#714494 Official The Legend of Korra thread

Posted by firegirl on 24 December 2014 - 03:04 AM in Arts & Entertainment District

Really good friends...

See this is why lesbians or bisexual women are treated so...invisible. Yes we are touchy feeling but do you realize that neither of them were super comfortable. Their was a tension between them, very little yes, but it was strongly there. Asami doesn't always act smitten. in fact shes very blunt.

During season 4 those two women had a shift within their relationship. by the end of season 3, Asami was very hesitant when she spoke to Korra after grabbing her hand.

I happen to come across an old post saying something about Asami snapping at Korra when they were discussing her father in episode 7. We all knew that was a very sensitive topic for her but the way she said. “You don’t get to disappear for three years and act like you know what’s best for me!”

That is a little giveaway of just how hurt Asami truly was for Korra's absents. That was not a friendly thing to say at all, that sounds like somebody angry at her lover.

Look its not about how you see things. This is what even Brian spoke about saying that if you look at it for a second time, knowing that Korra and Asami are together...those suitable subtexts or tbh main text by season 4 will make you see that there is something going one between Korra and Asami, even Mako could see their shift.

It was rushed I'll give it that, but honestly this was truly a very well executed way to show the growth of friendship to romantic.

There was a time skip I think. At what I see it was probably around a month or so. Not long yes, but it seems everyone had a plan in the making, Raiko expanding the Republic, Wu standing down as king and declaring the Earth kingdoms future for a better system and last but not least, knowing that everyone is in peace and are creating plans for the future.

The Avatar is a human and they are not some god, they can have a break for a while, I don't get why people are against Korra to have a I don't know normal life? She's had to face huge world problems 4 times already, and Asami god knows she needs a vacation after what shes been through.  Mako seems to be attached to his job, and Bolin is happy with the girl he loves.

Everyone at that moment seems at peace. ( Except maybe Kuvira...is it bad I want to hug her now?)

Makorra was endgame for book 1 only. For god sake they thought it was a one shot, hence the horrific pacing of the triangle. Also do remember that Bryan stated he was the first Korrasami shipper and I do recall him saying he was playing with the idea of it.

One quote from Asami is quite questionable tbh. "I like Korra"

People really need to understand that its illegal in other countries to show same sex parings. This is NOT an anime, this is an western cartoon which is hugely popular world wide. In book 4 you can see the development of their feelings. Book three shows the development of friendship to best friends, but since Korra was connected to Asami through letters, they progressed their romantic feelings off screen especially Korra's.

The blush from Korra should of been a huge indicator also the Kataang parallels. Now I know people think they wanted to do something different with Korra, but LETS FACE IT. Bryke loved Kataang and their relationship. They gave Korrasami all those parallels from Asami holding Korra on Naga like Katara with Aang on Appa. To Asami being Korra's rock like Katara was for Aang.

It was very obvious where they were going. Bryke also showed Makorra as an parallel to Zutara. Especially during beyond the wilds.

ATLA is in their DNA, and for their paring they like the Avatar to have someone that can ground them, not argue with them not but heads like Makorra, someone that can be there for them.

In a way out of all the characters of team avatar Asami was the one that made Korra feel human and was always emotional support. In the end after Korra finally recovered from her PTSD She can see Asami's really cares about her, which is why she suggested the vacation and also apologized about her absence.

What occurred is a reserve Kataang. Asami's feelings were VERY obvious through book 1-3. Korra's only began around reunion ep 7. In a way its kind of like when Katara started to realize her feelings after Aang kissed her. (She might of thought about him and her in season 2 but it was during the eclipse episode that she really started to think of their relationship, remember she was confused during the embers island players)

Korra and Katara were suitable with there feelings, while Aang and Asami were obvious. Honestly during book 1 and 2 I really thought Asami had a one sided crush at some point. Even if she went back with Mako, that was only because she was in need of comfort, like we have to remember her whole company fell apart before she kissed him. She was at her lowest point and she needed someone.

What is slightly actually shocking to me is that the Korrasami fandom is actually slightly more nicer than the NH/SS (I see a hell of a lot of hate but also a bunch of apologies)...Narusaku I remember in the tags never got a lot of apologies from the haters...hmm.

I'm sorry for my ignorance before guys. Ship Makorra its your ship y'know. Love is love and if Zutara is still kicking as I see, Makorra can do the same!

Naruhina came out of nowhere. But Korrasami was in the development since book 2...

Yeah this wasn't an asspull at all.

Bryke has always been passionate about writing, and always try to push the boundaries and make a what feels  right, guess that's why I'm so happy. I just I can't.

I'm a lot like Korra, (minus being a POC) and just to see myself in her is just amazing. (since I'm also Bisexual)

I think that is false, though there is still evidence from the crew and the creators. Dante Basco, Seychelle Gabriel and Jeremy Zuckerman all been twitter happy about the finale and Korrasami. Also I recently found out that Mike liked an very intimate fanart of Korrasami on his tumblr.

I really can't even begin to say anything else at this point, because it should be clear that the relationship was a suitable build up. Again try to picture this whole scenario with Narusaku, from the beginning of season 3 to now.

Or better yet picture Mako in Asami's place throughout the last two books.

Not all romance is attraction, kisses and huge gestures. In fact most adult relationships in the early 20s - beyond start to be very suitable, its the little gestures and touches that really make a huge impact upon partners, whether straight or queer. What people want is not verbal declarations, what they want is trust, balance and empathy. Bonds like those between romantic partners are very rare, in a way they are meant as soul mates because of the amount of understanding and care they hold for one another.

Also note that Katara at first saw Aang as a kid, but as they got closer she started to understand his pain, the need of love that he desires, and steadily her view on him shifted as well as his growth. ( But do remember they are also in their early teens, yet was in a time period where one HAD to grow up)

What they did wasn't friendly, it was very intimate. Just think for a second, I understand it seems like friendship but just please understand what I'm saying. Asami and Korra were staring at each other as they walked towards the beam, their hands came together as it occurs then they don't look towards the portal, instead they turn towards each other, allowing their other hands to hold, BUT still maintain staring into each others eyes, both of them giving each other adoring glances as well as smiling.I only EVER did something like that, (minus the portal part)  With my BF and Ex girlfriend. Like if we just are y'know around each other sometimes we reach for both hands and close out everyone around us. Just looking at each other with no care about anything else.

Other couples in Avatar was in that exact same position, Zaheer and Pi'li is a perfect example as well and Zu'li and Varrick.

I'm not trying to say anything or offend people but honestly this is the furthest the creators could go with their relationship. IMAGINE Naruto and Sakura in their position and tell me that is friendship.

I liked the ending a lot, really toned me down after the Naruto fiasco.

There was obvious build up between Korra and Asami, nothing seemed like a asspull.

Also it seems that its implied that Korrasami did happen in the end.  Mike even linked it on his facebook  and Seychelle (Asami's VA) linked it from her twitter.

Hyuga's are so is Hinata. Studio Pierrot just wanted to lure as much NH fanboys as they can. And yeah:
Naruto descent of Hagoromo and Hinata of Hamura... That's caled incest

Not exactly incest but technically 2nd or 3rd cousins (which isn't an illegal marriage in Japan.). but still the whole paring is just boring...like honestly I'm not even mad, I'm just laughing at all this BS.

You know,  its been a while since I was here. but damn the crap that happened. Also could someone explain to me how Hinata is suppose to be a decedent to Hamura, y'know Hagoromo's brother? Like pls I need logic for this major ass pull.
