Most people have either moved on, accepted the ending, or they just don't care enough to try such a tactic. Achieving anything with a petition is just a pipe dream at this point.

Many people wouldn sign the petition because 'why the hell not?'. You don't need to be hung up on the ending and have moved on and still sign a petition, nowadays it's so easy.

And lastly, you need to stop beeing so pessimistic Atheck, if there's a way to raise awareness or make SP and Kishi understand the situation the ending created then why not use it? If nothing comes out of it you have at least tried

Is it new? What's it about?

In this story the crime rate (especially murders) went up because of population decline and the resulting economic and social problems. And because the crimes became more and more brutal the family of the deceased often became consumed by despair and sadness. To counteract that some amendment of the japanese constitution was suspended that allows so-called 'vengeance execution', meaning that the murderes will be executed in the very same way their victims were (you burned someone, you burn; you cut someone to pieces, you will be cut to pieces etc.). And since that is a trial, if the murderer manages to achieve a 'victory' he will get a three year amnesty before he gets killed in a painless way.

It's really brutal, and moral heavy stuff. If Seichi manages to pull it off, he's got something big going on (and with his brother he's got a example how not to do it :) ).

Best character, pretty much the only real assassin (hrm, reminds me of a certain series about assassins where everyone fights like some Elder Scrolls Battle Mage) in the manga...

I'm really looking forward to the next chapter - Budo and Esdeath are simply beasts...

Am i the only one that would like it if Kishi somehow manages to grow some balls, takes the manga rights (if he still has them) and goes to some other manga house and redraws the whole manga as a seinen? Akame ga Kill! anyone?

BTW, are there more mangas in the style of Akame ga Kill! and Tokyo Ghoul? Those mangas and NS fanfiction are the only things that keep me from beeing absolutely depressed. Way to go SP/Shueisha in destroying an awesome WORLD.

I musn't forget to make stock of my favourite chips for tomorrow, seriously either Kishimoto's going to piss of the Sakura and NS fandoms further off or he's actually going to make a u-turn and tries to do damage control. Either way he's going to piss someone off and it's only the question if he decides to stay with the bigger evil or not...

And either way i'll have my entertainment...

They delete the most favoured critics, they retcon the kitten out of the manga ('Kishimoto drew a manga? News to me *lelelelele*' - scriptwriter for The Last), they sell mechandise that speaks a clear language of their priorities, they managed to make record intakes due to fraud...tsk

Newsflash: The Last - Naruto the movie's yahoo score has sunk to 3.19 !

Say if Kishi were to declare The Last non-canon, would that have a negative impact or would the pros outweigh the cons?

If that were to happen Kishi would have to rewrite at least 699 too, declare 700 as promotional for the movie a.k.a. non-canon and write 701. And that would be the ultimate chance for him to make it right, if he failed that his credibility would be over...

There's no way for Kishi to make it ALL right, it's more of a case of taking the least evil...
