Btw, did HxH ever break any shounen standards? Just curious.
Every single last chapter in HxH is a deconstruction of shounen. Kind of like Onepunch-man. Almost every shounen stereotype you can think of- HxH has deconstructed. That's why I'm still wondering how it's not considered one of the best mangas of its time 
(Well I think we know why- Hint: starts with a H and ends with a S) But at this point it's even believable that the two main characters (hence: HUNTER X HUNTER) will officially be romantically canon. Now that's new for a shounen.

Not that I can think of. It pretty typical in the way it was written, but it was written really well.

I'll watch HxH over the summer. Promise. It's on my number one priority list. I was seriously missing out back then when the reboot came out T_T
I noticed btw how you and unburnt often mentioned Hisoka... I think I have a crush on him 
He's one of the most iconic villains (?) I've ever seen. Some scenes of him had me like 
(but dude, what is up with his voice in the 1999 version?! Sounds almost like he has a frog stuck in his mouth). 
But I'm hype for One- Punch Man! Did you see the trailer yet? I never thought about that... One-Punch Man a deconstruction of the shounen genre...

He's not supposed to die as a plot device, dammnit !!!! True ships shouldn't require someone to die.
If he dies, dunno... The only way I'd see him redeem himself if he sacrifices himself for something in the future. At least his death would have meaning.
