oh, I like the part where Kushina told Naruto to not get a weird girlfriend. To get one just like his mother. Like I said before, to me, Sakura resembles Kushina a lot.

And I'm also caught in-between with Minato's actions...
Truly, there wasn't another way. Although Kushina would have 'died' with it, it would have reappeared somewhere else and Madara could get control easily. I imagine the destruction on Konoha would have been worse the second time, much worse than how this came out.
And then again, why did he have to kill himself? I just want to believe there had to be another way and he wouldn't have had to sacrifice himself and leave little Naruto all alone... but I guess everything can't be a happy ending.
Was he right or wrong? ...I just can't decide. I was convinced, but at the same time unconvinced at his little speech... So I just don't know...
And the NaruSaku hint was fantastic! I don't think I could be more happy about it! I've seen some NaruHina fans give up after this... though they still support the pairing.
Sig made by me though. XD

You are meant to feel uncertain. Kishimoto did that to show how "human" Minato was. He could be as swayed by his emotions as anybody. Proves that he was never meant to be a "canon sue". Kishimoto has done this before, to show how legends compare to the reality. This is happening to Naruto too, and note how we saw at the Kage summit before Sasuke showed up that he's acquired a legend or two as well that doesn't quite reflect what actually happened in Wave country. It's likely in Suna there's a legend or two about Sakura as well...

Really great points , I think it's really a lot like the Itachi situation just from a different angle. Itachi was going to save Sasuke no matter what even if it was him killing off his own clan. Minato was going to save not just his son , but the whole country even though he knew he would die , after all the third used the same technique to do so.
Yea Kishi really goes to show that a lot of times it's now how strong a person is , but how well they can use you're emotions against you. For Naruto it's hard for him to kill people , especially Sasuke and that is Sasuke's main advantage in a fight and always has been.
Sakura of course is something special , it's incredibly obvious considering Kishi has left the information about her family in the dark. This is what makes the story so great.

!) He knew of the prophesy, and believed it was talking about Naruto so like a father who had faith in his son he left him with a power that would give his son a major advantage.
2) He saw how powerful the foe would be so he needed to make sure Madara could not get hold of the Kyuubi.
3) He is still the Hokage, and as much as he would not want to do it, he has to take into consideration the lives of all his people, remember the Third said something along the lines of how he saw all the people of Konoha as part of his family, and cares for all of them, that is the will of fire that Minato had as well.
4) He couldn't seal half of the chakra inside Kushina because she was dying so would have meant the other half of Kyuubi would be free in a few years anyway and for Madara to control, (Don't know if he could have sealed the other half in her and have her sealed inside the Shinigami stomach with him but don't think it would have been possible.)
5) He could only seal half the kyuubi power insider the him, so the only other option was Naruto.
6) He had faith in his son.
At the end of the day, he was human, who seconds after experiencing the happiest moment in his life, his son almost got killed, his Wife was kidnapped and was slowly dying, his village was under attack, he might not have made the best decision but for the limited time he had and the emotional state he was in, he came up with the solution which was the best he could at the time.
Personally my respect for Minato has increased quite a bit and it puts him up there with Itachi as the greatest hero Konoha has ever seen.
Edit: Noticed that the Third had one Hyuuga with him, so the Hyuuga was present during the attack, or atleast some of them, wonder if we'll find out where the Uchiha were, and it also explains why the Village was so weary of Uchiha afterwards, the dissapearance of the only clan known to control the kyuubi all going missing and not returning until after the event, (Where exactly were they that they didn't even notice the Kyuubi attack? A rock and roll concert? ?

Anyway I actually liked how Minato explained it. Father's are supposed to protect the family and he did. He is very humble about that. Funny, it would probably be something I would said. Mothers are better at raising kids than fathers. This is true, but that doesn't mean men are bad parents. They just do things differently.

Yeah. The NaruHina fans are really pulling at anything they get to say that Kushina meant "Hinata." I believe one person said "Kushina and Hinata has common traits. They both have long air." NaruSaku fans also going at it.
Reading all the comments is funny.

We all knew it'd happen after reading this chapter though. They'll come up with anything to not only try to convince others of their pairing, but convince themselves since they know what the chapter is actually suggesting...
The hypocrisy is hilarious though, if this chapter was suggesting NaruHina they'd accept every single word as fact.

The debate will never end, that's for certain. I wonder if the NH fans will do edits if our shipping does comes true.

Beyond the awesome emotional impact of Naruto's conversation with Kushina, Kishimoto has done a heck of a lot to set up a grand finale (don't panic! at least 1-2 more years with all that has to be resolved). Here’s my thoughts on what we can take from this…
1. Naruto has attained control over the ninetails chakra, we know he must now use it to complete "that jutsu" to defeat Madara, Kishi showed a lot of Minato using FTG without going into much detail on how the technique works, as well as mentioning different levels of the technique and showing it go up against Madara - conclusion, this is the unfinished technique that Naruto must complete
2. Madara is directly responsible for the deaths of Naruto's parents and the ninetails being sealed inside him, couple that with his involvement in the Uchiha massacre and you have the source of the majority of the misery that Naruto has experienced in his life, he also possessed abilities that rivaled the 4th –conclusion, more will be revealed about Madara’s involvement in Itachi’s decision, the Uchiha massacre, and Sauske’s fall into darkness, Madara (if he actually is Madara) is the final villain
3. Naruto now has a lot of ammo to use against Sauske, and I’m not talking about the ninetails chakra, he now knows that he had parents that loved him enough to sacrifice themselves for him, this coupled with the loss of Jiraya, and Naruto’s decision not to follow the path of hatred and revenge can go a long way in showing Sauske just how weak and pathetic he truly is – conclusion, combine this with Itachi’s gift to Naruto and you have the formula for a win in redeeming Sauske
4. Finally, the big one, NaruSaku foreshadowing, no one can deny the parallels that were drawn between Minato and Kushina and Naruto and Sakura, in fact, you can even go back and find panels that show just how similar they are, drawn almost identically, throw in the remark to find someone like your mother and you have the perfect setup for NaruSaku – conclusion, Sakura is definitely confused about her feelings because the endearing remark about her forehead was made apparently by Sauske, Kishi has set the standard for solidifying a romantic relationship through such a remark with Minato and Kushina, there was an opportunity for the truth to be revealed to Sakura by Sauske, but no conversation took place, now it’s left to Naruto, my guess would be that he says similar words just before he bolts off to take on Sauske and Madara, knowing he might not survive he may decide to let Sakura know how he feels, Sakura is then left to have the revelation that Naruto has been the one she has truly loved since the very beginning, Lady Chiyo’s words come back into play, “next time, save that which is most important to you.” Sakura will become involved somehow, and Naruto will finally be convinced that her feelings are genuine (no long confession… Inner Sakura and a punch to the head will work.)
Anyway, can’t wait to see how this all plays out!

What I can picture though is Tsunade finally giving Sakura the Slug Contract scroll, and then sending her to the land of the slugs to train (the toads have Myubokuzan, so the slugs and snakes must have their own homelands as well).
