In Chapter 116, Kakashi states that he taught Sakura genjutsu during genin survival training, and that she has "an affinity for it."
So, no, not out of nowhere.

She dosen't deserve this much attention since she is a minor character at best.

So, no, not out of nowhere.
So that's where the quotation came from. I can't believe I missed that. All this time I thought Sakura only learned the tree chakra exercise from Kakashi.
"My name is Sung Ji-woo. Some called me the Assassin of Death. A Necromancer Deity... My journey has been nothing but walking over a mountain of corpses. My legion of the dead reigns supreme. None shall block my way or... face the wrath of my blades!" --Solo Leveling.

It's easy to lose track of details in a story like this.
I remember Kakashi's comment clearly because it seemed like an announcement -- as if Kishimoto really wanted to write a note in the margin that said, "PAY ATTENTION TO THIS BECAUSE IT MATTERS!!!" I've been expecting Sakura's ability with genjutsu to have some kind of importance in the story, but when I heard the plot of the new movie I thought maybe that was going to be it.
Still, I wouldn't be surprised if Sakura's genjutsu skill won't end up being an important element in the final part of the manga as well. We'll see.

Whatever you say. I'll be sure to remember that if any of the other side characters end up dying before this war draws to a close. I suppose that goes for Asuma, too.
Karly, I don't know if you can hear this. I am not a believer, I haven't been since Sheryl died. But if you can, I want you to know that I'm truly sorry for everything bad I've ever said about you. When you were suffering, I should have been there to help you. I should have visited. I should have encouraged you to leave the house and get a job, to be active and alive the way you used to be.
I promise that I will do everything that I can to be successful and a good person, to make you proud the way you would have wanted me to. No matter what I said, I loved you. And I will always love you. Rest in Peace, you will never be forgotten.

I even admit, I never saw this in the Anime. Such an embarrassment *facepalm* What's even worse that I stated in my RC fanfic that I wanted to have Kakashi teach Sakura some genjutsu, because Kakashi was a fool not to teach her any. And I was wrong.
I am grateful that there is atleast some part of Sakura's genjutsu abilities are partly canon in my story. I do feel angery at NS faiful for not correcting me last year.

Where would you get that idea? Naruto has been trapped in genjutsus since the beginning of the series. You can check the Chuunin exams arc or the Search for Gaara arc. Not only Naruto got trapped inside Itachi's genjutsu in the later but also Jiraiya told Naruto needed training to resist them.
Has it been told in one of the later chapters they are inmune? Yes so, then it is a plothole. However, depending on who told him and how he or she worded it, that person could be refering to specifical conditions or individuals.
Do you want to take over the world, huh? Well, you'll have to go through us first!

This doesn't surprise me at all from you, you're not fun of Sakura so is obviously you will think that way about her.
1)This is a movie.
2) She use her Genjutsu skill in part one.
3) In part two they remind us again that She was a genjutsu tipe.
4) They are in a genjutsu word Kishi made her original and she is the only Genjutsu tipe between her and Naruto.
No one in their right mind will think that she will do all the work by herself, on lest you like the idea of her having fun with Sasuke and Naruto with Hinata until someone ruin the party by sa ving them right?
Uchiha are decedents of the sage of six paths, the creator of all ninjutsu. if that isn't justification of more power ups I don't know what is.
As you stated, Sakura being a genjutsu type has been mentioned twice in the entire series. and if Sakura can defeat Tobi's genjutsu when she herself has had no training at all in genjutsu, then yes, I am kind of disappointed with this plot.
and I said I didn't like Sakura in part 1 and in part 2 I think she needs more development. considering this is probably the final arc of the series though it's making me more disappointed with Sakura's character. in fact a lot of the character's I'm disappointed with. Sasuke is one of the few characters I think was done right.
If you genuinely like Sakura's character then fine, but don't ignore her obvious flaws.
@dovahkin
that only applies when the tailed beast and jinchiriki are friends. basically it only works with Killer Bee and more recently Naruto. I assume at the time of this film Naruto isn't friends with Kurama

Anithing that makes you happy is fine whith me I'm fun of Sakura, you aren't so the discution his pointless.
You have your view I have mine if you are happy with your that's ok, I will not debate about Sakura and worse with you. Thank you.

Ok the house Naruto, Bee, Gaara, etc are not immune to Genjutsu, whenever they are trapped the beast inside them manifest and free them, but for that to happen you need to be friend with the beast, if you need a reference check out the Sasuke vs Bee fight, in that fight Bee got cut by Sasuke's Genjutso but the 8 tail help Bee and took Sasuke by surprise when he almost kill him.

Years in the manga? Or irl?
I think they'll get together a bit after the war, and have lots of mini Uzumaki's.
17 sounds like a high possibility for a serious relationship.

Well Kishi predicted that he'd be done with the series in a year and a half, so maybe in a year, maybe a year and a month or two? It'll happen after the Sasuke fight, so near the end.

I would be inclined to believe him if it weren't for the fact that he takes forever to accomplish things he says he'll do. Honestly I think a 1 1/2 years is like the bare minimum.

Well it does take time to write a serise. I'm trying to become a novilist, and it has taken me over a year just to write this first book. Writing isn't as easy as a lot of fanfiction writers believe it to be. They already have the character names and what not, and it doesn't take a lot of time to put a story plot in your mind. Your own serise or novil or whatever you're writing/drawing can take years to finish, granted manga drawers will take longer because they have to draw a million pictures in one chapter, and no matter how many times you draw a character, you can still mess up several times, thus, having to completely re-start the picture.
If you think it's easy managing an actual serise you can call your own...think again. It takes time to get the first book done, and you have to think every little detail down. Designing your character, story plot, the bag guys, the good guys, coming up with names...it takes more time than you'd really think. I spent...two months just looking up names and figuring out what I was going to CALL my book serise. Plus, the story will have a way of almost becoming a living thing. A lot of people say the writer's in controll, well...he's not. If the writer's not paying attention, the story will take him some random place and he ends up getting writers block for five months, or, deleting half his story.
I used to think Naruto was taking too long, but now I can see why the serise is taking so long to end. Granted Kishi isn't the best writer on the planet, but I understand when he says the serise is going to end later than he thought.
The reason I say Kishi isnt the best writer
1: The females are basically useless. As much as I LOVE Sakura, and I love her to death...you have to admit she hasn't really done a whole lot. I mean sure she's a good character, she has depth to her, she's a character you'd want to have around, but when was the last time she really had a good fight scene? Sasorie as far as I recall. Kishi made almost all of his females useless, and he only gave Hinata a good back ground. I hate it when the girls are left out and only used for romance or drama! It's just annoying.
2: He's very slow and kinda drags the story out. I'm not saying this is a bad thing all the time, but a lot of the time I feel Kishi is focusing on Naruto too much, and draging his scenes on and on to no end. He needs to speed up the story a little here and there, but he's not the only one who does this. I'm guilty of being slow myself, but I almost lost interest in this serise in the past.
That's really all I can think of at the moment, but my biggest problem with the serise is the pairing war. It's pointless, and thats as simple as I can put it. There is no other female Naruto has interest in other than Sakura, and Hinata would be a terrible choice for him. She couldn't controll him like Sakura does, and she hasno faith in him at all. Plus I can't immagine her fanbase having the last laugh. She has the most redicules fanbase in the history of stories, and it's driving me insane! Naruhina didn't even exist and chances are never will.
SasuSaku...small chance of it even happening. Why would Sakura go back to Sasuke if he makes her feel sick to her stomach and want to puke? It wouldn't make any sense! And what would've been the point of Sakura's development towards Naruto if she was just gonna go back to Sasuke? It just wouldn't make any sense to me. Why would Kishi spend...over a decade of developing Sakura to liking Naruto? Gradually might I add. Ask yourself this, would it make any sense for any pairing to happen other than NaruSaku? I think not.
Seriously, all it takes is a pair of eyes and a brain to see NaruSaku is pretty much what's happening. But I guess a lot of NH/SS fans were born without those two things. No bashing intended, I just don't understand their logic at all.
