Yes, because it, as the article explains, is a racist thing. I have Native American ancestry so it really bugs me when this kind of thing is done. Obama's people talked about how the pressure to release his birth certificate could have racist overtones, well this is even more overtly racist, it's frankly even more offensive than "Indian" sports mascots- equating a heroic Apache resistor to the brutal racist treatment by whites to a terrorist who has responsible for the slaughter not just of nearly 3,000 people of many nationalities on 9-11-01, but the slaughter of many thousands of Muslims civilians that didn't share his extremist vision of Islam- including infants and young children. Bin Laden's organization has also systematically tried to wipe out communities of Sufi Muslims, who are to Islam what the Quakers are to Christianity- a peaceful, mystical, humanist faith.
I remember when i watched the Animaniacs, back when TV wasn't complete trash. They always said Geronimo when jumping off a plane. xDD
Also this are codewords, i don't know why they use them though. But it wasn't meant as a racist remark, i think is very easy for the dept to just apologize if it caused an insult, rather than starting a fight to which we will never hear the end of it.
