what this means for us? it could just mean that naruto could tell sakura was hiding something from him. however in the worst case, it could mean he was right about her lying to him about loving him. hopefully that isn't case and from what we have seen of her actions, it probably isn't.

That's only in sage mode. And no. He can't see through deception. He can connect to the Nara Clan's shadows.
Anyone notice he saw Sakura before anyone else? (in the order of the panels)
1. "This is worthless NONSENSE."
2. "This is an interesting, but perverse, point of view..."
3. "True, but quite unimportant."
4. "I ALWAYS SAID SO!"

She doesn't have the outward beauty of Ino or Hinata, by way of outfits or boobs, and she doesn't have some strange, inhuman, nonrealistic power that everyone else seems to have (except Lee). However Sakura's power is derived from a strong chakra, heightened by her determination to use it. It's strong, but it's been made quite clear that it is as powerful as it is because she's worked hard at it. And she doesn't use it in some unsual fashion, she simply punches things. Her skill is a manifestation of her determination. So it's nice that Kishimoto describes her as such.
Sakura's a perfect example of change through growth and hard work. She was not gifted with insane powers like Naruto and Sasuke, and she's not had a terrible heartache to overcome. She has chosen to grow. So her personality, her life, her choices and skills are very realistic. I think she's intentionally drawn in an understated way (for manga) to reflect that. Kishimoto didn't give the two boys another fairytale partner — he made her realisitic.
*Hmm, I realize some of the chakra things she does are not realistic (healing and insane punches). But it is a skill that is linked to her determination and concentration. And anyone can relate to the deep desire to heal or destroy, and channeling that energy with all your might, whether you believe in chakra or not. Like wanting to punch the daylights out of someone or something if your mad! Or use your fingertips to smooth something over.
And of course, Naruto recognizes this. Hinata may be curvy, and have that sweet need to be reassured, but Sakura is his ninja way personified.
@kim and yoshimoya, Kushina ships narusaku!

Hinata seemed weird to Naruto, because he couldn't understand her attitude (and yes, he didn't have a clue about her feelings). I'm sure he knew that she was nice and kind, etc., but these qualities of her character never awaken any romantic feelings in Naruto.
※ Now let's take a look at Sakura.
Remember that scene, when Naruto, disguised as Sasuke, almost kissed Sakura (don't forget that she was sure it's real Sasuke!)? Even though she's more confident and straightforward than Hinata, please, don't think that it was easy for her to tell 'Sasuke' that all she wants is to be acknowledged by him + to even make a first move with a kiss! Now remember Naruto's reaction on this: "now I finally understand why I like her so much".
※ Hinata's just not his type of girl, Sakura is.
Yeah I agree with this too.
I'm aware of this.
You know we should not fear about this sentence... it doesn't proove anything...

Naruto NEVER said Sakura lied about loving him.
He said she was lying to herself when she said not loving Sasuke anymore.
------
About the new chapter, I may be wrong, but i don't think Naruto seeing Sakura first proove anything...
It's just him sensing what's going on, it's nothing about feelings.
Moreover, he didn't see Sakura first, but Kakashi and Gai.
I think Kishi choose to show Sakura because we haven't seen her yet on the battlefield.
I hope she'll fight too, not just heal people... I liked a lot when she fighted.

I was thinking something akin to Chiyo's sacrifice might be possible.(emphasis on "might") It would have a strange symmetry to it.
Hasn't this been brought up before though ? Maybe that was somewhere else I'm thinking of...

That's freaking terrible. People bash characters because how pretty/ugly they think they are? Okay, I'm gonna be honest and say I don't think Hinata's pretty (at all). Not bashing, just opinion. Her eyes freak me out.
Sakura, on the other hand, I find to be absolutely gorgeous. She has epic hair and an awesome body. Oh, pretty GREEN eyes too, that actually have PUPILS. Hm, you see what I did there.

Lol, agreed. I don't find Hinata attractive either... And the eyes scare me as well. Although, the eyes apply to all Hyuuga.

Her image is bright in terms of coloring, and bright coloring creates a warm sensation when looking at her (colour science - I'm a Textile Technologist and these things are very important in the clothing science).
Her figure is perfect as it is, slim and lithe. Many bash her as "Flat chested", but seeing that she is only 17, it's good because then in her prime age, she will have a nice perk figure compared to others.
Now, if there could have been an improvement, it should have been on her haircut. She cut in with a Kunai in haste during the chunin exams, and surely during the 3 years that has passed she should have styled it better! But Kishi still draws her with the jagged edges...

Lee thinks she's good looking, too. Did someone mention Sai? I don't recall him saying anything good about her looks. Didn't he call her 'ugly' or something like that once?
they're just jealous... *rolls her eyes*
when people hate/dislike someone, but can't prove that person is bad/or something like that they always switch the topic on appearance. ignore those jerks.
P.S. Naruto once said to Sakura that he wants to kiss her forehead (that was when he was disguised as Sasuke)

Lol @ people resorting to bashing Sakura to undermine NaruSaku, and just bashing Sakura for her looks in general.
If I'm recalling correctly, Sakura is one of two female characters that have canonically been stated to be attractive in the manga; the only other one whose looks were actually commented on in a positive manner were Tsunade's.
As for people that love to say Hinata is better for Naruto because she's prettier than Sakura? Naruto canonically finds her "plain looking,". He said exactly those words to Hinata's face during their discussion at the log.
Not that who's more attractive in general has anything to do with who should end up with who in the first place. What matters is Naruto's opinion on the girls' looks and according to Naruto, Sakura is "very cute" and Hinata is "plain looking".
