Naruto was more obsessed with Sasuke than Sakura was. That was the one thing I hated about him. That should have been destroyed; his whole relationship with Sasuke was negative and did him no good expect to get stronger to prove he was better. That's not friendship or "brotherly love"; that's a sick twisted obsession with your rival that needed to be stamped out and resolved.
Kishit never did it.

 

Right. And you would think with a storyline so built on Sasuke that he would at least be included in the plot of the last movie. That's another aspect that's radically OOC — where the hell is Sasuke? By all rights, this movie should have been a James-Franco-Seth-Rogen-esque bromance between Naruto and Sasuke. With Team 7 moments sprinkled on top. They should be working together to fight a baddie, then partner to do some ultimate weapon. Not Hinata. It should have been epic. And in 3D. 

 

But the dropped Sasuke entirely and put Hinata in his place, all to have a date movie and set up the next series. 

 

I think Naruto will be remembered most for it's final implosion, and not for anything else.

Hinata could still have been a good character with her shyness and stuttering. If at least her so called true love for Naruto wasn't that obsessive and she was that "kind woman" to everyone, cared about everyone, not just Naruto, about her future as a clan leader or at least the future of her clan. She could decide herself that her sister would be better for a leader and still not be a bad character because she would care. But no, she was literally written as a Naruto wannabe that thinks only about Naruto-kun. What makes her stuttering so annoying is that every time she does it, it is to say the same damn line "N-Naruto-kun". She is not ridiculous because she is shy, she is ridiculous because she is Hinata, the pairing fodder, the girl that lives for a child crush. And what's even more ridiculous is her having everything she dreamed of and being treated as someone important for the plot, getting all this recognition she doesn't deserve at all.

there was actually lots of refunds but got denied. the movie won't be successful as time goes on and people really start to hear about this movie. 

Yeah I read that refunds weren't allowed ;/ Since chapter 700 was a huge slap in the face it's only natural that people want an explanation. However once words starts to get out about the kitten that is this movie sales for it are going to suffer.

If Sasuke died while redeeming himself like Darth Vader did then I would've liked his character more. Also I would've liked to see the ending where Naruto sees the ghosts of Minato, Kushina, Jiraiya and a redeemed Sasuke looking at him smiling like the Return of the Jedi ending. Then Sakura seeing them too making them the only ones to see them. They wave at them and give one last kiss.

 

Would have been better than the Sailor Moon rip-off ending we got.

I just read all the Japanese comments on tumblr about the movie ... damn, 100 anti-threads back there?  They are just oozing hate. I saw walls of translated anti-comments from them and all I could do is stare in shock at just how mad they really are. This movie may be selling well on the first day, but I can tell you right now it won't last. Just wait till the reviews come out. It will be exposed as the BS it really is.

This is hard to answer without seeing the details of the interaction in the movie. Basically, they are just best friends.

For now I believe that Sakura really is acting like an older sister towards Naruto in the movie.

She is trying to be the matchmaker b/w Naruto and Hinata.

She gives all of chakra to Naruto and collapses.

She tries to advise Naruto in terms of love and he doesn't deny it (what BS).

No matter how you try spin this, the movie is extremely profitable and has already more then payed the cost of making it.

Everything she said, but the fact that after the 3 days straight and Sakura resting, Naruto asj about Hinata and doesn't seem to care about Sakura well being. Plus Sakura said he used to love her to rival Sasuke. Which suck :(

You mean his got away with it, thanks to false advertisement and no refund policy. So no alternate ending or anything of the sort. That die with the movie success.

Not surprised by that. It is the final movie after all.

I do not want to make assumptions about the box office without being an expert myself in it. There are a lot of things to consider when talking about why and how The Last outgrew RtN in just one day.

A person who went to the movie said this:

 

Naruto and Sakura are left alone and talk about Naruto ‘finally’? confessing his feelings to Hinata. Naruto mentions that he did confess, but that it is already over because Hinata rejected him. Sakura says that Hinata must have had her reasons for rejecting him, because when a girl loves someone for that long, it is hard to just forget that person. She mentions that Naruto used to say he was in love with her, but that that was because he did not want to lose to Sasuke….Naruto gives no answer

I'm not sure if this is already here (or if it's ok to post it here), but well, some brave peruvian guy went to the premiere of the film and snuck a camera with which he recorded a very few parts (mainly from the end of the movie around the 10 minute):
