So chapter 12 is finally up, about time I was starting to get impatient lol 

 

I should've read it yesterday, but I got a little busy plus my throat's kinda been annoying right now so if I sound sick in my live reaction that'll be mainly the reason why. Aside from that though here is my live reaction/review to Chapter 12.

Chapter 13 is leaving some huge expectations for me.

Well, it was speculated that the owl and the king were the same...

 

Yeah, these clowns are everywhere lol although, the clown that was with Nico can't be Shachi, because Nico was talking to the clown just as the conflict in the 11th ward ended. Shachi was still locked up in the prison at that time. I do wonder why Shachi joined Aogiri though, it was said by his subordinates that he would never join a group like them...

 

Actually, I'm not sure we'll see much of the 24th ward. The reason I posted that was becuae I was frustrated with myself. Later, Kaya mentioned that the underground was Anteiku's escape route during their last stand against the CCG. She told Kaneki to evacuate through there once he helped Yoshimura. I should have noticed it then what was going to happen, the page I posted said that the underground is Arima's hunting ground, he was in charge of ghoul extermination in the 24th ward due to the high class ghouls down there. I should have expected him to show up down there when Kaya mentioned it.

 

That scene was from chapter 84. Hide explains everything there. He never really suspected Yamori, he says that he has a hobby to play "detective" and go around an follow suspicious looking people, and if they do something wrong, he phones the police. He saw Yamori somewhere (I think outside anteiku) and thought that he might be up to no good, so he followed him and managed to plant a bug on the bottom of his shoe by running into him and pretending to drop some coins on the ground, which Yamori stepped on. He followed Yamori to the 11th ward and sent the CCG an anonymous tip. 

 

Kanoe was a CCG coroner before he left for Germany, when he came back from Germany, he left the CCG. That gets explained by Shinohara before the Kanoe mansion arc. 

 

Yeah, Shachi was one of the ones that Aogiri broke free during the raid of the 23rd ward's prison.

Oh, I know that that clown next to Nico was not Shachi. It was most likely Souta, the clown we've seen from the Ghoul restaurant. Good question about Shachi's motives. His subordiantes in Ch.86 say that he was someone who usually doesn't kill needlessly. Kaneki said you can't escape Aogiri Tree so easily though (like in the case with Torso)... They might have forced him to joing them, but it doesn't look like it. Maybe it has something to do with genetics? That last name Kamishiro seems to be something special since it doesn't really exist...

Imao, a lot of details escaped me especially during the Anteiku Raid Arc... I'm frustrated about it, too, tbh. Let's hope Arima didn't kill Itori and Monkey guy (forgot his actual name).

It's just strange that Hide attached that microphone on Yamori' shoe... I don't think it was a coincidence now that I've reread Ch.86.

Yeah, I know that about Kanou. What I forgot to mention is that it is implied that he might have had something to do with the Quinque weapons.

Ugh, I've had a conversation with someone on youtube that said that he's afraid Ishida might now answer all these unleft questions Ishida left open at the end of Ch.143. And I'm facepalming myself and wonder how much little faith you can have in Ishida?! Impatience is really getting on my nerves sometimes when it comes to the TG fans.

My lord, Tsukiyama got fat. I bet that when he learns Kaneki is alive, he eats himself to turn skinny again out of joy XD

Interesting how Amon is back and is the key to Kaneki's memories. Although a part of me hopes that Touka is a big influence on that

I loved the small Touken scene, she knows how he loves books sad though that she didn't have any Latte Art in his coffee :(

That Donato clown really intrigues me. His information is really good. I would also keep in mind that the Nutcracker works from the 13th ward, that fact has been stated multiple times now.

Ch.12

For some reason, a lot of people said that he's fat. Can you tell where you can see his extra pounds? I can barely make out the profile. Poor Tsukishima, he ought to start with Chie Hori as a little dessert XD

It's often been said that Amon is sort of acting as the foil character to Kaneki... I hope Touka will play a role, too, especially when Sasaki is going badsh*t insane and can't control himself. Don't laugh, but I've often imagined to be similar to the scene where Naruto was about to give up and met his mom who said:" You belong here."- Or maybe just another "Sh*tty Kaneki" line is enough to give him the final push

Me, too! We can expect more scenes like these in the future. Jesus Christ, just ask Touka for her number already, Sasaki.

Finally this damn chapter is out. At least everything is sort of back to normal now. Spoilers should be released on Sunday.

What made this chapter for me were four things:

1) Donato and Sasaki's conversion

2) Amon's profile

3) Sasaki visiting :re

4) "We're becoming girls."- Can't wait for the crossdressing

Honestly, I'm gonna go on a rampage if Ishida will ignore Touka again b/c I miss seeing her in action. I hope she will work together/coorperate with Sasaki a lot in the future.

I think Shachi willingly worked for Aogiri, it didn't seem like he had any qualms doing things on their behalf, like rescuing Kanoe from Kaneki.

Speaking of Kanoe, looks like I got the timeline wrong: Kanoe graduated from school and became a research assistant and the GFG (pretty sure that's the German version of the GFG, I think it was where the quinque was invented). From there he came over to the CCG and suddenly left to take over his dad's hospital. So you might be right about him having something to do with the quinque.

Itori? You mean Kaya right? The dog masked chick that worked at Anteiku along with Enji? I hope they're not dead.

Yeah, I'm not sure how people can have so little faith.

I've reread Ch.93/94 to understand Kanou's connection to Aogiri Tree better, and idiotically realized that Kanou didn't join Aogiri Tree until later somewhere around Ch. 98-99. In Ch.93, we see Tatara tormenting the nurse Taguchi whom Shachi kidnapped to figure out Kanou's location. But in addition to this it seems to be something else that Tatara refers to "it", so an object or something like that. It might have something to do with what you mentioned as "to smoke out a liar."

I don't know about you, but the way Tatara is phrasing the last sentence sounds to me like "Aogiri Tree" in here is an object. And what the heck does Aogiri mean anyways?! I can't find the translation to it.

As for Shachi, he really did to willingly have joined Aogiri although that decision goes against his personality. He even seems to respect humans a little bit b/c he is using Martial Arts. For sure, Rize must have done something to him that made him despise her:

Ugh, I totally forgot that Nico told Kaneki about the One-Eyed- King in this scene! Kaneki looks shocked...

Btw, I don't know if I have missed this somewhere, but how the heck did Yomo find out where Rize was? And to comment on that one page from Ch.86, do you think Yomo might have known about Rize being hunted by Aogiri Tree?

One last thing, I'd like to mention is this:

Taro-chan was the first "pet" Madam A had. Looks like Kanou tried to do other experiments on him.

I just wanted to point out that while Kaneki and the twins have AB blood type, the bloody type seems not to matter in these experiments. So it might be something else that ensures the success of an experiment.

 

Ch.12

I really hope Tsukishima didn't become fat b/c I'd like to see him in action again. Pls some "Tres Bien" and "Fortissimo" scenes, Ishida-sensei.

Touka, pls, help Sasaki remember who he is!

You know, what I like about this chapter is the way Ishida put the coffee shop scene directly in b/w the dialogue with Donato and Amon's appearance. While Donato is referring to Amon while he is talking with Sasaki, you get the feeling that Touka in that scene is part of those memories that Sasaki will unlock in the future. I honestly think that seeing this coffee shop scene while hearing Donato and Sasaki talking in the background animated, does not only clear up the confusion many readers initially first had but would also be really cool.

Especially the last page feels like a juxtaposition to what is Sasaki's present and past.

Uhm, I heard that spoilers will be out on Sunday. So the chapter will probably be out somewhere around the 20th-22nd (Tue-Th).

Well considering that we're already 12 chapters in and Sasaki is already beginning to dwell into the stages of his breakdown it won't be long before he and Touka will have to work together. I'm gonna say either chapter 25 or chapter 30 is when that'll hit. It just seems perfect because based on the basing you can get somewhere in that short amount of timespan. wouldn't you agree?

Just to clarify: This picture is not a fanart. It was drawn by Ishida and showcases to us the upcoming ghouls on the top. Looks like, we'll get to see another weird ghoul named "Scarecrow" soon.

EDIT: Scarecrow seems to be a very weak ghoul, too. Just "C" rated.

We should have asked ourselves that question a lot earlier!

So far it remains unknown how exactly Kaneki feeds himself.

I had discussions with people who believe that the ending of TG sucked. While that is absolutely true, some are convinced that these questions won't be answered in :re. Why wouldn't they?! Don't they have any faith in Ishida? Or mangakas in general (unless you are Masashi Kishimoto).

I think that Sasaki will get his memories back sooner than we think. Your suggestion sounds pretty good. Most likely Amon will show up in the next ten chapters or so and give Sasaki the final push to unlock his memories.

I wonder how Kanoe got involved with Aogiri in the first place...

Looks like a lot of people hate Rize, as Shachi isn't the first to mention it.

I don't know exactly how Yomo knew, maybe they were keeping tabs on Kaneki, as that wouldn't be to far out of the question for Anteiku to do. I think that Yomo knows everything to do with Rize and Kaneki, it's just that early on in the series Yoshimura said that they should let Kaneki walk on his own else he would never learn how to defend himself, and this comes after Yomo mentioned helping him.

Speaking of Yomo:

This scene takes place when Uta is telling Kaneki about his history with Yomo following the Kanoe arc when Yomo showed up and took Rize. Apparently Yomo was a cannibal. What are the chances Yomo has a Kakuja?

I'm not sure what that other something is, as Kanoe said that his success rate on experiments was close to zero.

Yeah, I can't help but think that it's going to be a combination of everybody to help him remember who he is.
