[Smiter]

Welcome to the new H&E!

 

This is still very much a work in progress, but I reopened it so you guys could post again.  Very soon, I hope to be able to share more info with you, and you can all help shape H&E's future. ^_^

 

Be sure to check out our Facebook and Twitter and follow those, we will be updating them with regular news and content!

 

 

List of New Features and Changes! (In Progress...)

Check out the new list

Status Updates: On your name on the top right, there will be a pop-up for updating statuses, similar to Facebook.  Hovering over someone's name will show you their profile and status.

 

Likes: Posts can now be liked.

 

Tags: Topics can now be tagged, and you can search the tags for similar topics.

 

Following Options: You can now follow certain threads/posts.

 

New Themes: Click on the paintbrush icon to the right of your username at the top of the page to check them out!  We will be holding a banner contest soon.

New H&E social pages (accessible by clicking on the icons on the right underneath the banner):

Facebook

Twitter

 

Sharing Options: Posts, topics, and pictures can now be shared on the social media of your choice!

 

PMs are now Conversations: PMs are now displayed like threads in your messenger, making it easier to keep track of discussions.

 

Easier Youtube Linking: Simply paste the Youtube URL in your post, and H&E will automatically convert it into a video!

 

Anti-Ninja Replying: H&E will tell you if any new replies have been posted to a topic WHILE you're writing your own reply.  We cannot guarantee that you won't still get ninja'd.

 

Gallery Pictures on Index: Now it's easy to see when the Gallery has been updated with new images.

 

Important:  The Library can no longer be accessed, because the software is outdated.  All the stories are still in the database, so I will see if it is possible to salvage them by transferring to a new read-only version!

Oh yes, I forgot to mention.  Click the paintbrush icon to the left of your name at the top of the page.  That lets you choose your own background. ;)

 

Tricksie will be running a banner contest soon, so look out for that!  You never know, you might see your own NaruSaku fanart up there on H&E's banner...

Fantastic job with the new layout, Smiter! It's a huge jump from the old H&E, but I absolutely love it! There are a few kinks that still need to be worked out, (for some reason, I can't open spoiler tags. Instead, it opens a new, empty, tab...), but I'm sure you'll get to those soon. I can't wait to see the final product we come up with as a community. Great job! :ohboy:

We had a hairy moment when the SQL server fell over mid-upgrade, I had to contact support.  Thankfully, they were able to get it back on its feet so I could complete the upgrade. ^_^

Thanks. :)  Yes, this is a priority job and hopefully I will be able to fix them soon - this will involve a lot of deep diving into H&E's database.  For now, we have a new spoiler tag we can use, and I can try to add a title option to it if people want it.

I love love love the new look! So much cleaner and sharper at first I though I had gone to the wrong place, but I soon found out that H&E just got a face life Excellent job Smiter!!
