Ultear and Gray i was so sad.
I'm lukewarm about Gray-Juvia. Juvia is so much more interesting because Gray isn't interested in her. I like it that way.
As Ani said, Gray was smiling for Ultear.

Ah, Gray was blunt and harsh. I didn't like him these chapters. I wonder if Hiro is moving away from Gruvia?

Chapter 338
It was a enjoyable chapter. I like it and it's nice to see everyone in their normal self. I like some of the developments and such, and it was funny to see Natsu the King. That's all I can say. It was a good chapter. I admit, I still want a dark part of the arc. That's the next chapter to fill me in.
Chapter 339
Yeah, it was definitely sad to see Ultear pretty much saying farewell to everyone who she has been part of and it was nice that she was able to find something that she can finally be happy about. I find it nice that because the fact she's old now, it's as if to say, "It takes a long time to feel happy, but it was worth it" so kudos to Hiro to make that symbolic. Also, a good foreshadowing development with Cobra and "the door to Hades", so that's something to look forward to. My favorite chapter out of the three.
Chapter 340
Well, what isn't Fairy Tail without that happy feelings, though I did like Grey feeling upset, because of the last chapter and how broken he saw Ultear in a different state. Still, if she's happy, so should he, so a small nice rebound. I admit, I wish it went further to make Juvia and Grey get a serious moment because it was building to that with Juvia serious concern, but oh well. The best part was the last part, which seems like signifying that Fairy Tail is near end. Well, there's not much to cover anyway, so might as well. A good chapter.
As for Grey and Juvia, well it can go to the route of "You be the judge" epilogue, but maybe just maybe they can get together. No guarantees. It is SK of the series in my opinion.

I'm actually glad he's finally returning to talking about Tartaros. We know it's the final guild in the Balam Alliance (I'm too lazy to find it, but it was first mentioned as far back as the Oracion Seis Arc), and we also know there are four insanely powerful non-human Wizard Saints out there somewhere, so I can see easily see them being a part of that guild. It would be a nice way for Hiro to wrap things up, if we're really nearing the final arc (RM also used ridiculously OP demon villains for the final arc).
I hope it's not really the final arc though, I'm way too into this manga. *_*

I wonder which guild did Yukino ended up choosing in the end. Since she has the remaining zodiac keys we might see her again at some point.
I don't know why but I get the feelings that either Zeref and Mavis we're childhood friends that went on different paths or even previous lovers. They spoke with each other with a great deal of familiarity.
Oh, and the Gray and Juvia thing, it seems this is just Hiro's way of going back to the status quo with them. If anything were to happen it would be near the end probably.

thing is if he doesnt want Gruvia to happen now who will he put gray with?

Well.... *starts ticking off on hands* Lisanna is still a free agent. There's Cana, although it appears Cana/Bacchus is pretty much canon for real. There's Erza, but she still loves Jellal. Ultear is old/dead/dying. Since Cobra is back in jail, there's Kinana. Laki is now 7 years older than he is so she's out. Wendy is too young.
Lisanna is about it.
I too think his rejection of Juvia was just getting back to the status quo. After all the development of this arc, it was make or break time for Gray, and he's opted to try to break it (either because he's too chicken to commit, still wants to take a chance that Natsu will give up on Lucy, or something.) Unfortunately for him, Juvia lives in Juvia-Land, and in Juvia-Land Gray is madly in love with her, too.
To put it in TV trope terms, the show is over when the coyote catches the road runner.

Gray likes Lucy???? since when? and why hasn't he tried anything on lucy if this is true?
NaLu is semi-canon but needs Natsu to do something.

I don't really want to make this a pairing debate, but Gray doesn't really have to end with anybody. What is appealing and funny about Juvia is that madly in love with Gray and doesn't realize that he doesn't feel the same. If Gray were to return mutually those feelings, I feel her character will lose some appeal to me. Gray has already shown that he doesn't love Juvia romantically, which is why I love that dynamic in the first place. Like Super Boom said, Juvia is really interesting when it doesn't involve Gray, and when it does, it's supposed to be hilarity. I don't see any development with her if she were to end up with Gray. *Also I think it would be strange for him to start seeing her as more than nakama
I love the whole Gray-Juvia-Lyon thing as well
Hiro knows that there are a bunch of Gray-Lucy fans and he teases them a lot, especially through "Juvia vision". Juvia believes Lucy is after Gray as well.

I hate Gray x Lucy it doesnt work. Gray treats juvia really harshly especially after erza said he should acknolegde her feelings for him

I know I bring up Rave Master a lot here, but I really wouldn't mind it if Gray went the same direction that Hiro went with Musica (more or less his RM self). He technically never ended up with any specific love interest, but he shared a kiss and a very touching scene with a former villain around halfway through the series before she sacrificed herself. He had multiple other potential love interests, but none came even close to that scene with Reina. Even when the manga ended, I felt like Musica/Reina was the canon ship. She became his weapon, he brought her name up multiple times while he used it, and he even met her again in a near-death scene.
I guess, looking on it now, Gray/tear has a lot in common with Musica/Reina. I only wish Hiro introduced more romance with them before Ultear's sacrifice.

But gruvia seem to be making some progress with their combo attack in 322.
Why have gray be so harsh to juvia after obvious progress??
Posted 07 July 2013 - 11:33 PM
I think it depends on how you interpreted the Gray and Juvia relationship from the start. I never thought Gray was really interested in her romantically at all.
The reason he was "harsh" to her is because this is what she is always doing to him. It might be different for some people, but Gray doesn't like this sort of treatment. It's kinda strange he hadn't done this sooner, but Gray never put his foot down before because he is a nice guy. In chapter 338 he showed that he didn't like the way she had been acting around him, also showing he isn't interested in her.

Chapter 341 and 342 are out: http://www.mangaread.../fairy-tail/341
It's all very fillerish. And I wonder. Did Mavis aways looked like and child, or did she grew up at some point?

Yay anime!!!! good chapters but DAMN that fanservice in 341
Posted 12 July 2013 - 05:28 PM
It was canon that Gray at one point was "slightly interested" in Lucy. We found this out when Gemini and Angel made a clone of Gray during the Oracion Seis arc. That was the extent of Gray admitting feelings for anyone in the manga, and it went exactly nowhere. (Aside from panicked visions of GraLu courtesy of Juvia-Vision.)
At this point I'd like to see Juvia take a step back from her obsession with Gray. Not so much give up on him, but give him a little breathing space. Maybe when she isn't fawning over him, he can see her from a more objective viewpoint. Doubtful that's going to happen any time soon, though.
I expected the anime to return. And with today's barrage of chapters, there is a nice wide gap

Anyone else notice how Hiro is placing gray and Lucy together a lot more and having them interact more then often?
I think Gray is going to reveal he likes Lucy? to start a love triangle between Natsu Lucy and Gray?

Maybe thinking too much, but never know. That said well if Hiro wants to make it "interesting", I guess he can go with that. Not truly sure.Anyone else notice how Hiro is placing gray and Lucy together a lot more and having them interact more then often?
