It's funny how baffled guys are over how shonen-ai/yaoi is so popular and yet to them it's not only acceptable but totally hot when two chicks make out. It's the same principle, dudes. At least as far as I'm concerned.

Actually, you're talking about different things. Dormin is talking about the popularity of a crack pairing, whereas you are talking about acceptability or sex-appeal. He hasn't said two guys kissing is unaceptable or he doesn't understand why girls find it hot. He hasn't attacked your tastes or your shipping at all. He has said personally he doesn't understand why it's so popular. Period.
I can't speak for him, but I don't understand KakaIru's popularity because they have BARELY talked twice in the WHOLE manga. It's like if you tell me AnkoKure is the most popular yuri pairing. I would understand because some people would find it hot, but I would not understand its widespread popularity because they haven't interacted with each other, at least on panel (right like I don't understand NaruHina's popularity).

Well I had so many ideas for pairings but with half the village dead it kinda puts a dampner on things...
So i'd have to go with;
Hinata and Kiba, just because i like her and she deserves some happiness
Shikamaru and Temari, as they are both smart and bounce off each other, even if she hasn't been mentioned since they saved Gaara!! Where the hell is sand when you need them?!
Lee and tenten, as lee deserves to be happy to once his heart is broken and Tenten really needs to be mentioned more!
As for the others, i think ino is a cow and rude, Choji clearly has a crush on her but could do sooo much better! Nehi is arrogant as well and sasuke is a deserter so can't be trusted. As for Sai, he hasn't got a clue and Shino bless him has bugs popping out of his body...it's just wrong on so many levels!
