He technically didn't mislead the fans for 15 years, he said he did 'consider' narusaku, but then changed his mind because if Sakura changed her love interest from Sasuke to Naruto, she would be a "terrible woman". (But it's ok if Naruto, a man, does the same thing). There's no excuses to mislead fans for 15 years
Now I'm not agreeing or disagreeing with what he said, but Kishimoto is a pathetic excuse of a human being, so I understand why people have such emotions
Later on in his interviews, he essentially retconned his own previous interview, and said all the narusaku parallels were to "deliberately mislead" the audience. (Why? For the lols?)
In the other interview, he said Hinata acknowledged Naruto first, and although Sakura acknowledged Naruto as well, he felt bad for Hinata. (A poor attempt to hide his misogyny).
Then there's the other interview where he said he didn't know how SS got together. Planned for a long time? Ha!
Now we hear that Sakura's parents weren't even shown in the manga because she wasn't popular. Gee, I wonder what else Kishimoto had to take away from her because of her poor popularity.
Every time he does an interview, he comes up with a different story. I can't wait to see what comes next.

Dam, you make good points
I forgot about the interview
Also the thing about Sakura's popularity is also bs because she is the most popular female in Naruto, Japanese fans were so confused when he said she "wasn't popular"

The anime studio must really hate her, because she looked awful in this wedding.... they always have to change her compared to the manga and Kishi's sketches. It's like they toned her appearance down completely. Yet characters like Ino are emphasized
Stupid SP and their bias...
They see Sakura as a threat afterall. Because their Hinata-hime would feel insecure if they won't make Sakura ugly.

Well, there's actual popularity, and then there's perceived popularity. Actual popularity is hard to find (polls aren't very accurate when it comes to determining opinion, they're influenced by what he call "self selection bias").
Kishimoto listens to the perceived popularity. He works in the manga industry, he's surrounded by otaku who love "waifu" characters, ofcourse he's going to think Hinata is more popular than she is.

Amen, Rabbit, and given how cute Sakura can be, many NH fans see her as a threat, as do others, even if really, they should blame Kishimoto-sensei for lack of development with Hinata.

Yeah. That's when I thought SasuSaku was dead.
That was when Kishi mislead us. Funny how he loves to waste panels and pages just to mislead us.

Or just to be a dumbass who let Studio Pierrot control what he should or shouldn't do.

Wow and here I am, sitting in my chair just waiting to explain to you the most likely explanation of why kishimoto said that but you already knew.

They make it up for lots of fanservice in fillers. Even though it's irrelevant. Hinata-hime haven't won a single fight though

Nah, I'm pretty sure that's what everyone else here is thinking as well.

The funny thing is, even NH fans didn't think Naruto's feelings for Sakura would be retconned out of existence. They thought Naruto would "get over" or "give up" on Sakura because of how beautiful Hinata was.
They wanted to see Sakura punished more than anything else.

Part 2 fillers too. They even put a scene where Hinata was able to land a blow on Pain but in reality she was swatted like a fly.

Ugh I saw the scene with the genjutsu where Naruto get's to see Hinata's memories. It's funny because it's just two canon memories, the part where she gives him ointment during the exams and then when she saves him Pain. The other memory is the one with that assignment about who you want to spend the rest of your life with or whatever, because that's something that's important to learn in shinobi school. I laughed because the whole hand holding scene wasn't there, but the rest of it was horrible. It was only a little over 4 minutes long and Naruto is so sulky during the whole genjustsu, it was by far one of the most puzzling scenes I've ever laid eyes on. I'm surprised I didnt go blind.

Let's be a bit fair to SP here guys... after all they did give us the Naruto vs Mecha Naruto special that involved Naruto making a promise to protect Sakura

Unfortunately, Kishi and the staff forgot. They have forgotten everything and decided to make Naruto in favor of Hinata

Yeah, plus Kishimoto-sensei admitted he pitied Hinata, which is what I feel many NH fans feel and why they think she DESERVES Naruto, when she doesn't, given Naruto didn't necessarily have to work to "deserve" Sakura, and he always loved her, while he got guilt tripped essentially to love Hinata.

I don't know if that makes it better or worse to be honest with you. Either way you know they were just using us.
