I couldn't agree more with this guy. I went into the last episode thinking or hoping you were exaggerating but sadly you weren't.

Wow, guys, can you calm down? Maybe a little bit? You know that Ishida actually wrote the script for the anime? The only kittenups you can levy on Studio Pierot are maybe the art, animation and minor details...

 

And i haven't heard anything of Ishida doing what SP wants, so it stands to reason that everything that happened in the anime was as Ishida wanted it to be...

That's what I heard and I don't blame SP. For me it doesn't matter who wrote the script I just thought the last epsiode was boring and didn't like it. It wasn't what I expected it to be. To be honest I will most likely watch season 3.

Ok, I'm gonna try to calm down.

I guess I was very biased and angry when I've first finished the anime. Not what I expected at all... So anticlimatic.

I've been told that this was the original route Ishida has planned for the manga? Well thank god he didn't.

I'd like to know how much Ishida was involved with this adaptation.

It did feel like a way to close off like a read the manga ending. Somewhat like Blue Exorcist, Soul Eater, etc.

Edit: But you know, it's not easy to handle 12 episodes limit. You'll be like "Err, kitten...I got to cut short."

Edit 2: For the record, it's still up to how studio handles it. It's like games, you get the character and there you go. For anime, depends on your schedule, you have to make sure it flows good. Who to say it's all there.

And boy, I am seeing lots of hate on anime.

No, screw that. It is Studio Pierrot fault. Not the script, fine whatever, but the presentation is all them. And yes, I do mean more than visual. I mean narrative and all.

SP was very lazy in fights this season, it was lazy in this episode too.

 

Somehow I doubt Ishida's original script for a seinen such as Tokyo Ghoul didn't involve the final bloody fight between Kaneki and Arima, my guess is SP didnt made the fight because they are lazy asses, seriously. they took three entire minutes to show Kaneki  walking from point A to B and then they cut everything out in the best part

We also got no closure on Sachi,Rize, the twins, Kanou, Eto, Aogiri.

 

I just hope there is a original anime season 3 to fix this mess

 

Then Tokyo Ghoul Brotherhood can come in the hands of a better animation team

I can't guarantee it is them but because of circumstance, it's highly likely the most percent of fault belongs to SP. They already ruined the first one (it's not hard to figure it out), so you can only argue that Ishida could gain some percent of fault but SP is still the most. The presentation, the art style (of course Ishida can't tell them to change it, come on), narrative and perhaps even planning. This series was limited, so who to say what wasn't scrapped.

 

Bottom line, people should stop asking for season 3. Ask for brother-kittening-hood.

When we say SP we are refering to the higher ups, the animators don't have that much of a fault.

SP was probably fighting against budget problems because of the crazy animation they pulled off in Naruto:the last so that's why these animators had less resources to work it compared to TG season 1

 

just look at TG season 1 episode 12 and compare to any episode from root A, the diffference is too much

After watching the episode I will admit though

 

The first part was good. It was touching, that Hidekane scene, I will give them that. Though I missed white haired Kaneki introspection

 

Then at the last part problem started, like showing Touka running around doing nothing just for her to have the same outcome of the manga ( seriously, she was there at the raid, couldn't they put her doing anything worth ? ), then wasting time on the "Kaneki walk".

 

They could have used their time better, showed Aogiri + Kanou and Kaneki vs Arima

 

ep 12

Hell they couldn't even show the MC's "death" properly, he was "killed" off-screen  

 

And the clowns? They weren't even revealed

 

 

Bonus points for Unravel tho, even though it was used in such a anticlimatic scene
