I would like to see. But I got to say, Ishida sure is killing us on wondering on some characters. We already got good amount of them, just missing Hide in terms of close bonds.

I don't care for who chose SP (well I do), that's not the point. They have one job and they screwed up. It's like messing up AoT. Let's be honest, if it wasn't like what we got, I don't even think the popularity would have boom that greatly.

Yes they had one job and they screwed up. In Season 1. The staff of Season 1 had people of the story board, Season 2 not, meaning that Ishida took a more active role in the narrative position.
And that's precisely why i'm cautioning against blaming SP more than they deserve (and they already have a place in the deepest pit of the creative hell right next to the guys who made 'Road to Hell:Retribution')! We don't know just how much of the plot was decided/created by Ishida but i still see people cursing SP for narrative reasons...

Maybe because Ishida didn't want to make a 90° turn immediately? There are only very minor differences in Season 1 (if at all, i didn't watch season 1 so much because of too much similar plot) which build up to bigger differences in Season 2 which in turn build up the original Season 3 -which is exactly why i like what Ishida did with the anime adaption. Too much divergence too fast is unrealistic, at least in my opinion. Even if Season 1 was a bit too similar to the manga....
And i don't excuse SP "too much". I don't simply blame them for things that aren't in their hand anyway.
Yes and that is something we don't know who to blame for, was it Ishida for giving SP the rights for the adaption or his publisher? I don't doubt for even one second that it wouldn't have been better if Madhouse or one of the other studios got the rights but this is what happened.
Yes, the overarching plot. Including the divergence of Root A, from what i've read on different Internet sites was that Ishida simply wanted to explore a different route. What Ishida didn't like had to be HOW SP handled the divergence points and (maybe) censorship of a few scenes. Instead of writing, "Kaneki brings Hides corpse to the CCG-CP and meets Arima. No fight between them", he has to specify a bit more and maybe even impress upon the responsible ones what exactly he wants.
Sason 1 was rushed as hell, it was okay animation wise but it skipped a lot of things. Thats why Ishida had to step in, to adjust it and make the second season fit for 12 episodes ( SP's limit) and even like that SP still managed to kitten things up with some bad animation and some nonsensical things
Root A was supposed to be an alternate route but few things changed and those things had almost no difference to the general plot of the manga, it was not "A different take Ishida wanted to do".
Seriously, root A is just an excuse for not to have an not proper adaptation. I refuse to believe this was Ishida's original draft.
What seinen anga author would actually cut up the last bloody fight of his MC? Where the said MC suffers from a major character development at the same time?
Even if we analysed root A as an standalone anime things will look nonsensical like the non appeareance of Kanou/Kurona/Nashiro, the lack of follow up on Sachi, Touka running for 3 episodes and doing nothing. Smh
We can only lament the rights of TG ended up with SP, they could do a good job like they did with Yona but alas they f**cked up

I curse them for narrative reasons because its clear some things from the plot ended like this thanks to them , like cutting up the last fight because it would probably have too much blood to censor

And where's your proof!? ![]()
Seriously, don't just assume things ![]()
Oh, and Root A had plenty of diverging points which result in small-middle big changes (Kaneki doesn't go Kakuja against Amon, fights or doesn't fight against Arima, the while Kanou mansion arc doesn't happen...) and as i said it earlier, that is what makes it far superior to other diverging animes (like FMA, urgh).

FMA is a bad example... Didn't it come out before even the manga ended? Just like AgK that didn't end yet, they had to make some stuff up.
But FMA is not the problem here.
It's Root A. One of my biggest complains I have is hinting but never revealing who the Pierrots, the mastermind behind everything, are. People will never start hating on Uta, Irimi, Nico, and Roma (although some still love them).
