Japan hate sakura.
And the latest popularity poll put sakura on 11 or 12 along with sai.

I wouldn't say hate. At first it was more indifference. Now it's dislike bc of what she has done. 11 to 12 is still pretty impressive. The only girl who was higher than her was Hinata and in all of the other polls Sakura beat her by one.

That rumor is probably true given what Kishi said about Sakura being hated. Hated among the western fanbase, though. Kishi's an idiot (or the one he presents himself as), so it's not much of stretch to think that he believes whatever people tell him. You can tell that he's easily manipulated by those around him.
 
You can't switch out the heroine though? LOL. Like tricksie mentioned, that's like replacing Hermione half way through because Luna Lovegood was more popular. You can't replace anyone for that matter. Once they're in (so chapter 1), they're in for good. Characters are given their roles in the story and it's permanent - no debates. This is stuff you have to sort out from the beginning! Hinata is a secondary character with no relation to Naruto's story/Naruto's life. Sakura is a main character, a member of team 7, the heroine, and the protagonist's love interest - no. freaking. debate. Only delusional people will try to argue that a secondary character like Hinata should become a MC and take Sakura's roles. 
 
I partly blame SP for this. Look at Hinata's confession. SP presented it as some "heroic, beautiful love confession" that she should get rewarded for when in the manga it was probably the stupidest thing anyone could have pulled. Her confession was selfish and dangerous to Naruto and those around her. She didn't listen to his warning to stay away and she didn't believe in his strength. She doesn't even know about his condition as a jinchuriki if he was to explode. This is what the manga told us. Though in the anime it came off as Hinata being heroic and that she should get rewarded for her sacrifice. Even in all the Hinata fillers, she's presented as some sweet, innocent, busty girl who should get everything because she's pure, while Sakura is presented as some rude b*tch who looks down on Naruto. SMH no wonder people think like this. You shouldn't insert your contradicting biases that deviate away from what the manga says. Otherwise you're going to have a whole kitten load of delusional people with set opinions like "Hinata should be the heroine", "Hinata should get with Naruto" and all the Hinata this, Hinata that etc.  
 
Obviously that's not the only reason why all these idiots hate Sakura and want Hinata, but I think it plays a pretty big role to be honest. 

And you knew what the sad thing about this? Ryo posted a tweet that apparently someone made a comment from Japan on Twitter that they knew someone from Shueisha. That persona leaked confidential information that explains the editors of Shueisha hated Sakura and ran an anti-Sakura campaign because of all the hate and death threat mails. And Kishi was easily manipulated and persuade of that rumor lol.

smh....Kishimoto was just a coward man. I know Oda wouldn't let editors control his characters like that.
He develops any character he wants , whenever he wants. No kitten pairing fanmail will ever corrupt his manga.

Ranking for sure. I love the last manga because they made a work that they put hearts to it as in popularity won't make them overstay their welcome, change characters, or anything. They did it because it was right. People should learn this. Maybe that's why that guy ended up doing All You Need To Kill or whatever it's called.

Lol, the pink hair is what first attracted me to her. She was my favorite since the beginning, since I liked her attitude and feistiness. I was never really annoyed by her personality, but I could see why people didn't particularly care for her. I loved the fact that she was intelligent as kitten too. She didn't have to use any special techniques during the first part of the Chunin exams, just her brains. That made her even cooler to me. And then, when she cut her hair during the fight with the Sound Ninja, instant badass for me. Her fight with Ino just confirmed the fact that she was definitely moving forward, and I was so proud of her.

When part 2 came around, I was freaking shocked. Not only could Sakura destroy a whole battlefield with a single punch, she was able to heal the worst of injuries/conditions, but she was also capable of beating the kitten out of an Akatsuki member. Even though her development went to the gutters in the end, I still love her. She'll always be my Queen, no matter what happens

All you need to kill is a light novel get Hollywood adaptation.
The movie called edge of tomorrow.

Since the light novel come from shuseia publisher, jump than make manga adaptation.
Anyway, do you know blue dragon manga? It's one of his work.
That's adaptation of the game of the same name. The manga has gorgeous art But the manga is really ecchi for shonen standard. Naked and boob everywhere. So I will give the credit to the writer since ohbata sensei is more of the artist. If I'm not mistaken.
