I am sure Karin liking what sasuke did to her was just for comic relief, and you guys are taking it too literally.

Ok, one more post. It seems like Naruto will get the reality check very soon and he will be the one to expose it. Naruto might be the only one enjoying, maybe, but sadly, his girlfriend (yeah I said it) isn't happy. Team 7 is about to end once more.

Well, Katsuyu means split... So it goes actually within character, so to speak.

Whereas Snakes and Frogs are more, Katsuyu is just one but with her ability to split makes it equal, more or less to the numbers of the frogs/snakes.

 

A disassembled collection of slugs who happen to possess the same consciousness isn't exactly the same as the population of frogs and snakes being actual different creatures and not just fractions of an original whole. Surely there would be other slugs who exist in the world who would choose to reside in that forest. By that admission it could be speculated that Katsuyu is not just the boss summoning of Shikkotsu Forest but its sage leader of as well.

Really like this chapter! and sakura's smile was so heart breaking. ;A; and things are difinetly getting more serious. SS doesn't really stand a chance anymore, there's absolutely nothing from sasuke and sakura's barely holding on to her feelings.

 

The last page was really shocking I hope kakashi doesn't die he's my favorite. It just doesn't make sense for naruto to lose another sensei.

That time when sasuke "apologized" to her and she started clinging to him like a fan girl everyone was going on that it was "comic relief" but this?! implying that she enjoyed being stabbed by sasuke ?

Well, seems like NF gaining respect for Sakura for starting to leave Sasuke? Huh, interesting development.

 

Anyway, it does seem to be like once Sasuke does something bad, that's it, Sakura is done. Pretty much, she's at the very last peak and well, the reality is finally kicking her. Sad, but truth hurts. Ok, sleep time.

IMO and what seems to be the opinion of some of the other posters, it just wasn't funny. Period. It makes me really uncomfortable. This goes beyond any S&M kink. Sasuke came at her with the intentions of killing her and Kishi wants to say she enjoyed it? What about the stuff that came after he tried to kill her? The stuff about her not taking Sasuke's crap anymore? What the hell did he write that for?

It's offensive, frankly. I had a guy try to kill me and turning that into comic relief is borderline sociopathic in my opinion.

For people saying that the masochism comment downgrades Karin's character, I think you may be judging masochism as a kink too much. She is not unaffected by Sasuke trying to kill her. She knows that she can't trust him, but she's a masochist, so it turned her on. Just because a character has kinks or likes other characters (coughSakurareallydoes/didlikeSasuke) doesn't mean they are suddenly useless or terrible characters. Sometimes you can't help you feelings.

 

You can still dislike her though, I just wanted to through in my two cents about kinks. XD

Either this is all part of an elabortate ruse that she has concocted to get close to Sasuke in order to harm him in some way or she has a self-harming dissociative identity disorder which causes her to experience these frequent bouts of resentment and longing for Sasuke.

He had the intention of killing Danzo and just didn't care if Karin was in the way. Telling Sakura to kill her was just a ruse since he really did have the intention of killing Sakura when she turned her back

And yeah, seems like it. That sorta ties in with 540. Some people thought that scene was "the beginning of the end," so to speak (well, in addition to Sasuke attempting to kill Sakura twice in a row). She was finally, FINALLY beginning to realise that Sasuke simply isn't the same person, and never will be, so she has to let go of the notion that Team 7 will ever be truly reformed, and let go of any romantic feelings that may remain. So yeah, it seems that Sakura is really just waiting for Sasuke to do something bad—she knows he will—and that's when she'll take action. Idk.

Lol, yeah, I think Kishi's done trying with Karin's character, and most characters who aren't significant in one way or another. I think Kishi's just trying to get this thing over with as soon as possible, really.

Whoaaa, so much hate *or disappointment* from people here for Karin. Hmm, well, everybody has opinion, and as for me, I actually ... like Karin

 

She's masochist, LOL. But it makes her character different from any other girl in this manga. She's weird, and her feelings for Sasuke is weird too. But I just cant stop smiling for her character. Well, refer to SasuKarin, for me Sasuke is a crazy character too. The one who perfectly fit for Sasuke is Karin. She didnt mind with Sasuke tried to killing her in the past.

 

God, it's like seeing a psycho man with a maso girl, perfect for gore and dark story   Call me weird, but I always like Karin no matter how crazy her. She's just ... different and unique. Just my opinion

Also, for any doubting Thomases about the way Sai asked Sakura of her feelings about the Sasuke situation:

Sai didn’t ask Sakura about her “feelings” (as in, romantic/emotions etc) towards Sasuke, but rather what she THOUGHT of the situation re: Sasuke. Here’s the raw spoiler:
「サイはサスケの真意を知りたくサクラにどう思っているのか聞く」

“Sai, wanting to know Sasuke’s true motives, asks what Sakura thinks [of the situation/his motives].”


NOTE: [どう思っている」HE SAID 「思う」NOT 「想う」(same reading, but different meaning). 「思う」(omou) = to think, feel (more to do with ideas, rational stuff etc). whereas 「想う」(omou) = to feel (to do with emotions/romantic etc.)

What do you think guys about this translation?

she was denying it because she was being tsundere like she always is when it comes to sasuke.

but okay so what if it's comic relief? is that all to karin's character? comic relief?

I think Sai's interpretation of Sakura's response was a little odd. I don't know though. I did not look at the raws, so it could be a translation thing. I've reread several times and I think that he meant that her words were what she sincerely WANTS to feel, but she doesn't feel this way and that's what's making her sad. To extrapolate a little, I think that she feels that she cannot forgive Sasuke like Naruto apparently can. She may also feel as if she has put a burden on Naruto with the promise of a lifetime for no reason. Anyway, I love that Kishi is no longer sidelining her feelings.

Sakura truly wants to believe that everything will be OK, and she wants to believe her own words, but she can't shake that uneasy feeling that is growing within herself. Things are not adding up, and she knows it.

As much as Sakura would like to go back to the old days when Team 7 was whole, deep down she knows that everyone has changed - herself most of all. Orochimaru said it out loud; people change.

 

We may well see Sakura and Naruto fighting against Sasuke in the near future.  Both Naruto and Sasuke want to save the villages, but Naruto wants to heal wounds, while Sasuke wants to destroy everything and rebuild it all.

 

 

Sakura's smile was the peak for me.
And it seems like Tsunade didn't expected Sakura to be able to summon Katsuyu...

 
Personally, I can't wait for Tsunade to witness Sakura's growth on the battlefield. 

 

 

While it was unsettling for Oro to be comedy material, we do at least get to see that he hasn't completely changed.  Before, he always wanted to be the wind that would drive conflict and change the world.  Now, he wants to sit back and let Sasuke be that wind.  He believes that Sasuke will change the world, and he wants to watch what happens.

 

Of course, we know that Naruto Uzumaki will be the one who really changes the world for the better.
