well I shipped SS too

but I realised some REALLY SERIOUS ISSUES with this ship...
NH was aleways like either silver medal or non-happening thing for me

& later on NH became reallly reallly shallow (since Hinata's dream is to get Naruto ...his dream, his wish, his feelings were like non existent for her)

SS got sunk badly & NS had highest chance,

but damn u kishi!
In the last arc, kishi kittened up almost every plot & subplot!!
I thought he'll fix it...but

Oh NH, yes my bad I felt the same with SS, unlike SS though, at least they sorta developed in part 1 along with NS, however NH felt more onesided and more admiration from Hinata and Naruto had no say to it, SS was developed in part 1 but in part 2 they weren't, before the war arc, they literally only interacted twice which is confusing to me on why he ended it this way, money shouldn't have been the way to do things

 
It was implied in his flashback that Neji had a thing for her (he is blushing cause he thinks she is cute).
During the chunin arc, I think Kishi was really at the top of his game in terms of writing (dat hole used to defeat temari from a previous fight is effing Genius).
 
I mean Neji effing hinata (japan is cool with cousins) would have been a coherent way to undo the cursed seal in him (a main family member can literally inflict pain and death if an inferior one wanted to rebel). Neji did not want to be looked down and trained like hell not be garbage and proved that he can be as good as the Superior branch. neji and Hinata were meant to lead the clan especially considering they have opposite personalities (kind hearted vs down to earth and strict).

It's funny, how I been seeing the narusaku fandom actually care the story and characters than the majority of NH :/ This could have been a great thing for the Hyuga clan but nope, dude went the route where everyone is regretting watching this

 
When he died... I suspected that it was probably a way to make NH canon considering his death was asspulled and made no effing sense. NH fans be like he finally understood his father's death... wait I thought that was the whole point of his character to let go of his past in part 1.
 
I do think Kishi actually intended Neji x Hinata cause it would have made perfect sense despite its incestual overtones. Killing Neji was essentially a way to kill that pairing and copy One piece along the way.

I honestly didn't expect that from Kishi, I just didn't want Neji to die, I read somewhere that NejiHina is more popular than NaruHina in Japan but don't remember where

I'm going to advice my brother to watch the movie he's no shipper by any stretch of the imagination but he hates Hinata with a burning passion because he considers she's responsible for Neji's death and a waste of good paper and ink, of course he isn't aware there's a movie after the ending nor does he know what it's about even tough he owns the first 55 volumes he isn't a hardcore fan. I'm going to hype him about this movie and tell him he mustn't miss it, this is my payback for making me discover Naruto.

It was more focused in the west. As one would say, the series is popular in Japan but it's bigger in the west. Like opposite for One Piece.

But a story should never pull something like Naruto did due to popularity, it's disrespecting the audience

Can you please also confirm that Sakura is way more popular than Hinata

I believe she is because the many pictures of her and Japanese fans are baffled by the popularity thing Kishi mentioned but confirming it is hard unless you speak to a Japanese fan

I would say the Last due to the actual creator being somewhat involved and still contradicts it's own story
