot of caps from the manga, I dont think they purposley put her there, there are many characters from the manga there in tiny pictures in the background, that doesnt matter.

Plus theres another series of official 2014 calenders, one with tsunade and sakura, one with gai and lee, another one for sasuke and kakashi, another one for naruto and jiraya. Theres shikamaru and asuma the 4th hokage, itachi and I think im forgetting more..but theres no hinata

Im pretty sure they might make one for sakura alone like gaara and kakashi, but if not thats ok because our heroine already has a calender.

Plus if you see in the first calender with all the charavters from the manga up in the first post on page 1 you'll see that our heroine has the spotlight of the calender, whereas hinata is in the background.

Eh this is kinda like the same ordeal how many NH fans freaked out in UNS2 and 3 just for the fact that Naruto and Hinatas team up was secret lovers, even the couples wiki tries to use this in the unoffical evidence section and places none of the NS stuff from either game in the NS unoffical evidence section. Many thought this was canon, even though they never gave thought to the fact that perhaps this is just a similar characteristic in that both naruto and hinata have a secret crush, not naruto just instantly loving hinata. But hey this is the same situation with how 615s youve always been by my side line was taken far far out of context in that people thought naruto somehow now knew that hinata was always around or something (even though she hasnt always been by his side or in every situation like what sakura had seen him becoming the 4 tails or shikamaru knowing the pain of losing a mentor like him). I mean the line was referring to the situation of the battle and how people like neji and hinata were supporting naruto right there, proving obitos statement of all people abandoning him wrong, thats it, its focused on the situation, not the entirety of the manga, somethings people speak make no sense and they never consider if they make sense, I mean seriously one thing I ask other pairing fans when they argue stuff is "Did you even once think of just how this makes sense or in some cases, do you know how stupid this sounds? You never even considered the ripple effect of your statement for how this impacts others in the manga based on that statement." I dont use it often but thats the deal, and some people have used the UNS2 and 3 stuff as an example for NH going canon even though they never think of the fact, how does the game take precidence in importance over the manga? How is the game based off the canon material even going to be impacted on a game which has considerble fanservice in it to boot, I mean this is why there are 2 unique endmissions with Sakura and Hinata, its pure fanservice, even adding more insult to injury, the majority of ultimate decisions  based on the canon follow the hero branch which holds Sakura's missions, so either way its really a lost arguement, either way its no edvicene and still has more pointing at NS despite not counting for either.
