To put it in simple terms
I can count on one hand the number of NaruHina and SasuSaku moments combined and have fingers left over.
The number of NaruSaku moments would require both hands and at least one foot.
Simple, concise and starkly clear. Well done, Catsi563.
Amazing how people still insists on the Goku/ChiChi argument. I don't understand how it helps NaruHina. If you justify NH telling that one pairing doesn't need interaction or development to become canon, and the author can get two random characters together, then you're treating NH like a crack pairing. According that logic, NH is just so likely as NaruIno, NaruTema or NaruTsu.
Indeed, the male lead doesn't always hook up with the female lead. But usually he does and she does. And usually you can guess who will get together with who ACCORDING THE PLOT PROGRESSION.
I never thought Goku would get together with Bulma. He wasn't in love with anyone, so you could hook him up with anyone without disrupting the plot (and Toriyama usually sucked making romance. Why nobody should use him like a role model in order to write romantic scenes?).
Naruto is an entirely different matter. Naruto has shown romantic feelings towards one character since the beginning. Therefore, he isn't like Goku. And pairing him up with other girl all of sudden would be disruptive to the plot.
You can't compare both instances because they differ completely. If Kishimoto wanted Naruto fell in love with Hinata after loving Sakura during 461 chapters and not showing the slightest interest in Hinata, he would have to explain it. And ellaborating it. In spite of he has never done so in 461 chapters. And despite of we are in the middle of a saga features heavily Team 7 and their feelings, and the end of the story is nigh.
I always thought Naruto and Sakura would get together. I foresaw Naruto's feelings would endure whereas Sakura's crush on Sasuke would wane and her feelings towards Naruto would steadily increase. And that's exactly what happened.
On the other hand, NH fans have foretold many developments throughout the years. No one of their predictions have come to pass. Naruto didn't fall out of love with Sakura. Hinata didn't become a main character. Naruto didn't fall in love with Hinata when he saw her after the timeskip. Hinata didn't reassure Naruto how he had never been reassured when she found out about his jinchuuriki status (she hasn't even shown she cares, and we never saw the moment of the revelation). Their relationship didn't progress at all when they were alone during one mission (they hardly spoke at each other). Naruto didn't fall in love with her when she confessed.
Deduce what you will do.

Anyway have any of you surf through NF lately? I'm tellin' ya its burial back NH & SS are at a back concern due to recent events and they are sadly running out of things to say (especially SS)!
I never step in NF because I have a terrible opinion of that... lair. But if what you tell it's true, it must be blissfully silent now. Nice.
Nonetheless, I have to admit I'm slightly concerned after reading Kishimoto has the overall plot fully planned, but sometimes he changes things depending on the flows of the story or why he hasn't got enough time for including them.
Though, the Naruto/Sakura's relationship has been a plot has been steadily developing since the beginnning. We're nearing to the end, so I don't think he'll change it now.
Personally I think Hinata's growing of spine and confession may be one instance of things he changed abruptly (it would explain because it was so sudden). But Kishimoto hasn't shown the consequences of that scene, he hasn't used it for developing a possible relationship between Naruto and Hinata or for showing a change in Naruto's heart, he has actually restated Naruto is in love with Sakura and he is developing Sakura's feelings further. So that... If he planned getting Naruto and Sakura together, I don't think he has changed such a plan at all after chapter 437.
