The Promised Neverland

Synopsis

Emma is an orphan that lives in a place called the Grace Field House along with her other foster siblings. Two of which are Norman and Ray who, along with Emma score the highest on the daily tests that they have to take. Emma notes that while they are able to do what they want they are not allowed to leave the compounds or the gate that connects the house to the outside world. One night Conny, one of the orphans is sent away to be adopted and Emma notices that she has left behind her bunny rabbit Bernie. Along with Norman and with Ray's help Emma makes her way to the gate to find Conny. However they are shocked to find Conny is dead and the house is actually a farm where they are being bred and harvested to become food for Demonic creatures. To make matters worse, Isabella, the mama and caretaker of the kids is in allegiance with the demons. This news shocks Emma and Norman to their core and they vow to escape along with all their other siblings.

 

 

Yes, yes, I know. The premise of the story sounds totally edgy, but I guarantee you, the characters in this story will prove you wrong. It's a relatively new manga that was released just a year ago. I've been keeping an eye on it but finally decided to give it a try when I was told that this series is very reminiscent of HxH and Death Note b/c of the heavy focus on strategy and mind games. And wow, this is beyond doubt one of the best running shounens right now. The first arc just had one plot twist after another; it was hard for me to put the manga down. I caught up on the 50 chapters in just three days, lol (that's quick for me, guys). What makes this manga so much fun is that the main cast and the supporting cast are all hyper-intelligent children since they were raised to be wise beyond their years, including the main character Emma (yay for not having a stupid shounen main character for once). None of the main characters are disposable- all of them contribute to the escape in one way or another. This right now is considered one of the most promising mangas in Shounen Jump, rightfully so!

I would laugh if they pull the old school cop out for death.......

yeah Rindo versus Tosuke is going to be the closest match by far

I kind of want Megishima to win... Just to see what all the Rindou worshippers are gonna react like XD.

Did anyone notice Shaoran used a different power this time? Something sort of light a sphere of light.

 

Btw, something that has been bugging me about this manga is Sakura's general attitude towards the disappearance/eradication of her Sakura Cards/Clow Cards. She should be more worried and saddened about them being gone. She was their master after all, so you should have felt some sort of guilt feelings for this, or not?

 

I'm not sure why you're taking a statement, and making a conclusion that was not stated by myself.

 

Whether or not Naruto is a masterpiece and Kishimoto is a genius manga author is subjective, not objective. I do not think Naruto is a masterpiece, I think it's a fascinating, flawed work, that ultimately is a good piece. I think Kishimoto is a good manga writer that has flaws in his story, with some very strong bits laced throughout.

Pardon my sudden intrusion, but I have been sort seeing you in a few related Naruto threads here and there for a while now

Let me just ask you this, and I apologize if this has been asked before: Why did you decide to discuss Boruto and anything Naruto related in a NARUSAKU forum where the general attitude towards the series is extremely negative? You know exactly you will only bud heads with this community which doesn't take the series seriously anymore and simply wants to poke fun at its sequel and the grown-up characters from Naruto.

If you want to actively and seriously discuss Naruto, you could try to go to the Naruto or Boruto subreddit or Boruto myanimelist page. It is not my intention to pick up a fight with you b/c you've been pretty civil (from what I've seen) in your posts, but I truly believe it would be for the best to visit the other suggested threads, for your own interest and, eh, for the schadenfreuden-like mindset of our community.

This is gonna be so edgy... I have zero expectations for this adaptation.

Idk, there's just so many scenes from this chapter that were amazing, I can't pick. Like Kaneki being a dork about boobs, Touka's adorable face when he grabbed her lol, Kaneki being self conscious about his arms and Touka seeing it and taking off her shirt (showing him she didn't care), his face when she started kissing his chest, her face when he took her virginity (kinda funny), when he was crying and she noticed, when they were wrapped around each other, and of course the end...

It was such a beautiful chapter. I'm so happy we got it!

I don't know why people are so surprised though that this was purely a sex chapter. Do people just read shounen manga all the time, or what XD? I anticapted this quite well.
Touka handled it like a boss tbh. She tried to make it as normal and comfortable for Kaneki as possible since she what he'd be like.

I went to tumblr. The denial mode of HideKane shippers... At least the shipping war is not that bad. Meanwhile, I'm still salty about NaruHina and get agitated whenever I see pics of them.

This was beyond beautiful. I loved everything about it. The awkwardness between two virgins engaging in their first time, the expressions, the tenderness from kaneki, & just the love that's expressed between them. Don't even get me started on kaneki crying. I'm so f-cking happy.

I couldn't have said it better. The scene where he was crying and the very last page are my favorite parts of this chapter.
