#559997 The Last: Naruto the Movie: Thread 1

I highly doubt Kishi is going to start a whole new series with the children of the Naruto cast. That would mean a lot of time and effort, and he said he wanted to spend more time with his family after Naruto ended. New era can mean anything, it doesn't specifically mean 'kids'. It could very well mean Naruto and gang taking over for the older generation, and you know who becoming Hokage. Considering how little romance Kishi puts into the manga to begin with, and how NS has subtle moments that aren't ever really brought up again, I think it's expecting too much of him to think he'd put this major focus on marriage and babies and housewife stuff. It's just...not how he does things. :ermm:

Why does that fluff up NS, though? It's the fans that are making it seem like she's important. She'll probably just be some one off movie character or something, lol. Or maybe it is Sakura? I don't think so, because like I said, why hide the face if it's that obvious--but I don't think it'll mean the end of NS if it's someone else. Who knows, maybe he thinks he's being sneaky?

Comparing Naruto to Jesus isn't really a good argument, as Naruto has no Christian allegory in it to speak of. It's also for a younger audience, which that type of thing would fly wayyyy over their heads. The Japanese audience just isn't going to be that accustomed to Christianity in the first place. Naruto is essentially a ninja Goku. (He took inspiration from Goku to create Naruto, plus he idolized the creator when he was a child, etc)

Well, just think...Obito has done far worse things than Sasuke, and he gets to be called a 'cool' guy by a teary eyed Naruto and is seen as a hero. There's no way Sasuke isn't going to be redeemed at the end. :chuckle:

I don't think I'm overreacting, just trying to get my expectations lower :P

Before part II, I could see Sasuke caring about Sakura as a teammate (The noticing she was depressed/mentioning that she's the most advanced member on their team with certain knowledge to cheer her up/Asking Naruto to protect Sakura no matter what/The anger over the hair cutting/the catching Sakura after she's released from the sand&then asking one of Kakashi's dogs to take care of Sakura/Carrying Sakura to the bench after he knocks her out/etc) But part II....he just hates her. To the point where he tried to kill her. Any platonic feelings he used to have for Sakura are gone at this point. So for SasuSaku to happen, he'd have to really pull it out of nowhere, part II wise.

He really is taking some questionable choices narrative wise.

I'm feeling a bit conflicted! Kishi seems to spend an awful lot of panel/panel space on simply trolling. 615, all those panels devoted to Hinata being encased in the cocoon, having Naruto react right after Hinata screams his name, the SS catch/SS cover this week. Why not use all those trolling panels to futher NaruSaku instead? It's such a strange way to work up to NaruSaku endgame. :S
