I'm just going to say if this is how the movie turns out in the end, then there is no way I'm watching this garbage.

I agree with everything else in your post except the underlined. 

 

Naruto wants to be acknowledged by Sasuke as an equal in terms of strength. What does that have to do with NaruSaku? The only thing that influences NaruSaku is the PoAL.

 

 

As far as the 'stand before Sakura as worthy boyfriend material' is concerned, Naruto being a more worthy boyfriend material over Sasuke could be seen as far back as in part 1. Sasuke knocks Sakura out and leaves her in the cold night, Naruto promises on his life that he would fulfill Sakura's wish. 

 

Things did not get better though. In the entire part 2 Sasuke has demolished his boyfriend material credentials while Naruto has enhanced his own.

I think it's been stated that Naruto's love for Sakura is so selfless that he will be okay with it if she were to choose Sasuke over him, as her happiness is what counts to him. I agree that has nothing to do with being an equal to Sasuke.

I think as the series has gone on Naruto's love for Sakura has only grown, and I don't think that will ever change. It would be incredibly stupid if he were to fall out of love with Sakura, and in love with Hinata, in 2 chapters so I don't think we have anything to fear there. I'm positive we'll get some type of comfirmation in the next chapter or the final one.

Well I guess I'll be ok if it happens in the movie, but I would prefer if it's in the manga. We'll just have to wait and see...still NS has a 99% chance of happening at this point.

Hi everyone my first post on here!

The way I see it is that Naruto would have to confess to Sakura first, and get closure there, before he would ever think of moving onto someone else (like Hinata). At the very least that will have to happen, but I think that is where NS will become canon. So, I don't think there is anything to worry about right now.
