While Sonic and crew was teleported to DC's Earth, becoming the "replacement Justice League", and just found out that their home did not disappeared thanks to the Chaos Emeralds, back in Sonic's world, Cyborg managed to create a wormhole for the JL to escape the overloaded time and space flux distortion. The League stayed on Sonic's world as Batman and Superman stated that the Dimensional Engine destabilized the planet and the Ragna Rock taking the aftermath of the effects. To get back to their Earth, they decided to find the remaining Chaos Emeralds (wait... I thought they were in DC's Earth with Sonic and crew).

 

So we jumped to Blaze the Cat at the Water Palace Zone from Sonic Rush, battling not only Darkseid's minions but also The Female Furies, Stompa and Mad Harriet, and defending the purple emerald.  Diana came in to save the day and securing the emerald. Both her and Blaze rejoined the battle as the latter see the honor and valor within Wonder Woman.

 

In Westopolis and Central City highways (Sonic Adventure 2 and Shadow the Hedgehog), Metal Sonic is being chased by... Batman! And it was one-sided as Bruce was able to defeat Metal Sonic and retrieving the white emerald. (Okay, seriously Batman and Shadow had been instantly winning against their foes here).

 

In Lost Hex (Lava Mountain Castle from Sonic Lost World), The Flash is up against the Deadly Six (oh boy... we just have to use them again), summoned by Baron Vermin who has the yellow emerald. Flash instantly took away BOTH the emerald and the cronch (can't spell at the moment). Zavok wants to challenge the Flash but was ignored as the former was gone, remarked that he acted like Sonic. While the Flash is heading to Empire City (Sonic Unleashed) as he heard about the eight lane highway loop-de-loop, Eggman is on his Egg Fleet (Sonic Heroes), beginning his conquest to take over Sonic's world, until Superman shows up. Of course, Eggman managed to say the iconic phrase: "Is it a bird, a plane? It's Superman!" Eggman tried... yeah, tried to battled Superman in Egg Emperor, in which Clark easily destroyed. Clark asked where's the Chaos Emerald, in which Eggman stated in the Reactor Room. As Superman went downwards, Eggman screamed, "I hate that Kryptonian!"

 

In Luminous Jungle, Mystic Forest (Sonic Forces), the Wisps are protecting the Green Emerald from Granny Goodness. Jon Stewart stepped in to protect the Wisps. When being blasted, the Wisps charged up Jon's ring powers to give him a significant boost. After the battle, the Wisps handed the emerald to Jon, who used the emerald to charge his ring.

 

Back at Tails' Lab (in the Mystic Ruins from Sonic Adventure), Cyborg found a way to deal with their situation. In more simple explanation from Bruce: they're locked in Sonic's dimension, they're slipping the key (the emeralds) under the door, so Sonic and the others unlock the way from DC's Earth.

 

Soon, Cyborg developed a device outside the lab which created the dimension gate and soon Sonic and the others came back to their world, which we heading towards the final issue.

 

...oh and Flash was talking to Batman about the loop-de-loop while this happening. Bruce stated he will start his next patrol in Empire City!

Where we last left off in issue 2, Team Sonic found out from Mr. Terrific that their world was gone. That included the Justice League and Darkseid. Sonic and the others decided to return the favor on protecting Earth though Mr. Terrific stated that it won't be long until the villains realized that the major heroes are gone. Days and weeks gone by as Team Sonic became the "replacement" Justice League. Silver and the Green Lantern Corps faced off Sinestro. Amy battled Gorilla Grodd with the help of Supergirl and Hawkgirl in Washington DC. In Metropolis, Knuckles was called by Lois Lane, stating that Lex Luthor wants to see him. Luthor believed that he would've "poisoned" Knuckles with kryptonite but it didn't work as it was actually the Green Chaos Emerald. In Gotham City, the Joker was causing havoc until Shadow arrived... and it didn't go well as Shadow instantly KO'd him. And in Central City, Sonic faced off against Reverse-Flash. After winning the fights, Team Sonic realized that the villains had a Chaos Emerald. Tails asked everyone to meet at the Hall of Justice where we have Beast Boy as an otter (looking like an echidna, which I will explain at the end), playing as a guard. With everyone has 6 emeralds (Tails secured his off-screen in the battle against Brother Blood with the Teen Titans), the emeralds was able to locate the last one, which is in another dimension... meaning that Team Sonic are able to go back to their dimension. With the help of Mr. Terrific and Tails received the coordinates from the emeralds, the portal was created to send them back to their dimension.

The power-scaling for Team Sonic is crazy here... I wonder how the DC fans feel about this, especially seeing how the Joker, the most popular villains from Batman, gets knocked out by Shadow. Anyways, let me jump to the mention of Beast Boy. So we have sneaky references from Ian Flynn (I bet he couldn't resist this!), where we have Beast Boy shape-shifted into an otter but looking like a echidna. One reference is a shout-out to a prank version of Knuckles named Rankles the Otter from a Sega UK Magazine but this one got me because Beast Boy was looking like...

              Betcha a certain ex-writer is gonna be pissed!!!

Sonic and the Flash tried to get the Chaos Emerald from Darkseid but failed and he escaped. Flash let the others in the League that they failed to get the emerald while the others couldn't find the other 6. Meanwhile, Darkseid returned to Ragna Rock demanding a report on the remaining six, and then sending in his warriors to find them. Tails and Cyborg managed to create coordinates for the others to locate the emeralds. While the JL trying to formulate a plan to stop Darkseid from taking over Sonic's Earth (and no, it isn't Mobius anymore for the US fans), Darkseid's warriors appeared to stop them, with Steppenwolf battling Batman and Shadow while holding the red emerald, until Shadow used Chaos Control. However, Darkseid is one step ahead as sparks and earthquakes began to shake all over the planet, disrupting time and space.

 

While this is happending, Eggman appeared on the Egg Carrier, forcing to team up with Sonic and the JL to stop Darkseid. The group launched an attack on the Ragna Rock (although Diana commented that she will deal with Eggman after Darkseid defeated, which excites Amy... Eggman is going to run to the hills if that's ever happening!) Team Sonic and the Justice League tried to stop Darksied and neutralizing his device with a face, with Shadow using Chaos Control on him, unfortunately, that didn't work. Flash tried to stop the device with Cyborg noticed that the dimensional energies are out of sync because of Darkseid's mess. Because of the Chaos Emerald energy, reality was collapsing. John hold Sonic and his friends in a green sphere in which Cyborg send them to a different dimension via Boom Tube as they and the rest of the League stayed behind to stop Darkseid, resulting Sonic's world to disappear. Team Sonic arrived at the Watchtower as Mr. Terrific stated that everyone in that world has vanished...

The turtles gave Team 7 a tour of "NYC", with Mikey trying to rap, of course.   After getting the pizza, the group noticed that the lair had been ramsacked by the Foot and April and Splinter are kidnapped.

 

Meanwhile, at the Foot Clan Castle, Shredder is using the two as bait but then revealed that the last ooze was hidden in a scroll April was carrying. Upon the reveal, April was shocked that bringing back the ooze will doomed "NYC", but Shredder stated he is not using it to destroy the city but using it to test its full potential on a worthy foe. He then used the ooze on four of his Foot ninjas. Alopex was surprised that the ninjas are mutanting into monsters and felt betrayed as Shredder commanded the mutated soldiers to get rid of her. 

 

Then the TMNT and Team 7 arrived to save the day and the typical battle commenced. First pages are Sakura and Raph against the Foot Ninja in with Red claws. Ended with the "Cherry Blossom Shell Smash". Next is Kakashi and Leo against a Yellow Foot Ninja that use rapid attacks, they both combined Raikiri with Leo's Katana: "Lightning Katana" to finish him off. Then, its Sasuke and Donnie fighting a Blue Foot ninja with Wolverine-type claws, that defeated the foe with a combo divekick called, "Sharingan Staff". Finally, Naruto and Mikey, whom struggling to fight a Purple Foot Ninja with wings but concluded that they were fighting pizza dough. Finished with an "Uzu-Mikey-Angelo Barrage". But then, Shredder used the last of the ooze to transform himself... the final battle commence in the fourth and final issue.

Superman/the Justice League's nemesis, Darkseid, began attacking Sonic's world and is after the Chaos Emeralds. The Ragna Rock appeared while interrupting Sonic, Tails and Amy's picnic. While this was happening, Knuckles was defending Angel Island and the Master Emerald when suddenly Darkseid sent a huge beam, destroying the Master Emerald AND Angel Island! Superman appeared in time to save Knuckles. The swarm was attacking Sunset City where Sonic and the others were heading. Silver, who was in the city, gain assistance from Green Lantern (John Stewart), Sonic met with the Flash, Amy and Tails teamed up with Wonder Woman and Cyborg, Superman and Knuckles appeared and Shadow and Batman saved a female posseum. After the introductions, along with Batman and Shadow had a heart to heart conversation as they are so similar, the 2 teams paired up to locate the Chaos Emeralds. Sonic and the Flash reached Green Hill Zone to discover that Darkseid just found the blue emerald.

It begins with a red herring! (And in a proper way, unlike Masashi did at the end).

 

Splinter is NOT Yoshi Hamato. Kakashi stated the Hamato Clan was once known for its dojo and had saw Yoshi fight during his travels when he was young. The last time he had heard from him, Yoshi was betrayed by a rogue student... (we'll get to that later).

 

Kakashi thought that Splinter is Yoshi but Splinter revealed that he isn't, so his origins is the same from the original: he was Yoshi's pet rat. Everyone realized their misunderstanding from the previous issue and introduced themselves. The Hamato clan leads Team 7 and April to their lair. During the trip, everyone is getting along pretty well, Raphael called Sakura her English translated name, "Cherry Blossom", and complimented her, while Naruto and Michelangelo becoming real cool to each other. During the tour, we see Naruto hanged out with both Mikey (playing video games and even skateboarding with April recording) and Donatello, Sakura sparring with Raph (the IDW team are definitely making sure she's an action girl to the audience), Sasuke and Leonardo meditating, and Kakashi and Splinter having tea while talking about Naruto's life as a jinchuriki, stating that he, Naruto, doesn't know his father Minato sealed Kurama inside of him yet. 

 

Sasuke then began to question the Hamato clan on why they are hiding underground while they easily beat the Foot Clan and wanted to know what made them go into hiding. Splinter answered, "Not what but who? Oroku Saki."

 

So here's Oroku Saki aka Shredder, and the main TMNT characters' history in the Naruto-verse: Saki was a troubled boy who lived in the "NYC" (I'm still not feeling the Big Apple Village name) criminal underworld and came to Yoshi's dojo to began a new path in life. Yoshi knows about the hardship and wanted to help the boy but then saw Saki's cruelty and wanted power. Saki stole the Hamato scroll, destroyed the dojo and killed Yoshi. Splinter barely escaped and took refuged in the sewers. Days later, he found 4 baby turtles covered in a mysterious ooze and took them, before later realizing that the ooze mutated them. They later grew and became the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, whom are ready to seeking answers above ground. They battled the Foot Clan and eventually ran into Oroku Saki.

 

As Team 7, well Sakura, began to understand what is going on and thinking that fate had brought them together, we got a tidbit from Kurama speaking to Naruto, which is actually pretty funny: "You're the same. In your case, I'm the ooze."

 

Meanwhile, April began to tell how she met the Hamato clan. As no reporter or even the local news wants to talk about bizarre theories, Stockman kept insisting on reaching out. He told April that the ooze wasn't theoritical and lost the initial batch years ago but can finally produce more without the uninversity but desperately wanted the acknowledgement and acclaim. He then met his downfall when he received funding from the Foot Clan in which Saki wanted more ooze produced and wants it for himself. The Foot began ransacked the lab and took everything (although April managed to store a jar in her backpack that was seen in one panel). She was almost about to be killed off if the Hamato clan didn't show up. While they finally found Stockman, they stumbled upon April instead. After more research, she began to head to Konoha to learn more about the ooze from a medical jutsu expert, (in this case, Tsunade)...

 

...until we heard a growling sound. Sakura assumed that was Naruto's stomach but it was actually April's. So the Turtles and Team 7 head out to get some pizza, in which Naruto asked Mikey what is pizza and Mikey answered, "Bro! Prepare to have your mind blown!". April and Splinter stayed behind until they realized that the Foot Clan are in the lair. As April and Splinter defended themselves against the Foot, Oroku Saki appeared.

• Shadow is also an alien that was sent to Earth 50 years ago (around 1970s) in a rock. GUN had an underground laboratory to study him with Gerald Robotnik. Maria, not sickly, moved in to the lab and befriended Shadow.
• Maria was killed via explosion in the lab when she, Shadow and Gerald was trying to escape due to the Chaos Energy experiments were too hostile to control, and GUN wants to eliminate Shadow.
• Gerald is somehow alive though and released Shadow to take revenge on the whole planet. He used Eggman's technology to lure not only his grandson but Team Sonic to the destroyed lab. The two "bonded" and had a dance routine when sneaking into GUN's HQ in London.
• The middle part was Team Sonic, along with Tom and Maddie, trying to get inside GUN to get the key that will activate the Eclipse Cannon while Eggman and Gerald snuck in.
• There were a couple of death scenes: the Commander of GUN (aka the Olive Garden guy) in the beginning in Tokyo, where he was giving Team Sonic one of the keys to activate the cannon but he was killed by Eggman's rogue robots and Tom, disguised as the Commander by a severe punch from Shadow (almost, he survived), which caused Sonic to get revenge.
• Knuckles had the Master Emerald secure with... Wade, of all people! He was playing hockey with it.
• We have a Super Sonic vs. Super Shadow fight scene, almost a shout-out to Dragon Ball franchise that eventually led them to the moon.
• Fans of the song, Live and Learn, will be happy to know that it is in the movie, along with a couple of Sonic Adventure 2 tracks.
• Gerald was using Eggman to activate the Eclipse Cannon, since there is no ARK. There was a battle between the two, eventually Eggman won by "kancho-ing" Gerald with Sonic's quill that send him to the reactor core (created by Shadow's Chaos Energy). Meanwhile after bonding, Sonic and Shadow transformed back into the Super forms to destroyed the launched GUN robots from the Eclipse Cannon.
• To stop the cannon from firing to Earth, (and according to Gerald, the effects will catastrophic as it would destroy everyone, including those who are in the Cannon itself), Eggman teamed up with Tails and Knuckles to move the cannon's aim away from Earth while Sonic and Shadow tried to stop its laser beam. The beam sliced near the bottom part of the moon, a shout-out to Eggman used to the Eclipse Cannon to destroy half of the moon in Adventure 2.
• However, Shadow and Eggman sacrificed themselves to get the Cannon out of Earth's atmosphere via Chaos Control (wasn't named but likely Shadow's teleport), he even took off his inhibitor rings. Tails and Knuckles escaped and rescued Sonic(after passing out when trying to stop the beam from hitting Earth) from being burned alive as he falling through the Earth's atmosphere.
• Lots of shout-outs: including a Chao Garden-themed restaurants with Chao mascot in Tokyo. Speaking of Tokyo, the Japanese version needs a new title as Team Sonic, Shadow and GUN were only there for only 10 minutes of the movie.
• Post-credits: Sonic raced too far and reached New York, where he was attacked by not one Metal Sonic but a bunched of them. They were about to ambushed him but they were destroyed by a hooded figure: Amy Rose with her Piko Piko Hammer! And then Shadow survived and picked up one of his inhibitor rings.

So, the purpose of this chapter is sort of a "what if" continuation for 430 as the actual manga (well, its title) ended in 429. He stated that this chapter is more of an "off-camera" and relieve the characters from the story's drama. So it is like we, the readers, have to treated it if its officially canon or not, like a multiple endings situation of a video game and guess the correct one. No sequel in the works though.

 

Now it's up to BONES to decide to show it or not for the anime's final season.

Kohei Horikoshi... did you talked to Masashi during your "break"? 

 

Because it sounds like you gotten his advice and MHA is now heading towards Naruto territory in terms of its ending and the Japanese fans are pissed! So, we got Izuku and Ochaco becoming canon, in NOT in a good way (literally have to be pushed by ghost!Himiko to shot down the queer pairings and ended BakuDeku as having Izuku rejected Katsuki's request to work at his agency, even having Katsuki basically stating, "No one is special" and he's in the top 15, originally at the top 5 but dropped). Also, Izuku felt like he is happy just to be a teacher? After receiving the armor suit?! Your mentor was a pro hero AND a teacher to make it work, despite his major injuries! That shot down Izuku's characterization as a whole. Another character assassination, folks.

 

As for Izuku X Ochaco, he should've added more scenes to make them believable because this ending pulled a red herring move on the audience by having Izuku suddenly have an interest to "rekindle" their relationship towards romance after 8 years?! Would've made sense for have Ochaco be at his side during the timeskip since he's quirkless and being more supportive instead of having Katsuki working his ass off to get the armor suit for him. I would've taken the original ending, instead of this extra expanded BS! It even followed some of Naruto's pairings for beta couples. Also, All Might does NOT appear at all!

We start off with Team 7 on an escort B-ranked mission with April O'Neil. And we'll hold on for second. First off, we're back in Part 1. According to the official summary, this event happened between after the end of Search of Tsunade arc and before Sasuke Retrieval Arc. Now, we're looking at April, with a totally different design: red haired, her age is in her late teens, and she's more African American race (which according to one of the creators, Kevin Eastman, mentioned in the original Mirage comics, April was intended to be mixed or Black). She's also a reporter, based on the 1987 cartoon series. Anyways, we see a full page spread of Kakashi holding a scroll, delivering details of the missions and pictures of the cast and bios. Now here's the interesting part: on Sakura's bio, it stated: "Powerful fighter and medical ninjutsu practitioner in training." We all know in Naruto canon at that time, Sakura only has genjutsu training and hadn't train with Tsunade yet. But remember the filler arc before the Sasuke Retrieval Arc? SP did give Sakura some enhanced strength during that filler. So, I guess the writer assumed that arc was canon and roll with it so Sakura cannot be extremely useless here.

 

Back to the story,

 

Sakura reprimanded Naruto who is trying to help a turtle off its back. Although he complained about the mission being B-ranked, Kakashi reminded him to show nature respect as turtles can handle themselves. Sasuke began to talk to April, as she was being very quiet during their travel to "NYC". April stated the reason why she went to see Tsunade as she need to talk to a ninja biology expert for her news report on experimental science.

 

Here's the rundown: Dr. Baxter Stockman was let go from the city's university for undisclosed reasons and went to April to tell his side of the story. He was hired for engineer machinery but instead focused on biological research, which was draining the school's budget. Which became his obsession as he developed the "ooze" to create and control mutant ninjas. Before she continued, the Foot Clan suddenly appeared, led by Alopex (not sure that's her, if no one follows the IDW comics of TMNT, she's once part of the Foot Clan who later left and became Raphael's love interest) or Kitsune (another new antagonist from the IDW comics), demanded Team 7 to hand over April. Naruto noticed her fox tail but then Kurama revealed that the enemy is a fake/mutant. Team 7 is ready to fight until the Foot got ambushed by... the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and Splinter! The Foot retreated, not to forget to mention they will have vengeance.

 

But then, the turtles began to think that Team 7 are the enemy. Words shot fired between the two groups while April tried to diffuse and explain the situation, which somehow then decided to start recording the fight with a video camera... Leonardo began to fight Sasuke, thinking he's the leader and noticing the vengeful looks in his eyes. Then we see Sakura fighting Raphael, who wanted to fight Sasuke, using her enhanced strength that scares Raph! Naruto faced off both Michelangelo and Donatello, using his signature Shadow Clone jutsu (somehow using the literal English translation: art of the doppelganger). And lastly, Kakashi went to fight Splinter, who knows some lightning jutsus. Sasuke almost got his head chopped off by Leo. Raph complimented Sakura's skills. However, Naruto thought he punched Mikey's head off which led him being smacked by Donnie's staff, ending the Shadow Clones. April couldn't get the footage as everyone was fighting way too fast for her camera but before the fight escalated, Splinter stopped the fight, impressed that Team 7 were able match with his sons. While Kakashi was grateful for the Hamato clan giving him and his students a workout, he activated his Sharingan and then began unmasking them! He then recognized Splinter as Yoshi Hamato. 

 

I might be wrong on Alopex but it could be Kitsune, as I just found out about that character. I guess we'll find out on the second issue.

It follows between Search for Tsunade and Sasuke Retrieval Arcs from Naruto. While the TMNT world and lore exists within the Naruto canon, it follows the IDW comics as Alopex is part of the Foot Clan (if you guys follow that version). And remember that filler arc right before the Sasuke Retrieval arc? Well, they gave Sakura the sudden enhanced strength before her training with Tsunade and she fought against Raphael, in which he even complimented her skills. Sasuke fought Leonardo and Naruto against both Donatello and Michelangelo.  And somehow Kakashi knows Splinter aka Yoshi Hamato.
