Looking at how Karin is out of action, I think Sasuke will ultimately decide to take Sakura along so he can be quickly healed - but he won't trust her at all. Naruto and Kakashi will be too late, but they'll find Karin. I just hope Sakura has the opportunity to slip Karin a few tablets to help keep her alive. Since Kishi has also conveniently made Karin a former Konoha ninja, she could ally with Naruto and Kakashi if she can heal herself up enough. Never discount Naruto's ability to change people!

Naruto... oh boy, Naruto. He was already determined to find and stop/save Sasuke but, now faced with the possibility that he may also lose Sakura, he'll tear the world apart to find them. As long as they've left even the slightest trace he can follow, he will not stop running after them.

Which brings another danger. Sakura's plan could backfire spectacularly in her face - her "defection" leading Naruto right into a trap. If Sasuke and Madara capture Naruto, Sakura will never forgive herself.

EDIT: I see a few people are panicking about the possibility of SasuSaku. DON'T WORRY! Sakura can see how much Sasuke has changed, and we all know how she has been getting closer to Naruto. SasuSaku is not going to happen at all.

I'm still say the Karin part is absolutely BS which gonna make it a huge plothole. Its highly unbelievable and that part is fanfiction. The Sakura part I can get and I'm not worrying about but the "Now Karin was originally a Leaf ninja" is the one that has me ticked. You already wrote a history about her in the 3rd databook, why suddenly change it on the last minute? And then the anime are going to have a very bumpy road ahead by the time they reach this chapter...

Did the anime create their own back story for Karin? Didn't watch any Taka episodes.

Sure did. And now that's gonna be dropped due to the inconsistency from Kishimoto. hm.png

I am 100% sure that she told the rookies one thing like telling them that she will be the one to tell Naruto the decision to kill Sasuke. But I am very sure that she told Shikamaru something else her true plan. Shikamaru is the smartest and most important member of the rookies Sakura must have told him that she was going to join up with Sasuke in order to obtain information about his strengths and weaknesses with the purpose that he doesn't say a word to anyone so that she will be able to kill him. Let's not forget her whole development throughout the entire manga right now she wants to kill Sasuke for the sake of protecting Konoha and most importantly Naruto. This is exactly why she's expecting that Naruto will hate her, her betrayal and the fact that she wants to kill Sasuke. sleep.gif

if i remember correctly...from kishi 2010 he said that shikamaru was going to become the person that naruto will count on and listen to. That shikamaru will become naruto's guide and become one of the most trusted people in his life

QUOTE
Yeah, I think it's a ploy to get close enough to stab Sasuke with a poisoned senbon or something like that. I think it will play out somewhat similarly, and Naruto and Kakashi (and Sai?) will arrive on the scene like Naruto, Shizune and Jiraiya did.

Some thoughts here- Sakura has another similarity now to Naruto before part 2. She doesn't believe many people care about her, and believes even those that do could easily come to hate her. She believes Naruto hates her already. She's going to believe the team she picked to find Sasuke will hate her. She probably believes Ino will hate her. She sees herself as someone few will mourn her death. Maybe her parents and Shizune and Tsunade (if she ever wakes up). She thinks she's rationally made herself the sacrifice because she believes:

1)She loves Naruto intensely and wants to protect him- Naruto has already sacrificed too much in her eyes, and Naruto won't ever believe Sasuke is irredeemable.
2) Sasuke is a great threat to Naruto and the ninja world as a whole, he must be eliminated as soon as possible, as a former team mate she believes it's her duty to kill him quickly and as mercifully as possible.
3)She believes in Naruto with all her heart and will sacrifice herself for his dream- she knows he's the child of prophecy, after all. So she believes if he lives and become Hokage he will end this terrible cycle of warfare for good. No future generations will have to live like this.
4)She doesn't believe she's anyone important, her family is clearly a pretty low ranking ninja family with no great history
5)She doesn't realize how valuable she is in and of herself and how many people care about her
6)She has taken in and believes the ninja code a bit too strongly for her own good

and if this does happen then everyone don't worry! it'll just be pretty short arc then like tsunades...and ofcourse naruto will end up saving sakura probably. but...naruto will also probably get some sort of a maturity/mental upgrade or even a jutsu upgrade with his sage mode (who knows).

EDIT: and btw...hasn't anyone noticed this yet?????? but from the spoilers....IT DOESN'T SHOW ANYTHING ABOUT SAKURA AND SASUKE ACTUALLY MEETING!!!!!! JUST SAKURA SCREAMING, WHICH COULD EASILY BE HER SCREAMING AT SAI OR SOMETHING!!!!!!!!!! so i dunno why everyone's freaking out so much from the spoilers.

Stupid direction facepalm.png Does kishi actually think this is a good plot idea? Apparently so...

So we traded Sakura's already stupid idea that she could take on Sasuke + Madara with another stupid idea of her becoming a double agent and somehow hit Sasuke from within. Dumb.

I'm honestly looking forward to seeing the chapter and the next few. It'll be a bit suspenseful, but I think that it could pan out really well. It's not the way that I would've taken the story, but that's why I'm reading and not writing.

I won't speculate on her motives too much outside of saying that it strickly being about pairings (hooking up with Sasuke) seems unlikely and inconsistent with most of this arc. It shortsighted, desperate, and ripe for extreme disappointment and disaster if that's all about.

So I think it's more complex, but beyond that I'm not sure of anything other than we won't find out this chapter and they'll probably be lots of premature celebration/panic when they're shouldn't be since this chapter is going to be real short on what Sakura (and Sasuke) actually think. I'll be honest, I'm not high on the double agent bit, and think its possible she genuinely believes she can save him and simply played Kiba, Sai, and Lee like suckers so they wouldn't try to stop her (and would help her find Sasuke).

My feeling though, is that this plan, is likely fail and do so spectacularily.

Derock, I think we're on the same page about the Karin part. I mean... What the heck? Okay, so she's a ninja that no one knew about, no one mentioned, and sure there are plenty of ninjas in Konoha we just don't know about, but this is a character that seemingly comes out of no where, no one knows her, and suddenly she just happens to have been from Konoha. Really now? And ooh, her team was attacked by a big scary bear and Sasuke like a knight in shining armour, swoops in to the rescue and 'smiles' at this person. This person, who he just saw, while his team is off on their own. This person, who got a smile while Sakura barely got anything of that? Why is Kishi going out of his way to shove this SasuKarin thing down my throat when I know it so contradictory to Sasuke's personality? Then of course, she's alive still. Okay, okay... Stabbed, and was laying right beside Danzou's big jutsu or whatever. Still not dead. Why... I'm trying not to flame her character, but she just conveniently screws up my idea of continuity and proper characterization. Sasuke has no reason to be there saving her in part 1; he had his own team and quite frankly as a ninja competing against the other teams wouldn't he forgo helping them? Why did she have to be from Konoha? It screws so much up...

Now, we add Sakura to the mix. She has a better shot at killing Sasuke if she's tagging along with him, but why would he and Madara allow it? She's clearly from Konoha, we're assuming her family is there, and he's just going to replace his bite-healer with her and say yeah okay, let's go off and destroy the place you called home. Even if he believed her, it's just not safe. So really, trying to convince a guy who just stabbed, but not killed (oh benevolent Sasuke, so good deep down inside!) his teammate that she wouldn't be a burden? How is this smart? She better have something up her sleeve because really this is just hard to digest. I can't suspend my disbelief for this one.

I'm with you on this Nick. While Kishimoto's choices aren't always the direction I would have taken- when it comes to either Naruto's or Sakura's plotlines, he might make an early-mid plotline decision look foolish, but some plot twist ends up making their mistake not as bad as it looks at first and they pull out some real heroic action. And Kishimoto did say at the 2009 Jump Festa he was going to write Sakura even more heroic from now on.

He really is paralleling Tsunade's plotline when she took on Orochimaru alone. Remember how Kishimoto kept it from even the readers that Tsunade was going to kill rather than heal Orochimaru? Orochimaru played on her years of deep grief and bitterness over the ninja system taking those she loved from her. She dwelled on her losses as she made her plan and then acted so no one else she cared about would become a sacrifice and went to eliminate Orochimaru alone.

I agree with you on that. Besides it will makes sense Sakura will do the same thing as Tsunade since she's her student you know what they say" like master like student"

For the first time since I've seen the spoiler, I'm actually exited to know what going to happen next. Of course, that doesn't mean 100% that Sasuke will except but, if that the case, Sakura will enter in the enemies territory and there is sooooo much possibility that could be develop.

It Sasuke does accept Sakura this could mean that she will finally realize her feelings for him and she can finally move on from Sasuke once she sees how evil and cold he has become. Also noticed how she stared at him she didn't blush or went gaga over him just like back at Orochimaru's lair. She was more cautious and calm she's well aware he's not the same Sasuke she once knew when he was on team seven. sleep.gif

Which will give Sakura a chance to do something that will appear to kill Karin but actually start a healing process. She is Tsunade's student after all and would almost certainly know something like that. It certainly would be a secret medical ninjutsu that would make sense to have, and Tsunade is someone cunning enough I would expect to have invented. Tsunade and Sakura have already shown they know how to fake being a lot more injured than they actually are. What's more Sasuke doesn't know anything about Tsunade and doesn't know anything about Sakura's current skill level either.

Of course, that is obvious that she didn't sceam her 'love' for Sasuke by saying that she want to join him. It was as if she was screaming a battle speech or something like that. Beside, she already know Sasuke's darkness but seeing it and be around him will only help the process of erasing the rest of his influence in her heart (if there is still love, of course)

Agreed. While I'm not a big fan of Karin, she could be a good source of information ( and god know how much we need that right now) about Sasuke, Madara etc.
