So I've been thinking about the Great Toad Sage's prophecy where he foresees one of Jiraiya's students bringing great peace or destruction to the shinobi world. Naruto is one of the children of prophecy and is currently fighting in the war to bring about that great peace, but do you think that there will be a point where Naruto could bring great destruction? Nagato may have been one of the children of prophecy, but I don't think an amount of destruction enough to destroy the entire shinobi world was brought about by him alone (that would be more Tobi's doing). I think Naruto may still have a chance to bring about great destruction as part of the climax (how, I have no clue). What are your opinions/predictions?

If nothing else I think the manga would be a hell of a lot more interesting if Naruto ended up bringing great destruction, especially if Kishi pulled it off well.

Honestly how much would that blow everyone's minds? If he does it.... Naruto may go down as one of the greatest mangas of all time.

That said the story is fine with Naruto being the stereotypical shounen battle manga hero, nothing wrong with that, it's still interesting.

Yeah! I've always held the thought of Naruto being pushed over the edge near the end of the manga. The few reasons as to how Naruto would become evil and a destroyer are:

1) Naruto watches Sasuke die by someone else when Naruto was close to saving him...

2) Sakura is killed...simple enough

3) Too many of his friends get killed making him think "is it worth it?"

I would love to see in the end the K11 + people close to Naruto fighting Naruto to snap him out of it.

The only way he could destroy the word is if gives up or fails or just doesn't act in order to save the world.

Right now he could fail to defeat Obito and Madara or if he defeats them there's the possibility of not acting on Sasuke.

Yeah he might even join Sasuke, seen as no-one else other then Sakura truly wants to help/save him anymore. Which bring me on to Sakura. If Naruto betrays everyone and teams up with Sasuke, surely Sakura would do as well. I'm convinced her loyalties lay with Naruto and team 7. thoughts?

It has already been determined by the Great Toad Sage that Naruto and Nagato (and possibly Minato though the Toad Sage said nothing about him) were the "child of the prophecy".

Also everyone here seems to be forgetting that the Great Toad Sage had another prophecy about Naruto and how he will be meeting an Octopus (Killer B), and that he would fight a young man with powerful eyes (Sasuke). But if you really want to think that it's just Naruto, then I will just say that the chances of Naruto causing great destruction has probably already passed, the only way I could see Naruto causing any sort of great destruction would be if he had gave into Kurama, but given how Kurama snapped Naruto out of his daze after Neji's death I don't think that is a problem anymore.

If Kishi made Naruto a weaker willed person, or rather someone always on the age of letting things get to him (which he was when he faced his other self at the water fall of truth was it?) maybe this final battle would have been harder for him.

It also would have been more interesting if Hinata did not slap him out of it and he continued to fight, but with less determination.

But of course, Naruto HAS to always have confidence and be on the right side says Kishi, so I doubt the destruction part of things will come easily.
