First of all, Ayato really has matured in here! He seems to be a lot calmer than the last time we saw him (and more handsome, lol).

Who is the "child" Saeki is referring to? He seems to be protecting someone. Initially I thought he meant Hinami b/c of the image of the person reflected in his eyes looked a lot like her... But why would Torso care about Hinami?

Speaking of Hinami, I just read over Ch.4, and I noticed this:

Ch.4

Hinami says:" The usual, please."
Torso:"...Ok".
He hands her something that looks like a USB stick... I can't identify what is written on there...
What do you think this scene is? Torso might know some valuable information which is why Nishiki is after him.

I'm glad to hear that you like Touken so much and have so much hope for them. I trust Ishida, too, I really do- except when it comes to "cannon romance". I'm convinced that the two of them will have a romantic relationship going on later, but will it be "cannon" in the end? That's what I am worried about. Either one of them might die... So right now, there's a 70% of Touken becoming cannon in the end in my eyes.
Sasaki was blushing during that handkerchief scene! And he called her beautiful. Before I even read Tokyo Ghoul, I already fell in love with this scene (again tumblr dashboard).
Btw, that line with "I think I had such a beautiful person in my life before" might be wrong. Several translators on tumblr said that what Sasaki is really saying is this:" To think that such a beautiful person exists." The differences in these two translations are obvious.

I mean I can see that moment coming up again as something between Kaneki and Touka, but them becoming canon at that setting would be interesting.

Yeah I know translators usually leave people with different assumptions especially when people use Mangapanda and Mangastream. Now if it's the translation where Sasaki says "I think I had such a beautiful person in my life before" then yeah crazy things are gonna happen once he remembers who he was.

I also wonder where Hinami was heading... She looks like she acts as an informant b/c the Aogiri Tree told her info about Torso and the quinkies, too. I'm not sure whether or not she knows about Sasaki's true identity... Assuming she works together with Ayato, maybe...

I wonder what happened to Banjou though T_T The last time we saw him, he was with Hinami.

That would be cool if Touken became cannon at that setting. Ch.71 is one of my favorite moments! So powerful those words: "Don't leave me alone."- "I won't." It would mean a lot to me if that ship became cannon. I hate, hate to use the word "deserve" when it comes to shipping b/c I always associate that word with Hinata whom NH claimed to have deserve Naruto (complete BS). But both Sasaki and Touka... They really deserved each other. They proofed to each other how worthy they are to be each other's partner. Kaneki did not want to let Touka come with him b/c he knew that he would endanger her and that she would have to give up her life in the human world which she has grown to love so much. Touka has saved Kaneki countless times and she holds on to the belief that he will return. Ch.10 was emotional, but I'm prepared for even bigger feels in the future.

What forums do you go to? I haven't found the official Tokyo Ghoul fandom forum yet- and neither did I find a Touken forum, lol. Oh well, this manga just started exploding this yr, and thank god we got into TG early enough to catch up. It was good that it was after Ch.7 b/c the suspense in :re not knowing whether Sasaki is really Kaneki would have killed us.

We'll see which translation is right when :re will get released in the US (which will probably yrs from now T_T).

Hmm, it's true that something must have happened in Germany that motivated Kanou to leave the CCG. I wonder though what Kaneki's dad was doing in Germany...
Oh, do you know when Kanou went to Germany? About how many yrs ago was it? I remember in Ch.4 of :re this speech from Akira:

The quinque was created in Germany, apparently, by that german scientist and the father of the current CCG chairmen Tsuneyoshi Washuu. Maybe Kaneki's father was a CCG investigator and accompanied Yoshiu to Germany ? That could be the only possible explanation to me as to why he was in Germany. Kanou might have also accompanied Yoshiu, too, and experience some life-changing experience while he was in Germany.

Touken was one of the reason why I got into Tokyo Ghoul! I saw the reunion on my tumblr dashboard and immediately got mesmerized by Touka's beauty (but I didn't recognize her first, lol).
I wonder, too, about Aogiri. Most likely, the organization wants to use one-eyed ghouls as soldiers due to their strength. Based on Eto's last line in Ch.143, their goal is to created other one-eyed ghouls just as strong as Kaneki.

"Sh*tty Kaneki". I hope Touka in :re will curse out of all a sudden and surprise Sasaki XD Speaking of which, do you remember this?

Yup! I think that's how Kaneki learns about the Clown Mask group and starts putting two and two together. I think that at some point Kaneki will remember that conversation with Hide. Uta already told him about his past, and I'm pretty sure that included which ward he was from (I can't actually remember if he told tKaneki though, I'm pretty sure he did.) If Kaneki remembers that convo with Hide, he could put together that the guy he saw the night Rize died was a part of the same gang described in the book. He could also remember that they operated in the third ward, the same as Uta. And if he remembers back, he could remember the clown mask on Uta's wall, he could connect Uta with the group. And even if he doesn't necessarily connect Uta, he does have Itori's friend, who was the one in the clown mask at the restaurant. If he takes that into account, then Itori and Uta automatically pop up on Kaneki's radar. 

 

Lol that was a mouthful XD but I expect that book to come in play later on, or the author that wrote it, in order to catch Uta's gang.

Good for you, b/c that chapter 71 man, THAT chapter... So many damn feels in these last words and panels. It was that chapter that really won many people over, I think.

Hmm, who knows. Kanou's and Aogiri's interest are right now the same since they are cooperating with one another.

Kaneki's old shoes? Lol, but why would she leave them like that in the middle of the ground? Those shoes will become important later on, so we should keep an eye on them (although they look like every other pair of sneakers I've seen so far in TG).

I'm annoyed at how the girls are oversexualized, and how the guys prefer to walk half-naked around 24h. Lol, have you read other seinen mangas before? What is fanservice in those other mangas like?

When Sasaki meets Suzuya for the first time, the latter one gives him money back b/c back then, Suzuya stole money from Kaneki in Ch.47 of Part 1:

One Piece doesn't really have much fanservice that I notice, AoT doesn't AgK doesn't...I don't really think bleach does. FT does a lot though XD

It's funny, both you and LuckyChi7 came back to post about Ch.71. I can't wait to see more members possibly posting something about this chapter. Imagine this chapter will get animated!

I'm rereading :re right now, and oh boy, I caught up on so many things! And besides that, I'm still getting super excited when I read Ch.6 & Ch.7. I've never seen such a perfect planned troll from any mangaka before, really. Easily one of the top ten manga moments this year in my opinion. Youtube reactions to chapter 7 were priceless.

Yeah, I read what you wrote about FT in Chatte's thread. Tbh, FT is not the only manga I'm annoyed at with fanservice: One Piece and Bleach sometimes... But it's not that bad that it annoys me 24h. I guess I tolerate the fanservice presented in those two mangas. AoT, lol, zero Fanservice (although Mikasa was shown to have a sixpack). Hmm, it's hard to put AoT into a category... Some say it's directed more towards seinen, others say more towards shounen. I personally think seinen.

A translator on tumblr summarized some interesting info from a TG:re Volume 1 omake:

TG:re Volume 1 omake is killing me. (If no one translates it, I’ll do it tomorrow, I’m too busy right now ;~;)

This is the important bits I got from it:

- Sasaki’s birthday is April 2nd. I wonder if this is when he “died” as Kaneki, or if this is when he actually woke up after his fought Arima.

- Sasaki has another award other than the White Wing Award, and it’s called 金木犀… aka Kinmokusei…aka another way of pronouncing Kaneki’s name in kanji. So yeah, Sasaki has KANEKI AWARD. *falls off chair.

- The current timeline in TG:re is around September if we are basing it on Saiko’s birthday, September 4th.

- Mutsuki is confirmed a Bikaku.

- Urie, Shirazu and Saiko graduated from the same academy.

- Mutsuki is also AB blood type. More similarities to Kaneki. o.o;

- Saiko is skilled at… typing. (Is this because she is so skilled at button smashing? XD;;;)

Summary:

Kuramoto made the nickname “Bujin” for “Take”omi so they won’t mistake him with “Take” Hirako, since they both have similar name. Bujin is another way of pronouncing Takeomi’s name in Kanji.

The second one is really funny. 

Toward Investogator A (Amon), Donato: “Koutaro, my beloved son.”

Toward Investigator B, Donato: “What a stupid theory. The only thing good about you is the quality of your flesh. In exchange for wasting my time, you should pull out your intestines, and *censored*, and *censored*

Toward Investigator C, Donato: “Don’t use tape recorder. How can you aim to be an investigator if you can’t even remember what we just talked. If I were you, I would have committed suicide.”

The last one is basically Mutsuki checking Saiko’s twitter, and realized that she has lied about not feeling good. Her twitter in general is filled with a bunch of nonsense otaku related. And Mutsuki is feeling guilty for spying on Saiko’s twitter.

Saiko called Sasaki “Mommy (the job edition)” and how delicious his meal is. She also wished there’s a job that allows her to play games and watches anime all day. <—- That’s my dream job, Saiko-chan. XD;;;

Last but not least, Saiko is at least gracious enough to wash her dishes.

Summary:

Mutsuki is asking Shirazu about how does it feel to get his Kagune out. Shirazu replied that it’s like when your butt opens and poop comes out.

Mutsuki then asks Urie the same question and told him about Shirazu’s opinion (the butt thing), and Urie imagines Shirazu’s “butt” coming out of his back while saying “Urie, let’s go with my bomber!”

I have a very important question: WHAT IS SASAKI EATING??

 

Well, I’m surprised that a lot of people are only asking this now. Shouldn’t the question be asked the instance they introduced Kokuria and Donato in TG? How are they keeping the ghouls alive there without going insane like Rize? Even Rize still needs to eat something.

So my answer to that would be… whatever ways they have to keep the ghouls in Kokuria is probably the same method they gave to Sasaki. I’ve seen various theories like liquid ghoul, criminals, organ cloning, etc. It does make you wonder if the method is legal, why CCG never attempted to use this to make peace with the ghouls? I wonder if this is going to be a major plot point because Ishida-sensei has been purposely withholding answering this question for quite some tim

 

Ch. 115 of TG is also very enigmatic. Takatsuki aka Eto visits the CCG headquarters, spills some top secret information about the CCG, and just leaves again. Whatever the reason was to tell Amon about this, it causes him to question the CCG.

The bottom line is: So far we have no clue what Takatsuki's motif was to tell a ghoul investigator all this. I'm 100% we'll find out more about in :re.

I wonder what happened to Banjou though T_T The last time we saw him, he was with Hinami.

That would be cool if Touken became cannon at that setting. Ch.71 is one of my favorite moments! So powerful those words: "Don't leave me alone."- "I won't." It would mean a lot to me if that ship became cannon. I hate, hate to use the word "deserve" when it comes to shipping b/c I always associate that word with Hinata whom NH claimed to have deserve Naruto (complete BS). But both Sasaki and Touka... They really deserved each other. They proofed to each other how worthy they are to be each other's partner. Kaneki did not want to let Touka come with him b/c he knew that he would endanger her and that she would have to give up her life in the human world which she has grown to love so much. Touka has saved Kaneki countless times and she holds on to the belief that he will return. Ch.10 was emotional, but I'm prepared for even bigger feels in the future.

What forums do you go to? I haven't found the official Tokyo Ghoul fandom forum yet- and neither did I find a Touken forum, lol. Oh well, this manga just started exploding this yr, and thank god we got into TG early enough to catch up. It was good that it was after Ch.7 b/c the suspense in :re not knowing whether Sasaki is really Kaneki would have killed us.

We'll see which translation is right when :re will get released in the US (which will probably yrs from now T_T).

Sasaki and company are assigned to to hunt down Aogiri and that is where Hinami gets prepared to fight, but then only a confrontation takes place, but also Hinami's reaction in seeing Sasaki damnnnn that would be just OMG!!!


As for Banjou seriously where the hell has he been since the ending of Tokyo Ghoul, I mean i guess I should give Ishida some leeway since re technically just started. Thought based on how things have are being set up there is always one character being reintroduced in the story in chapter 9 it was Touka, and chapter 11 it was Suzayu.

As for the forum, I forgot where it was I saw this at, but it was there then it would be interesting for Touken to happen there.

Well if we're going by calculation I know Volume 1 of Tokyo Ghoul comes out on June 16th, 2015. I'd give it around 2018 or 2019 for us to get the re volumes unless it goes on an Attack on Titan route where we got 1 volume a month before we caught up with Japan's volume release dates.

Yeah, I loved those two omakes. Both were rather insightful. Considering that meeting b/w Sasaki and Akira was the epilogue to volume 14 of Tokyo Ghoul, you should automatically catch up that Sasaki is Kaneki

This waiting is killing me. Banjou better come back soon! Tsukiyama also reappeared in Ch.11, but I hope to get a monologue from him next chapter. I've been thinking for a while which original character Ishida will show the last, and I think it will be Hide b/c let's be honest: There's no way Hide is dead. No way. Next to Touka, Hide is the most important person in Kaneki's life. As much as I love Touken, HIde and Kaneki understand each other the best. They've known each other for yrs and have gone through thick and thin, the best friends they are. I loved that last scene b/w Hide and Kaneki in which Hide said:" I've always known man. Who cares. Let's go home." Them feels.

That will take forever... 2018/19... I didn't know that we are up to date with the AoT volumes.

Oh yeah it's very likely that Hinami's got the potential to do so, and hopefully Ishida delivers in that category. If a fight between her and Sasaki does come down in the manga I picture him saying, "You've come a really long way",  after he remembers who he really was.

If Tokyo Ghoul gets that type of response here in the US then the possibility of the volumes releasing every month is pretty likely for Tokyo Ghoul as well.

Yeah, Kaneki/Sasaki acknowledging Hinami after everything that has happened would be wonderful. I hope we get to see this brother-sister relationship again that Kaneki and Hinami had back then. It was really adorable how Shironeki always opened up to HInami and showed to her his softer sight.

But what will Sasaki do once he remembers who he really is? Just leave the CCG? He can't go back to his previous life w/out being chased by the CCG.

I hope that will happen, I really do. It sucks that it takes so long for a manga to get released.

Aot: That's fast, really. I'm surprised how the anime has boosted AoT's popularity so much. Hopefully, TG will get a reboot anime one day...

I get the feeling the black streak in his hair is gonna stay throughout the remainder of the series unless Sasaki changes it to completely white once he remembers what his previous life was like.

You want to see a fight b/w Sasaki and Hinami while I am dying to see a fight b/w Akira and Touka. Fate will bring those two women together. Akira's father killed Touka's father Arata. Without knowing it, Touka then revenged her father by killing Akira's father. Someday, I believe that Akira will confront "Rabbit" to revenge her dad, I just know it. What I often imagined though is that she will face Touka with her rabbit mask so that Akira won't find out Touka's true identity until later. Akira might see Touka often together with Sasaki but not suspect anything right away. I've imagined something like this happening in my head a lot of times before.

Let's be patient and see whether or not our predictions will come true ;) Patience is virtue just like AoT has shown us after all these months.

Something tragic will definitely happen to the CCG and maybe force Sasaki to leave. I also don't think that Sasaki's black hair streak will go away. I mean, it's obvious that this black-white streak is quite symbolic for this current version of Kaneki we have. Unlike Kuroneki or Shironeki, Sasaki is a mix in b/w those two versions. And tbh, I would prefer for that black streak to stay there throughout the rest of :re (not the rest of his life of course). I love both Kuroneki and Shironeki, but wouldn't want Sasaki remember his past just to completely retrack back to Shironeki. That white-haired Kaneki was badass but was mentally conflicted. It'd be awesome to have a Sasaki who is both badass and a lot calmer and more collected in his fights.

It's funny, both you and LuckyChi7 came back to post about Ch.71. I can't wait to see more members possibly posting something about this chapter. Imagine this chapter will get animated!

I'm rereading :re right now, and oh boy, I caught up on so many things! And besides that, I'm still getting super excited when I read Ch.6 & Ch.7. I've never seen such a perfect planned troll from any mangaka before, really. Easily one of the top ten manga moments this year in my opinion. Youtube reactions to chapter 7 were priceless.

Yeah, I read what you wrote about FT in Chatte's thread. Tbh, FT is not the only manga I'm annoyed at with fanservice: One Piece and Bleach sometimes... But it's not that bad that it annoys me 24h. I guess I tolerate the fanservice presented in those two mangas. AoT, lol, zero Fanservice (although Mikasa was shown to have a sixpack). Hmm, it's hard to put AoT into a category... Some say it's directed more towards seinen, others say more towards shounen. I personally think seinen.

I still haven't decided if it's a troll or just fantastic writing lol because to be honest, he could have just continued the manga and everyone would have been ok. What made the difference is that they thought the manga was ending. That's why everyone flipped. If he had just continued writing, there wouldn't be talk about it XD 

 

Interesting. I never really thing that OP has fanservice. To me, fanservice is like when they're dressed in a way when there's really no need to be. With OP, I don't really see the problem in (for example) Nami wearing a bikini top, because they're on a ship. So it kinda makes sense to me, where as in FT theyre dressed like that just because...idk, I guess it depends on your definition.
