What does he mean with he decide nh early?
Early of the manga or early of the war arc.

The sad thing is we know the story already now from the spoilers and we can safely say, you did one horrible job. I think Cloud is pretty justified to be Emo...he's been  experimented on,watched his friends die, been mind f**cked, puppeted, , all but forced to fight for the sake a world without knowing who he was, gone into a catatonic state, been pieced together, saved the world...finally finds happiness and makes a family, get f**cked over again trying to save a member of that family, and all the guilt comes rushing back, and he's all but sentenced himself and his son to die by his reoccurring ability to fail at life  

He's got a pretty sh*tty life and the only bright spots are Tifa and those kids. ( and on a smaller scale probably the rest of the living gang.)

People always forget that Cloud WAS happy living with Tifa as a family, he's not miserable or moping around he's LIVING "After This, I think I'll be okay...Because I have you now." ( to Tifa.) "You've always had me." ( Tifa) "What I mean is Kind of different now." ( Cloud as he freaking smiles at her.) he gets the 'stigma, fails at saving his own life and his son's and gives up even fighting to try as the guilt of everything crushes him. He goes to that Church to WAIT and DIE. 

I don't see how people can argue Clerith is greater then Cloti...Maybe before the rest of the compilation came out, but NOW? Its pretty obvious.

 

I think people were just sick of the premise about a guy who was a sad person doing sad things. That was addressed quite well in FFVII, doing a rehash of it was tiring. It felt completely unoriginal, just like the Project G plot that was straight rip-off of Project Jenova. Now people don't remember Cloud as the guy who wanted to "mosey", they see him as Sad Keanu.
 

People seem to just argue ships for their favourite characters, I suppose. Aerith is simply incredibly popular for being a fridged character. But really, clerith isn't as touching as zerith.

 

Seph and Aerith were also lovers, then siblings in the those drafts. Tifa wasn't even going to be in the game by those drafts. You can't judge who is whose true love by what was SUPPOSED to be otherwise Sephiroth and Aerith are incestuous lovers  

The fact that Aerith is an ASSIST and not a FULL Character in comparison to Tifa in 012 just shows who the real favorite is in IMO. LEts also not forget that there are SEVERE romantic Cloti undertones and overtones in that game Yuna " You want to protect her!" Cloud; "Please protect my friend..." As he lays dying. ( one can whine that he says "Friend" but at least he mentions her despite having his true memories in this game. Aerith is never talked about.) Everything he does in that game is for Tifa, he even dies for her.  

Tifa is also presented as his light in KH, its in defense of HER from Sephiroth that he finds what he's been needing but avoiding, a mirror to their ACC relationship. He NEEDS her, but he runs from her because of his own problems. 

That line about "lets go meet her there." is like saying "We'll see her again sometime." As in WHEN THEY ALL DIE. Tifa will be there as well so....unless a person is hoping for a 3-some...  Its not Cloud going alone. He will be with TIFA as well. As for the shipping mechanics, once more there are CANON scenes in that game.

Under the Highwind, confirming matching feelings without words is a canon scene.  Again, Cloud would be an even bigger tool if he was boning Tifa while moping around for his lost True love Aerith days after she has died

You know what this looks like to me? It looks like Kishimoto is trying to say this movie isn't a retcon, it was already decided you see! Hinata-hime isn't being shoehorned in at all!!! All those parallels, plot points, character development that prove otherwise? It was just a trap, lol!

I love the fact that Kishi spent 15 years building up a pairing solely to deceive the reader. 15 years developing parallels to Kushina, Jiraiya, Obito, etc. 15 years having friends and compatriots like Sai and Yamato observe the budding relationship. 15 years, which predates the formation of Team 7, of Naruto loving Sakura. 15 years (well, a bit less), with the PoaL hanging over our heads. 15 years of Sasuke trying to kill Sakura. 15 years of Hinata hiding behind trees. All for naught?

 

Why not spend 15 years actually showing how Sasuke was conflicted? Or that there was an actual basis for SS. Or Hinata supporting Naruto's dream and not just the idealized version of Naruto she had in her head? Why not build the actual relationships?

 

The most recent comments from Kishi are the latest in a long line of awful things he's said since 700. But the more I think about it, the more I believe he's scrambling to say whatever he can to justify the retcon. You can't be that awful a writer that you would spend such a disproportionate about of time building up a pairing you know is only to deceive.

 

And if this is a parting of ways between Naruto and Sakura, what happened to the PoaL? What happened to Sakura's repeated comments that she would stand beside Naruto as his equal and partner to help him achieve Hokage? Did a magic forehead poke from Sasuke wipe out her friendship and bonds with Naruto.

This is so insulting.

The Kushina and Sakura parallel did exist and NaruSaku fans weren't imagining it. Poor NaruHina fans who always said it didn't exist.

 

Naruto did love Sakura during the series, he loved her for 699 chapters. Even if those feelings were retconned as shallow, Hinata isn't Naruto's first love like the movie tries to sell. Poor NaruHina fans who said otherwise.

 

NaruHina had no resolution in the manga, needed a movie to explain it, where Kishi himself says he falls in love in. It's confirmation that all that development in the manga was platonic from Naruto's side. Poor NaruHina fans who said he was already in love with her during the series.

 

It's bittersweet. NaruSaku doesn't look well, but neither does NaruHina.

In any case NS was too developed compared to the "canon pairing " to be a Red herring. This is not how you do à Red herring.

The paralallel with Kushina then was just for jokes? Why put it then? It didn't add nothing to the story if it was just for jokes and is too strong to be considered a Red herring.
