But Hinata is given an asspulled-Princess title and Heroine status b/c she "helped" Naruto twice (let's forget how many times Sakura has been there for Naruto, shall we?).

Better ask when Hinata really helped, and not just made it looks like she trying. First time is was suicide attempt, second time it was copycat of Sakura's moment from early part 2.

To totally dethrone Sakura from her heroine status. To rub her of everything she had. Her bond with Naruto. Her past. Her power. He significance. Her development. Her moments. Her importance. Her dreams. Everything.

To them it didn't matter how it was going to be done just that it's done.

It's just another forced plot point of the movie, to try and give Hinata relavence in a fight, while making sure she doesn't mess up her hair. It's even more out of nowhere than the scarf of misfortune.

First, Sakura is so glaringly absent, I have to wonder if someone has tampered with the translation. I mean, this isn't just skewed. It's wrong. Like saying that Asuma only had two students and dropping Ino from the lineup. The Sakura-hate is so obvious, I just have to wonder if it isn't someone intentionally removing Sakura from the storyline.

 

Second, the two heroes who lead the way to victory?? WTF? Since when is Sasuke lumped in with Naruto as winning the war for everyone else? Sakura and Sai both had misgivings about him in during the climax of the war, and Orochimaru wanted to see what Sasuke did. Sasuke didn't even care about saving his old teammate and teacher in the end, just himself and Naruto so they could have their pissing match. There is nothing that Sasuke did that was heroic. Nothing. But it's great that the whole shinobi world knows their names as heroes. Let's forget about Sakura, who freaking saved Naruto's life in the middle of the war and at the end of her chakra. She's not a hero. Nope, it goes to Sasuke, who didn't lift a finger to help anyone else for 500+ chapters. He's the hero.

 

Just when I think it's over, that I've moved on and there's nothing left to make me mad, they bring out this crap. I have a feeling all the books are going to go like this. Garbage.

 

At this point, the raising up of Sasuke is so completely unsurprising. Sakura pledges her undying love after numerous panels in which she showed skepticism. Keep in mind this is AFTER he threatened to kill her master and her other teammate. This is after numerous attempts to kill her. It's pathetic. Kishi's obsession with Sasuke was such a detriment to the manga. Sakura's novel is going to be wretched.

 

With how sloppy 699 and 700 were... that only furthers my belief this was a change forced upon the manga

It's embarrassing. The last manga chapter and its filled with errors.

I have been expecting the worse since the movie, I knew some bs was gonna happen and I was right. I am just waiting for the JP fans to get pissed by her novel the most

well at least that power up actually made sense for sakura's character, the reincarnation jesus power-up doesn't.

The whole Dragon Ball GT and the ball of fur aka Super Saiyan 4 is better than this bunch of otaku wet dreams.

This is now far beyond just pushing Sakura to the background for Hinata's sake. It's like they are trying to wipe her from the storyline altogether.

 

I've been reading some on gender inequality issues in Japan, and I've started to wonder if the Sakura hate isn't rooted in the fact that she is so far out of the mold for traditional Japanes roles for women. Sakura now has to face being an adult woman in a modern Konoha, and she can no longer be the same woman she was and have a child. She has to give it all up. It's a problem women are facing in modern Japan as well — keep your career or give it up for a family? You cannot have both. (It's looked down on being a working mother, they're called "devil wives," and daycares are hard to come by for mothers and looked down upon by non-mothers.)

 

So I'm starting to wonder if wiping Sakura from the storyline is just laying the foundation for her to become the happy little housewife and be forgotten about.  

 

I know this is deeper thinking about this topic, but really, why is this going on?? Sakura is the main heroine, who has done nothing but support the main hero. Why would this kind of treatment be allowed? Writing her off should be as wrong as writing Naruto off and replacing him with Sasuke as the de facto main hero.

 

I'm beginning to think that for the people/editors/handlers/animators that surround Kishimoto, Sakura's role in the story has become a problem. She is not the submissive, voluptuous, inoffensive girl that Hinata is. And since Sakura has had so much develpoment in the story towards her goals, she is automatically expected to do something with her life other than give up all her hopes and dreams to be a babymaker for Sasuke.

 

I'm beginning to wonder if the people around Kishimoto (most likely all male) are uncomfortable with a character like Sakura and don't know what to do with her except write her out of relevancy. She is put into a more traditional role and neutralized. 

 

This isn't just bad writing. This is abject sexism. 

 

And these kind of gender role issues are a big problem in Japan right now. I'm beginning to wonder is Sakura is getting such awful treatment because the people who are writing/animating have a bigger problem with her than just a Tsundere character. 

 

I would like to think that maybe Sakura has awakened some gender role issues for some people. That would be so fitting for a character who never excepted the status quo in the Naruto storyline either.
