No, that part with looks like Sakura really does love Sasuke was from the person that was present at the interview. Call it, the narrator.
And no, that part is a right translation.
What I was trying to see is that when Kishi said that -she says she loves sasuke- is him, talking from the character's perspective, as in Sakura's perspective.
But when he says that "Naruto is close to her heart" is from his perspective, like what he intends with that character.
Does it make any sense?
Gah, is so hard to explain!

Actually, brackets in literature are generally used by individuals other than the author to add in missing text. This is very common in interviews, say when the interviewee forgets a word or hesitates while caught up in the moment. Actually my friend made it very clear about that part that the term used is "suki", same as in the confession scene.

Here, there's the author's note type of thing you know. However, when asked, Kishi said that "She says she loves Sasuke but feels close to Naruto".
So, the difference is that whoever did this interview, took it as granted. However, to me, Kishi is very ambiguous.
As in, from Sakura's perspective "she says she loves Sasuke" - like Kishi saying that from her perspective. But that part of Naruto is close makes me feel like this is Sakura from Kishi's perspective. As in... I know what I am doing with her, what she actually feels.
Dunno how to explain it properly...

That's why I felt the translation my friend did, fits better.
Why? Because "Naruto is close to her heart" equals to what Kishi said about an honest girl with a surprisingly stubborn impression and that part with she says she loves Sasuke would be the referral at Sakura's confusion of her feelings.
In other words, Kishi saying, but not telling the outcome of this that actually she thinks she loves Sasuke but, as Yamato said, in reality, she loves Naruto.
Dunno if it made a lot of sense, it's a bit hard to explain.

I am hundred percent sure!
That she says could be referring to what Sakura thinks she feels, however, we know how confused she is and that she hasn't yet felt true love.
But yes, Kishi said Naruto is close to her heart.
