So like, what I've been noticing lately is that I am writing even when I'm asleep.

I kid you not. I am still writing when I'm unconscious.

I woke up this morning as my dream was fading and I caught a few words as I came to.

"...What was she supposed to do? She had come all this way and she couldn't go back in time again to..."

Like, I was writing an entire story.

And it's like, am I actually asleep? Am I plotting this kitten while I'm asleep? WTF. And these imaginary stories just keep going on and on as if I'm writing them down on paper, and I'm seeing things happen as I'm "writing" them. And this is happening to me a lot lately.

Creativity, do you ever take a break? No, you don't do you?

Has anyone ever done this before? I'm not sure if I am fascinated or weirded out, man.

Yours is the epitome of unadulterated love. You are willing to carry out an act of justice in the name of said love, and hell you are still walking around trying to get to your beloved after your head has been chopped clean off your shoulders? You sir, are a kittening winner in my book.
Congratulations.

That's awesome! I wish that I was like you though sad.gif To answer your question. No it never happened to me. I only rarely walk in my sleep and talk. Weird thing but it's still awesome.

Yeah, it's pretty crazy. It's like writing the plot to my own dreams and then narrating them.

@Dragunov: I guess I just have a lot of plot bunnies on my mind, then.
@Kona: Wow. I've screamed in my sleep before, but I don't know about singing.

Yeah, I've totally done this. In fact, lots of writers keep journals beside their beds to jot down ideas or fragments of dreams.

It has a lot to do with tapping into your creativity. And when you are letting your mind wind down, or are beginning to come-to with waking dreams, a lot of the things that have been on your mind sort of untangle themselves. Er...or so I've heard! biggrin.gif

So go with it! Stick a notebook and a pencil beside your bed and catch those falling stars! Because after you get up and get on with your day, you forget so quickly what you dreamed about!

Also, check out the books "The Artist's Way" or "The Right to Write," both by Julia Cameron (they're very popular, and libraries and bookstores always have them). Both of these books are fantastic for tapping into your creativity. And if you're like me...then your brain just doesn't shut off.... Ever! lol Even in dreams!

It does happen to me. Which is why i always leave a pen and paper next to my bed. If I have a great idea, I think of it and write it down.

well... not so much as writing but most of the inspirations I got for my fanfics/stories comes from my -tend to be more realistic feeling than its supposed to- dreams then I jot it down on the word document.

Mmm yes, well I have like two boxes of notebooks under my bed (: And I usually have whatever notebook I was writing in on my desk before I go to sleep. I'll try writing things down next time!
