That and I saw the reception changing for her. Saying it's a step in a right direction. Even one I follow became a believer. Wow. Yeah, because we have one character that already failed bad so why not have Pokemon show outclass her. This is so sad.

My hiatus. I want it end now!

I'm not saying that profit isn't a motivator, I'm saying that it doesn't determine success in the manga industry. What determines success is number of sales. Profit is a result of that.

The analogy wasn't used to compare ranking systems of the industries, only to provide support to the fact the music industry and manga industry operate in the same way.

This is just one chapter for NnT. I've seen many in just this series alone. The same thing happens in One Piece. They talk about number of copies sold, not money earned. Why? Because sales is the benchmark of success within the industry.



A projection of affluence would be all the same with the earnings acquired. Describing only the amount of sales appears as though it would accomplish nothing except to tell your generic reader how many people happened to purchase the same product.
 
I doubt every mangaka would consciously decide to admit their sales figures like some tool-waving contest against each other though.
 

Pirates vs Ninja is subjective. OP is more popular in Japan, but isn't as well known worldwide, so the comparison fails in terms of interest.

It's irrelevant because OP hasn't shown any decline, it's popular even through a tougher market. AoT, a new series, crushed Naruto, a series that has sustained success, even through tough markets. OP isn't that much older than Naruto, it was only released two years before Naruto, if that.


The comparison is restricted to the Japanese home base alone.

And when did AoT overtake Naruto? I'm going to assume that it occurred during the war arc when sales for Naruto were already on the decline for several years. It's like comparing the worst of one series versus another at its pinnacle. Like I said, Naruto may have been first published in 1999, but the first physical copies of Naruto volume weren't released until the following decade technically.

AoT overtake it as soon as anime happened. It's the only series that can compete One Piece in sales duel.

Since the anime of Aot came out in 2013.  It was insane to see how popular it got with the anime, and when it comes back next year with season 2 I already know the sales for the AoT manga will skyrocket even more. I can guarantee that much.

And Kenji Taira, the creator of Rock Lee and his Ninja Pals as well as Sasuke Uchiha's Sharingan Chronicles, is known to be more able to convey how the characters REALLY are as shown time and time again :3

To be fair the author makes fun of just about everything. That's the point of the series lol

I'd rather he not reference Sarada at all, personally. But I know it could be difficult since Sasuke having a daughter would be considered a big deal. pfft
